Dock's Oyster House Ratings and Reviews
Best oyster stew I’ve had in 30 years. Simple and pure. No thickening. Just lots of oysters milk and butter to soak up oyster crackers. I was in heaven. The chef is a larger than life personality and Taz, our waiter, was very knowledgeable. The Mediterranean flounder crab special was superb. We will be back! Check out the 5 pound lobster with the chef.
It was my first visit since the renovation and I must say it’s really very nice in the bar area. However I am very disappointed in how close tables are even with the extra room. They squeeze too many tables together. Very uncomfortable. Not my favorite restaurant for a nice evening.
New Year's Eve early dinner was awesome, minor 10 minute wait for reservation. Seafood medley appetizer was great, awesome Oysters Rockefeller, house salad great. My wife had a special filet & Stuffed shrimp, very impressive and tasty. I had flounder and crabmeat over asparagus, wonderful. No room for dessert. Well trained staffed, she had all the answers and was very pleasant , not rushed, clean and good ambience. Great dinner.
A new must stop when visiting Atlantic City! A nice blend of local and out of towners, friendly, fun and laid back. Great piano bar and great pomegranate and pear martini. My husband enjoyed oysters at the bar while we waited for our table. Great seafood menu I had the pecan crusted salmon which was moist on the inside with a nutty crunch on the outside...yum!! My husband had potato crusted flounder which was just as tasty. Service was friendly and prompt even though the restaurant was extremely busy. We had a great meal and a great time as usual!!
I would have giving a 1 star review if it wasn't for previous visits. Usually I look forward to eating at docks when we go to Atlantic City. This time however was very disappointing. Maybe because it was Christmas weekend , but the food this time was some what tasteless and the crab cakes and crab and flounder dish we ordered were full of shells... dozens of shells... every bite we would have to pull shells out of our mouths. And the staff who usually are awesome seemed short tempered and moody. Don't think we're going back.
This little gem is unbelievable! We were staying in AC and always read wonderful reviews and had to try it for ourselves. We loved the history of this fine restaurant and were very informed by our waitress who was very attentive and very sweet. She brought over a sorbet dessert for my husband's birthday since we did not order dessert but was kind enough to acknowledge his special day. We were just to full to eat/share a rich dessert because our meals were so delicious. My husband had the rack of lamb which he said was one of the best that he has ever tasted and it was a very generous portion. If you are in the area, this is a place not to be missed. We will definitely visit again.
Ladies annual Holiday weekend away at Jersey Shore! There were 8 of us. We had drinks and appetizers and fabulous dinners and a couple desserts. Bill was almost 600 dollars and it was absolutely delicious and service was fantastic! Portions were good size too. Really a great restaurant. Beautiful inside and a piano bar too. Thank you for a great evening!
This was my first time at Dock's. The oysters were delicious and the server was well-versed in the different choices of them. I had the risotto special. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the entire dish was fantastic. Our service was excellent. The corn and crab chowder was the best I have eaten and tuna tartare was delicious as well. The live piano was a nice touch and not too loud for conversation. I will be back!
This wasn’t our first time here, but it’s been a while so for a night out in AC we opted for Dock’s instead of Knife and Fork because we wanted seafood. My husband and I shared cape may salts which were delicious as always and both got the Maine chowder. It’s hands down the best clam chowder we’ve ever had. I ate the seafood risotto special which was amazing and a great deal. Less than $30 for a bunch of scallops, shrimp and crabmeat in a delicious lobster sauce. Soooo good. My husband got the crab bake which he was nervous about because at other seafood places, it’s been mediocre. He thought it was excellent. The service was fast and friendly. Being able to see snowflakes in the lights across the street added a nice touch (I know the restaurant doesn’t control that but it added to the ambience). If you want great seafood in AC, Dock’s is the place.
