This was our first time At Dock's. It was our anniversary. The food and service was excellent!
Would definitely recommend to everyone. Our server Melissa was great! The oysters were delicious! we will be back!!
The food is great fresh sea food. I told all of my friends.
Cocktails & oysters at the bar were fabulous. After sitting at our table, the waitress service was not the best. The famous”Oyster Stew” was extremely watered down.
We have eaten here before, and this time was a complete letdown....and it was my birthday- no special treatment here...
Food was delicious, been there many times. Our waiter Alexander was outstanding
We came here for my birthday upon recommendation. The place was jam packed so we were thankful we had a reservation. The raw oysters were divine, as well as the shrimp ceviche and pecan crusted salmon. My husband said his scallops were chewy, which was disappointing. I also wish my salmon came with more than some sliced apples and a tiny bed of spinach. While the food was very good, our server was MIA most of the time. I would return but only for a special occasion.
Great evening for my wife and I on our 21st wedding anniversary. I did include the info about our anniversary on my reservation through open table but it was missed by the restaurant. No worries
Have been trying to make time to dine here and now I wonder why we waited so long. Food, service, vibe excellent. Will be a regular in the future
We took my mother in law for her birthday. The food was outstanding, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Fantastic place to treat someone special!
Seating thumbs down too closely sat to other tables.
Appetizers- over priced for what you get - for example $17 lobster Mac n cheese served in the shell of a lobster no actual lobster in it.
Our staters began with the best Manhattan Clam Chowder and Oysters we have had in a very long time. Our main courses were fish and lobster that melted in our mouth. This was our third trip to Docks and we thoroughly enjoyed each visit. We were in AC celebrating a Birthday and dining at Docks Oyster House was the cherry on the cake.
Everything was perfect.
Wow, plain and simple a perfect meal with great service. Grilled Octopus and Wasabi Oysters for appetizers was sensational. Chef allowed us to switch the fish selection on a special... which shouldn’t be an issue and it wasn’t. Red Snapper over a Parmesan Risotto. Truly fantastic. Don’t think....just make the reservation. You’ll be happy
Business dinner. We had their special “Halibut “ and their house salad...both outstanding!
We have loved Dock’s for years. I would estimate about 25-30 times and will continue to go back... this experience was fine
Food was awesome , happy hour was a great value , better then any hotel restaurant.
Great evening! The specials were right on the money! My clients were very impressed. I always enjoy coming back.
Eager to try as this is well rated on many "best of" lists. Not disappointed at all. Food preparation was excellent and justified the ratings. The ambience was good although all parties were crowded into a small area even when tables were available elsewhere leading to higher noise level than optimal. Service was good. Live piano was a nice touch as well.
Danny is an exceptional server. All 4 couples in my party had a blast.
Last 4 visits over twelve months
some up and down
At its best great fish large portions service with a smile
At its worst intolerable sound level smaller portions and indifferent service
The kitchen really varies from visit to visit
Wine list great and very reasonable
May take a rest before returning
It remains an institution
Birthday dinner was exceptional.. from the excellent food with good size portions to the attentive staff it was an amazing experience.
Doug our server was great.
Always a great dining experience at Dock's. Never disappointing. The freshest seafood, generous portions, excellent prices and the nicest servers make this the "go to" place in Atlantic City. The valet parking can't be beat either.
Always a great meal. Really like the renovation! Nice to be able to get a variety of oysters on the half shell and compare the taste, look, size. It's fun.
Everything from the food (highly recommend the lobster Mac and cheese served in a lobster shell and the best fried calamari I have ever had) to the service, and the opera singing piano man, made this a wonderful night out. The wait staff, were warm, friendly, and attentive. I have been to AC a million times, this was my first time at Docks, it will not be my last. A+
Docks never disappoints. Best seafood restaurant in NJ.
Delicious spot in Atlantic City. Would definitely recommend.
It was a birthday dinner place it very pricey with mediocre food went there based on the reviews but I was very disappointed in the food
Food is fantastic, have never had a bad meal here. I would recommend the Oysters if you like them, they are so good and have many varieties. My husbands manhatten clam chowder was different than he has ever had, but fantastic.
Dock's Oyster House has been an Atlantic City staple restaurant for over 100 years! The seafood is always fresh and the service by the wait staff is impeccable. We dined on Easter Sunday so it was a little busier than usual, but we enjoyed our dinner. We started with the Seafood Tower and it was spectacular! Three layers of chilled raw and cooked seafood come artfully presented on a steel "tower" which included a whole lobster, the tail sliced for easy sharing, six Brigantine Salt oysters, six clams on the half, probably a dozen mussels, lump crabmeat, colossal shrimp topped off with a martini glass which contained ceviche. If that wasn't enough, we also ordered the blue cheese stuffed fried olives which were to die for, light and crispy with some zucchini and eggplant "fries" to compliment it. Our party enjoyed the rack of lamb, expertly cooked med/rare, the red snapper with mashed potatoes on a bed of spinach and soft shell crabs. We were too stuffed for dessert. This is probably the 6th time I have been here in the last two years, and it is not the last. KUDOS to the Chef and the Dougherty Family for this incredible establishment, steeped in Atlantic City History.
My wife and I enjoyed another fantastic meal, this time celebrating Easter Sunday with dinner at Docks Oyster House in Atlantic City. A memorable dinner begins with excellent service and it was impeccable, thank you Kim. I enjoyed the Rack of Lamb and my wife enjoyed the broiled lobster tail. Both meals were done to perfection and so was the Chilled Shellfish Platter. The presentation was as good as the taste. We can’t wait to return!
Excellent service and food. Great, clean , upscale ambience.
Everyone is entitled to an off night, so I will give Dock's a pass. Our waiter was either inexperienced or mentally elsewhere, but he was not on top of his game. He forgot to put in an order for one in our party, so even though I ordered my tuna Medium, it was well done from sitting under heat lamps for several minutes. Two Salmon entrees had that heat lamp burn on them as well. He brought out 4 entrees and we were halfway through our meals before he brought out the forgotten order. On top of that, it took a long time to get our meals. All in all, not a memorable evening with my family due to the poor service and and long wait for out meals to come out.
With so many flat surfaces and high ceilings, can management please print out the specials of the evening? Having a waiter stand there and recite these in a noisy restaurant is absurd.
Maybe it was because it was a busy night, but with 2 servers my date and I didn’t feel like we got the same level of attention as the other tables in our area. When you order a bottle of wine, you should get it before you’re halfway done with your main dish. My crab cakes were good but my date didn’t enjoy her lobster from the surf&turf.
Never disappointed eating at this long time Atlantic City establishment! We started with appetizers at the bar during happy hour (excellent fried oysters) and then had dinner in the main dining room. My husband's steak was perfectly cooked and my salmon dish was delicious.
Always a pleasure dining at Dock's
My husband and I were here two years ago and once again everything was outstanding. We’ll be back!
Great as usual. Helen is the best.
Fresh food- loved the crab cakes which were full of lump crab meat. But the real excitement
came with the Maine Chowder. A touch of sherry, I think, with amazing broth and clams! My husband raved about the flounder encrusted with potato. He is so picky, it was amazing.
Excellent food and service
Nice place in Atlantic City where you can purchase individual oysters on a per item cost. Seafood is fresh and good. They also have valet parking.
We went there for Dinner with 2 other couples and we weren’t disappointed everything was great, the food, service and ambiance. Also Love the Happy Hour, we will be back.!!!
