Dock's Oyster House
The best restaurant in AC...
We had not been to Dock's in a few years. We were pleasantly surprised with the roomy updated interior. The scallops and tuna were amazing. The service was perfect. We will definitely return.
Got to LOVE DOC'S! food is amazing..staff is professional and knowledgeable ..Walter made our sister's 60th birthday extra special!
Great seafood. Thoughtfully prepared. Old school traditional dining. Always a favorite!
A close friend recommended Dock’s Oyster House, so we tried it out on Sunday evening. We so enjoyed the decor, ambience, wine, beer, our delightful server, Bev, and especially the FABULOUS seafood! The Oysters Rockefeller, Clams Casino and Grilled Shrimp appetizer was slamming! We chose the Chef’s Special, Red Snapper, and it was wonderfully delicious! A perfect dinner the night after we celebrated our wedding in nearby Hammonton! We’ll be back at Dock’s again soon!!
One of my favorite restaurants. Food is fresh and delicious. Superb service. Will be back soon!
It was a great recommendation from a friend
As always, everyone at our table was thrilled start to finish.
I had crabmeat, flounder with aspargus ina mushroom cream sauce to die for--- incredible meal! Saw seared tuna that looked incredible. Server was a bit disorganized but friendly- perhaps she was new to waitressing but food was fab!
Again we enjoyed our meal at Dock’s. The crab cakes and the halibut special were outstanding. We will be back soon.
We (my husband and myself) love Doc's. It's a great place to hang out with friends. We have never been disappointed. Our personal favorite (just the two of us) dressing casual during the fall and winter months, sitting at the bar watching football or basketball game, ordering all appetizers and sipping on wine. Looking forward to our next visit.
BTW...our waitress was excellent.
If you get "Doug" as a Server, ask for DOUG "S" DOUG was too busy talking with the "Beautiful People" and was totally oblivious to my wife and I needs. Doug took the order and took the Money, that's it. While waiting for the check he passed our table twice...with his Back to US. WE dine at Dock's 4 times a year and are , "Local Yocals" maybe that was the problem.
The food was at the level one would expect from Dock’s. It was as usual. That’s however, where it ended. The service was extremely slow. Even the drinks were slow in coming. When I received my perfect Rob Roy, it was not perfect. Rather than send it back and wait another long amount of time, I drank it and asked for a change with my next drink. Don’t go there if you have to make a show.
We had not been to Doc's in many years and were very pleased with our experience there. The food was wonderful, and there were many items we saw coming out of the kitchen that we are looking forward to trying on return visits.
Everything was awesome but wish seating wasn’t so close to each other
We had been here many years before, and both remembered the New England Clam chowder from our last visit. It was as good as we remembered. The menu is limited, and much of it is fried, but it was really good. You will need reservations, and the tables are close together. But nothing much has changed since it opened "way back when." Also, it is a hike from the Boardwalk, and not in a good area, so you will need to take a car/cab. We had a really good meal, and they have a large beer and wine list to choose from.
Our favorite place for dinner in AC! We prefer Docks over the restaurants in the casinos’
Great food always, little to noisy for fine dining
Service was not good. We had to ask repeatedly for different items.
Dock's takes pride in their notable local history, and they're still keeping it fresh, both the food and the restaurant itself. Outstanding raw bar choices, classic dishes and creative menu choices as well. Pan-seared snapper arrived hot and perfectly cooked, my companion's sea scallops were presented artfully. Huge dessert portions to share. Worth the budget splurge!
Outstanding seafood restaurant with terrific service
Came here for our annual anniversary/birthday celebration (got married on my husband's birthday so he can never forget our anniversary). It is our favorite restaurant and never disappoints. Crazy busy for a Tuesday night in the fall, turns out there was a veterinary convention. So the noise level was louder than we typically experience, with so many large groups dining. Didn't affect the food or service, however. All stellar, as usual.
A true oyster house setting. Boisterous fun at every table. The classic fried shrimp, which they have been making since they opened more than 100 years ago, are delicious and gigantic. The bar with its own piano bar is fun.
Food is Fantastic, Best Oysters you can find. Apps and Dinner were amazing. Our Server Doug was the Best.
