   Our server was delightful and attentive. It was loud with a large group in the corner next to us and another loud group in the back room. It was a Friday night so a weeknight might be a more romantic atmosphere. We ordered several appetizers, and shared a Caesar salad with crab and the scallops. The good: the tenderloin skewers were good (my wife LOVED them - I felt more ambivalent). The calamari was amazing, perfectly cooked with fried onion to add another level to the flavor and the peanut sauce was delicious (my only complaint was that there wasn’t enough peanut sauce and the other two sauces were not good). The scallops were amazing- perfectly prepared. The not so good: the crab cake was bland and there wasn’t enough sauce on the plate to flavor it well enough and it came with two shrimp that also needed flavor. The salad dressing was sadly bland - I love a tangy Caesar dressing and this was not. The potatoes that accompanied the scallops were also bland and the saffron sauce lacked depth or interest for me. We both enjoyed our desserts of crème brûlée (creamy and flavorful) and fruit crisp (buttery with tangy fruit). The wine by the glass was good as well. Overall, the dishes we enjoyed, we thoroughly enjoyed and the ones we didn’t love were still edible and we left happy with full bellies.

   Wonderful service, food and drinks. My only complaint was that it was a little cold in the restaurant. I kept my coat around my shoulders during dinner.

   Service was very slow. Waited when we arrived before anyone greeted us, then waited to get seated while they got the table ready ( that part was no big deal), but then waited again way too long to get water, and then again to place our order. We ordered food with the drinks at the same time, because our kids were very hungry, but it took way too long to even get bread. Not sure if they were understaffed, but there was no mention or acknowledgment of the slow service, which would have helped. Seems that this is how this place operates. The food looked much better on pictures than it actually tasted. Seafood cocktail was good , but everything else disappointing given the price and effort on presentation. The French fries were almost cold and didn’t have enough salt. I appreciated that the rest of the food was under salted, but fries should arrive with enough salt on them- can’t really make up for it at the table, plus there was no salt on the table anyway. We asked for duck to be medium to well- done and some pieces were done rare . The decor is outdated and uninspiring. It was dark when we dined, so could not fully enjoy the view. The glass doors were scratched and dirty, so was hard to enjoy even the evening lights. All and all, disappointing experience, especially given the price we paid, and wish we would’ve made a reservation at a different location for our 1 evening in Olympia.
