In addition to top-shelf mixed drinks, Dockside Bistro also has an extensive list of over 130 different wines from the Pacific Northwest, California, Europe, New Zealand and Australia. As with our locally sourced produce, we take particular pride in hosting established and emerging wineries from the exciting wine scene developing in South Puget Sound.
Please join us for an exceptional dining experience in our warm, waterfront setting.
Food is excellent - it has been excellent every time we have gone there. We do not live in Olympia, but pass through several times each year. We make a point of arranging our travel to insure that we can stop at Dockside Bistro for a meal.
Excellent food and service. Drinks were a bit expensive ($15/glass of wine; $7.50/glass of draft beer). Only a few diners present 6-7:30pm on a Saturday (probably due to recent coronavirus scare), which made it nice for conversation. Pleasant recorded music making for a very pleasant ambience. Our server was very knowledgeable and pleasant and our food arrived in perfect order.
My husband and myself were in town this weekend celebrating our birthday’s and our upcoming anniversary. The service was great and the food was amazing. We will definitely come again!
Excellent food and service. a bit on the high side but very much a "special occasion" venue. Quiet. Not rushed. Overall a nice evening for us and our friends.
The new server was excellent and the food and wine perfect accompaniments!
This restaurant has a strong claim to be the best in Olympia. The service is genuinely friendly and attentive. Every course of our meal was inventive and excellent. The only downside is that excellence costs a lot -- by Olympia standards.
This is a waterfront gem that does not disappoint and is worth every penny. When I am looking for a good steak in Olympia, the filet here is my first choice. The vibe is neat, good for dates or anniversary or a small group gathering. Great food, the warm bread and tasty herbed oil is stellar.
A wonderful restaurant on all levels. The food is superb, the service excellent, and the overall experience outstanding!
The food was very good but too expensive for what we received. I ordered the fish which was an average sized order, nothing special, but the price was $39 for the plate. Salad was an extra $10 for a very small amount. If the food had been exceptional as in other fine restaurants we have visited, the price would have been more in line with the meal. The service was extremely slow and there were not that many people at other tables. Very disappointed.
Twice the wrong order came to the table, first the spit I appetizer and the dessert.
Best restaurant in Olympia. Everything was cooked perfectly
Great food and waitstaff coupled with quiet ambiance make this a great place for a romantic dinner in Oly!
As always, dining at Dockside Bistro is a true pleasure. Their food preparation and presentation is exquisite and the service compliments it. Don't wait for a special occasion, although that would be wonderful, visit and dine for no reason other than you'll get a fabulous meal.
Wonderful food with amazing service. I’ll be back for sure.
We were seated right away, our server was knowledgeable, personable, and made sure we were taken care of without being overly present. The food was excellent and the overall experience was very pleasurable!
The food was excellent
nice part of town with view of marina, service nice, un-hurried dining experience, great place to spend an evening. Noise level much lower than most places in town. Food is always great, well presented. Great wine list. Price is where it should be, compared to similar more upscale restaurants.
Soup lukewarm and salty, also. Avacato crab appetizer too salty Salmon crab entree so so. Noisy. Had to ask waiter to change table.
What an awesome evening! The dinner was exceptional and the service was excellent. Always a great choice!!!
Service for birthday was excellent
The wine list was wonderful. Our server was well informed and helped us choose a wonderful Pinot Noir. Our meals were perfectly prepared...seriously! We'll definitely be back.
Our visit was the first time we have been to Dockside Bistro. We really enjoyed the quiet dining room and friendly staff. The dinner was great and we will be back for all our special occasion's.
There were two dogs in the dining area. One was reportedly service dog but other was not.
It is hard to eat when we smell dogs...
One of our favorite date nights. We love to have delicious romantic dinners here.
It was a spur of the moment decision to eat there before a play. The food and service was top notch. We’ve been there many times and have never been disappointed.
Absolutely. The food was wonderful-well prepared. Our server was timely and helpful.
Amazing food and great ambulance. A great place to visit.
Excellent meal and service. The best meal that I had while in Seattle area.
I love Dockside Bistro. We have come here every year for probably at least the last 5 or 6 years for my birthday dinner. It is a bit spendy but I guess you get gourmet prices for gourmet food! Delicious meal every time! And our waiter was awesome. I don’t remember his name but he was very attentive and had a great sense of humor. He has served us several times and I look forward to seeing him again.
Great service! Tuesday night anniversary, quiet and perfect for conversation. The meal is always fantastic so no surprise there. We are very happy with our choice of venue. Thank you Dockside!
Food was great, a little pricy but expected for the quality and experience. Great location. Boardwalk is nice and views were great.
Wonderful, delicious, creative menu ... we picked items from the starters, soups & salads, and entrees -- splitting them all. Worked fine. Starter item "seafood cocktail" was simply luscious, and the filet minion grilled to perfection.
Dockside Bistro is a good restaurant. The food is definitely a bit bland. I hate to say it, but maybe add a pinch more salt to everything? Otherwise, the food is well cooked and well presented. I would say it all needs a little more "oomph" though. - service, decor, and food.
Outstanding food and service. Haley made us feel special. Great meal!
This was our first visit. We had a great table, our food was great, and the service was great. What more could I say?
It was my first visit to Dockside Bistro, but it surely won't be my last. I did not know what to expect, so I explored their website. I thought the pictured items look delicious, but the portions looked small. Luckily, pictures don't always tell the complete story. My son and I shared the pork belly buns. The presentation was beautiful, especially the pork belly (usually hidden inside the bun), and the flavors were fresh and full. I could see eating a double order for dinner. For the main entree I ordered the Pistachio Encrusted Parmesan Wild Seasonal White Fish. This night it was halibut (one of my faves). The fish was crisp on the outside and tender in the middle, and the Arugula Pesto Gnocchi really highlighted the fish. As a final comment, my son and I had the Snake River Ol’ Fashioned. Just like my dad liked it. As we were leaving, we got to meet the chef/owner. She was gracious and we complemented her on the fine dinner she prepared. I shall return.
birthday - waitstaff was fantastic
Service was incredibly slow, even though restaurant was not very crowded. The food was pretty good, but overpriced for the quality. The salmon was overcooked and dry, and risotto was too cheesy. Lovely atmosphere.
This place is worth the $$$! Right by the dock. Food is perfect and the ambiance is really pleasant. If you want a quiet romantic very fine dinner, this is your place.
Some friends and I dined here on Saturday night in celebration of a birthday. Our server, Ben was professional, extremely knowledgeable and made great suggestions! The seafood cocktail is a must! Super rich and creamy! Crab dip, Humboldt salad, and featured mushroom soup were all good. Scallop entree was amazing and cooked perfectly. We also tried the special which was a pan seared halibut over lobster risotto! Out of this world! Friends got the featured pork chop that was sous vide the seared, which was outstanding, and the halibut with pesto gnocchi which was great as well. The duck was good but not our personal favorite. Mixed berry crumble was good but the ice cream with it was better. All in all, a really great experience! Thank you so much!
