Dock's Oyster House Ratings and Reviews
We were very pleased with our dining experience at Dock’s Oyster House. It was recently renovated and looks cool and contemporary. Our first dinner there was in 1972 and we’ve been back a few times over the years when in AC. The food was terrific as we totally enjoyed appetizers of grilled octopus, scallops cervichi and raw clams. Our main meals of halibut and seafood risotto were delicious. Service was attentive and friendly but the amazing part was how reasonable the dinner cost was! Definitely worth coming here.
Always a great dining experience dining at Docks. We were celebrating Valentine's Day and there is no better place to go on a special occasion such as Valentine's Day or Mother's Day, than Docks because they handle high volume days like it's "just another day at the office". My wife and I each had a 3 pound lobster stuffed with jumbo lump crabmeat. Docks does lobster better than anyone in Atlantic City. I also had their wonderful octopus for an appetizer along with a dozen Wellfleet oysters. Their lemon meringue pie is another winner. A couple of cucumber Hendricks martinis and our server Abraham's excellent service added to the enjoyment of the evening.
We’ve been to Docks numerous times and this was,by far, the best meal we’ve ever had there!!! Halibut was superb and stuffed shrimp was delicious. Will, as always, was our waiter and makes dining at Docks such a pleasant experience. He’s one of the reasons we keep coming back!!! Love this restaurant!!!
First time we’ve been back since the remodel. I was skeptical because one of our party was in a wheelchair. Before the remodel that would have been difficult maneuvering.
The restaurant is now spacious and beautifully decorated. The food was delicious as usual, served hot. Our main waiter was Taz. I will ask for him again in May when we go back.
I strongly recommend the clams casino and the whole lobster. My wife had fried shrimp which where jumbo but very tender She loved them.
Very good. Nice atmosphere. Good service. Problem for me is they only have 2 types of steak dishes and a lamb dish. All the rest is seafood that I don’t eat. My husband likes seafood. I would like to see more of a variety on the menu for people that don’t eat fish.
The re-do of the facility is beautiful; the service is outstanding and the food is great....
There is a great selection of appetizer and a smaller selection of dinners but still enough to have options in both the beef and fish category.
Salad special was great...appetizers outstanding and pecan crusted salmon was wonderful...Tas our waiter was both informative and entertaining.
Still the best seafood restaurant in Atlantic city and love the way they remolded it. The food was excellent and priced is right. I enjoyed the piano bar. the service is top self.
If you want a place to enjoy dinner with friends, family or a new date that your trying to empress or stop in to to eat at the bar have a drink this is the place
Been going to Dock's for the last 15 years and always found it to be very personable , outstanding service coupled with an excellent well prepared seafood menu. A drive down from PA was well worth the journey for an evening's dining experience. The restaurant's expansion 3 or 4 years ago has somewhat compromised the atmosphere and service and at crowed mid summer times the quality of the menu. All that not with standing I would still recommend just go during non peak times.
Overall our experience with Dock’s was above and beyond. My boyfriend and I came out to celebrate my birthday. We had the pleasure of being served by waitress Melissa who was more than accommodating. In the middle of our meal, a table of three sat beside us. After a round of drinks, a member of this small party was visible under the influence of multiple substances and was disturbing to many. We however stayed beside them and did not allow the attention seeking groups to ruin our night out. Melissa and management asked nonchalantly (multiple times) if we would like to be relocated. We politely declined their offer and went about of delicious meals and enjoyed the atmosphere that we created for ourselves. Management handled the disruptive patrons appropriately and made sure we felt comfortable and well taken care of. WE WILL ABSOLUTELY BE BACK!
Dock's is one of the best restaurants I have been to in Atlantic City and the surrounding areas. We have tried many of the restaurants in the casinos and in neighboring Margate/Ventnor but nothing compares to Dock's Oyster House. The oysters are excellent and there are at least 12 different choices on any given day. I had the red snapper and it was cooked perfectly. I normally shy away from sauces but the buerre blanc sauce was very light and did not overpower the fish. We also ordered the lemon meringue pie for dessert which was a work of art. It was at least 6" high and had the perfect lemon curd flavor. Fantastic. If you haven't been to this restaurant yet you should really try it. It's a staple on Atlantic Ave.
We has an excellent dinner.
Service was very good. The restaurant was not very busy on this particular night, so the pace was perfect.
One of the dinner specials was the halibut and from the menu we ordered the branzino which were fabulous.
Please go if you haven't and enjoy.
We had heard of Dock's forever but finally made time to visit this gem. The menu is chock full of seafood, as we expected, with a few meat dishes and just a few specials. It's not one of those menus that give you a headache trying to choose something! Our server, Will, was great and kept the pace of the service just right. The blue points were fresh, firm and sweet. The shrimp ceviche was great. My wife had the crab and corn chowder and the "small bowl" was enough for two people.
I had the special entrée of diver scallops over risotto. The scallops were large, sweet and seared to a perfect texture. My wife had the encrusted tuna. Both portions required "doggie bags." All the while, the pianist played a varied repertoire appropriate for dining. Occasionally, the near-capacity crowd got noisy enough to drown out the piano but not so noisy as to prevent conversation.
The walls attest to Dock's tenure as an AC stalwart with photos of clientele queued up outside the restaurant circa 1955. It was a very pleasant surprise to find a restaurant with so much history that doesn't rest on its laurels when it comes to service and quality; but the best surprise of all was the bill which totaled about 60% of what I would have expected to pay for this memorable meal.