Phenomenal food and service great atmosphere cant wait to dine here again!
We had an 8:15pm reservation on a Saturday night and were seated within 10 mins of arriving. The food was fresh and delicious. The only negative was the noise level was deafening! You couldn’t hear the person that was sitting next to you talk let alone someone across the table. Hey maybe for some this may be an added bonus;-)
This is the second time that we’ve been at docs. I thought the food was just fair. If I were to go back I would just sit at the bar and have a glass of wine and maybe a snack but that’s about it. It’s definitely got an energetic vibe to the place but the food was just OK. And it was super loud!!!
This is the ultimate experience!! You can never go wrong with this place!!
Incredibly well done. If you want great food and service this is the spot. 10 out of 10 on all counts.
This is my 3rd time here. Food was great as usual. We sat upstairs this time and I didn’t like it as much as being downstairs. The scallop cerviche was amazing. I had one of the specials which was halibut in a white wine broth with spinach- very good. The seared scallops that my husband had were amazing. I also really enjoyed the cucumber martini that I had at the bar before we sat down. This restaurants is now one of my favorites for a special occasion.
This is a second time for myself and my friends eating at Dock's Oyster House. It is a great throwback Restaurant when Waiters and Waitresses were just that. A truly great group of professionals and the good was outstanding.
Enjoyed fresh fish. Fluke crudo appetizer was fresh and tasty. Puffed potato side dish was a delicious surprise. Lemon meringue pie was sky high. Will definitely be back.
Great restaurant and what a pleasant surprise. I was happy to find a unique place away from the Casinos to entertain a customer. Food and service could not have been better. Selection of oysters was local and plentiful. I'll be back. Thanks.
Very upset. Docks used to be our favorite restaurant in past years. We moved away and were anxious to re-visit. The makeover is fabulous. After that it was downhill. / We asked how the lobster appetizer was served and were told in chunks, which sounded great. The visual was lovely but it needed to be opened with tools and it was more than the "tails" which was not what we wanted./ We politely asked for our old favorite, crabmeat cocktail instead, but we got terrible hesitation from our waiter. A second waiter at that moment brought our filet dinner to the table which was really RUSHING our special return to Docks, as though it was a "fast food" restaurant. We were offered the crabmeat cocktail while our hot food was just placed on our table. Ridiculous! Disappointing! The food was mediocre, not like in the past at all.
The waiters didn't offer to keep our meal warm in order for us to enjoy the appetizer we so wanted. Just a rush job./Ps. The soup was not hot and also the coffee.
We remember the lovely woman / owner who proudly walked thru her restaurant. She is sadly missed and would not have been proud of our poor dining experience. :(
Dinner is always special at Docks. The waitstaff is very professional and the food is delicious
Seated in the table directly behind the piano player in the bar area. The music was so loud, it was impossible to hear my dinner companions. Lots of empty tables in the main din8ng room, but was got the worst table in the place. Seems every time I book through Open Table, I’m given an awful table. What’s up with this Dock’s?
It was one of the better dining experiences I've had in a long time. Phenomenal seafood. The nicest people work there. We sat at the bar. We totally understand now why it was so hard to get a table! It's "the" place to eat at if you're visiting Atlantic City.
Love, love, love Docks!!! our reservation was a little late in the evening than we would have liked but it was worth the wait we love what they’ve done to the place it is so much more spacious the banana cream pie is my favorite I always leave room for that !
Anniversary. Just a rude atmosphere. Not a place for young professionals.
The restaurant was nice; the food was very good; and the service was very good. The first thing I notic was the noise- it was loud but I still could carry a conversation. Then, the table was moving side to side (something that I think the management should have caught before customers get there). Also, the tables are VERY close. When a guy sat next to us, his big behind hit our table, which made it rock back and forth- and he was not a big guy. The wine list is small but very good although there are some labels that should be removed- still, I would definitely recommend their list. Plus the server seemed like he had been trained on wine service. I believe the value of the food compared to the amount of food was off (i.e. more food)- maybe it was the type of plate I ordered.
If you are looking for a quiet place to eat, this will be a bad choice. If you don’t mind the noise and being so close to other tables, then I recommend it.
