The rack of lamb was done to perfection. Rare bit still warm. The presentation was very nice which is what you would expect when dining versus eating out. Likewise service is important for dining. The waitperson was attentive but not intrusive. Some items on the wine list were not available but the substitution was fine. Mussels were not available for the steamed shellfish but the increased clams were fine. The sauce was delicious. Warning! Don’t eat too much bread with the sauce or you won’t be hungry for dinner. This was a nice anniversary venue.

I never really paid attention to this restaurant. I do not know how long it has been there but we have gone to Budd Bay Cafe next door for a long time. The think that there should be 3 "$" for cost of meals. It was gourmet food, cost and portions. The staff were pleasant and friendly. Despite the gourmet atmosphere was no required attire. Definitely recommend but for a special occassion.

I think the chef had an off day. We love Dockside and come for special events. It was our five year anniversary, but unfortunately, the food was subpar this time. I get what I always get. Meat was cooked incorrectly and the parsnip brûlée wasn’t right either (barely a parsnip flavor and runny). Hope it was just a bad day, but for the price, not sure if we will come back to see if it was a one time thing or not.

Our favorite in Olympia! You can’t go wrong with any dish. Fish, steak, duck or her pasta. Save room for dessert. Great drinks and wine.

I had a wonderful dinner at Dockside with my friend Patrick to celebrate his birthday. The appetizers were so delicious and both our entree’s were wonderful as well! I have always been very pleased with the service and quality of all the food at Dockside. We are so lucky to have such a great restaurant in Olympia!

I have had several meals here within the last couple of years. They have all been outstanding. I had halibut that melted in my mouth.. The wine selection is good. Desserts are fresh and flavorful. The Menu has good variety. It's my go to celebration spot.

Given the price, I was expecting much more! The food was fair at best with minimal ingenuity and cooked poorly - my scallops were overdone while my friend's steak was under-cooked for her order. The restaurant seemed only modestly busy, yet service was slow, taking a long time to get food or have any courses cleared away. Wine list was good. We chose the resaurant because the reviews noted the beautiful view but the windows were dirty and streaked. Odd.

The food was delicious. But the serving size was so disappointing. I got the crab chowder. It was literally 6 spoonfuls of soup! It came in a big beautiful bowl and the soup was a little skim at the bottom of it. The servings of the other food were also on the skimpy side, but not so tiny as the soup. Granted I am a hearty eater! But I am pretty sure the servings were small even for those with more modest appetites.

We loved the dinner. Our steak was perfectly cooked and tender. Vegetables and potatoes were fresh and nicely seasoned. The bread was delicious. We shared a sorbet dessert. Best I’ve had. We didn’t have wine. Our table faced the sunset. Our waitress was nice and not in a hurry.
Great dining!

Food is "exotic" and expensive. Service was ok. I ordered farmed salmon med rare, which came overcooked, no rareness to it, and risotto but it had cheese in it and I don't eat cheese. The menu said nothing about cheese. The server was kind enough to replace the risotto with a house salad.

Thank you for a wonderful dinner. Even the bread and the unique oil mixture was very good. Calamari was amazing. The ONLY minor complaint is the Filet came a little under-cooked and then reheated to a little over-cooked, BUT we were taken care of with complimentary wine...the flavor of the Filet was AMAZING regardless and will definitely be back soon.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Dockside Bistro. My goat cheese salad was excellent and fresh. For my main course I ordered the appetizer of 2 prawns and a small crabcake. The prawns were slightly overcooked and the crabcake was a little dry, but the sauce was tasty. My husband had clam chowder and halibut tacos and they were all excellent. They were very busy on a Saturday night and I will give them the benefit of the doubt and will plan to return to try another item on their interesting menu.

My boyfriend and I went here for a “fancy date night”. We had the seafood cocktail to start which was amazing. Followed by the pesto gnocchi with crusted white fish and the scallops. Both of us still reminisce about how delicious that gnocchi was. We would go back just for that dish alone!

Based upon two decades experience, the best and the only good restaurant in Olympia. The Filet Mignon and house salads are first rate. The wines by the glass are acceptable, but not inspired. Deserts are good.
