Dockside - Coeur d'Alene Resort Ratings and Reviews
Wow! Our experience at Dockside was wonderful. Our server (William) was so attentive even though the place was packed. The prime-rib dinner, delectable. Being there lit us up with joy. O, and the desert was over the top. Beautiful lighting all around us and even outside. Dockside is just the best. Their people are the best and their food is the best. Prices were well inline with many other places we have been but the quality was far superior. We can't wait to go back. The 50 mile drive was well worth the experience. Jim & Janet
The food has gone down hill some. (According to my friend) The fish and chips use to be made with panko which was better. Fries didn't taste good at all. The other food was fantastic!! Our waitress was just ok. There wasn't many people eating for us to continue to have to ask for refills. The gooey was amazing. All in all pretty well pleased.
Can’t beat the waterfront when it’s all decorated for the holidays. Super setting.
Food is ok to good, but after a few visits, nothing special.
Two orders of the halibut; both over cooked to the point a knife was needed to cut the meat. Sticky rice was just that and not hot.
But, its better than fast casual, and there is that view!
It took over 35 minutes for our food to arrive after ordering it. We had to ask for coffee refills, the Appetizers were forgotten about and once we mentioned them they arrived during the main course, which was cold. The gravy on my mashed potatoes had been sitting too long and had developed a skin on it. One of the appetizers (Calamari) was returned because they were not cooked all the way through and tasted like flour. The Salmon Cakes were over done and not light and flaky.
Went to Dockside Sat night with my wife. First time visit and used online reservation.
Everything was fantastic. Food, service, value, and table across aisle from windows overlooking the lake.
Could not have asked for a better experience, and will be back in January when we are back in Idaho.
Don't forget to walk along dock if you have a little energy after dinner. Stunning view and beauty everywhere.
When I made our reservation on Open Table, I asked that our dining be for brunch and asked for a high chair to be at the table. Both requests were ignored when we were seated since we were given menus (menus are not needed when you are having brunch as you serve yourself) and there was no high chair. When I received a reservation confirmation phone call the day prior to the reservation, it was verified by the staff that I had made these two requests.
We also thought it was possible that part of our group had arrived before us. We were told by the host that she didn't know if they had arrived and that we could take a look around the restaurant. Is there really no way to know that our group had arrived when we gave you the reservation name? Unfortunately, we were the first ones there from our group so we spent a few minutes looking around the restaurant when we could have been seated. When we confirmed with the host that our group was not there, we were asked again what our reservation name was.
I know these are small petty complaints, but I have always had great service in the 25 years I have visited this restaurant. It just seemed that on this particular visit, it was less than spectacular. However, our server was wonderful and my sister who has a 2-year-old, a new born and a broken leg absolutely appreciated his service and his attentiveness. The food, as always, was amazing and we liked the changes that have been made to the brunch room.
Because of my dumb complaints, I did not rate everything 5 stars, but I do highly recommend the Sunday brunch. My husband has gluten ataxia and the staff are extremely helpful concerning cross contamination and making recommendations.
This place has the best Sunday brunch in town with great views of lake Couer D’Alene. They fill an entire room with delicious food; including an omelette bar, crepe/waffle bar, various meat selections, pastries, fresh fruit, & dessert options. My favorite was the creme brûlée french toast. The salmon with caper sauce was also very good. The staff was helpful & friendly. The coffee was a bit strong for my taste but everything else made up for that. We will definitely be back again soon!
Lunch at Dockside wonderful treat for my wife's Birthday. She said it was the most exclusive or highest end restaurant she had ever been to. (That can be taken as either a very high rating for Dockside or a low rating for my previous restaurant selections.)
Used open table to make a reservation but the restaurant would not honor the reservation because "it was online and they cannot control online reservations". The hostess desk did not greet. One of the servers name Jack threw straws on the table above my father in laws head without speaking . We had to request a server because when we asked Jack a question (since he didn't greet or talk) , could we order drinks, he said he wasn't our server and didn't know who our server was but thought another young lady was the server. When we saw the young lady's name tag, Lauren, we asked if she was our server and she said she didn't know but stated she would love to be. The service turned around. It was just sad that the service was so bad and embarrassing to take our family there and be treated so poorly.
We've not seen CDA for many years and enjoyed the growth. We will say that our fish and chips were good.....but, for the price and location, we expected a bit more. Never had "Halibut & chips" in what seem to be a premade "square". The coleslaw was good.....
All in all.... the location was great....but, the food ? We had higher expectations.
The Dockside is one of our "go-to" restaurants when we visit. We always book a table as Dockside can be very busy during weekends and special events.
Our meal was fantastic in every way. Desert was incredible.
Our only disappointment for the evening was that we ordered a Vesper. The bartender must have shaken the martini instead of the correct way, "stirred - not shaken." (according to James Bond) The result was that the Vesper was very watery. Drinkable but not to expectation.
All in all we had great evening
This restaurant is hit or miss. Sometimes the staff is friendly, and the food shows up within 30 mins. This time the food took so long our server had to go check to see if the ticket had been lost. Then, 2 of the 5 meals were wrong. Staff didn't seem to care at all. The overall experience this time was horrible. We brought family from Arizona; we chose this place because the view is lovely and the food is usually fair enough, but a little overpriced for what it is. We likely won't return. Too many other great choices out there.
My family has been to Dockside numerous times. The food has always been wonderful and the service top notch. This visit took the shine off of the restaurant just a bit. The service was okay: nothing to write/e-mail home about. Had to point out to waitstaff that there were no flatware and napkins. The food was good, but not wonderful, as it has been every other time we've visited. Didn't think it was as great a value as in the past. We'll definitely go back. We hope this was just a fluke and not a trend.
