Dock's Oyster House Ratings and Reviews
We went to Doc’s for dinner for my friends 30th bday before a night out and everything was perfect. The dinner specials were delish and our server made excellent wine recommendations. On our way out the gentlemen at the piano bar played happy Birthday to her and the entire place sang to her it was a great night!!!
Hubby and I had dinner on Friday during happy hour. Enjoy the docks salad and Caesar salad, raw oysters, New England clam chowder and desert the banana ran pie. Everything we ate was delicious. Oysters were fresh and amazing. Clam chowder delicious and not a thick broth, great taste, fresh. Salads amazing! Drinks hubby ordered Malibu ginger ale and I ordered a gin and tonic.
We sat at bar and were attended by a very warm and pleasant bartender. She was very attentive and ruled the bar. Excellent service. The piano is awesome, loved the atmosphere. We will be back for sure. Valet attentive and very friendly.
The food and wait staff were awesome! However, I was extremely disappointed how I was treated by the 2 young women hostess at the time of my reservation, 6pm. I work for a very large company and entertain quite often, some individuals have to cancel for personal reasons, I understand! I returned the call of the staff on Tuesday and gave them my final count of 8. They stated I never called, asked who I spoke to and continued to berate me in front of my guests! They also said I had 12 in open table which I did not, they changed that, in fact I could not put the number 12 in because you must call the restaurant if u have a party greater than 9! I was highly embarrassed and will never use this venue again! My bill was $800, I’ll spend it at other fine restaurants in AC and Margate! Poor customer service!
I took my mother there for her birthday. She is 92! I made our reservation for 6pm. It was perfect! I let the restaurant know it was her birthday and everyone who greeted us made sure to wish her a Happy Birthday. We were early enough that the noise level was down and she was able to hear the conversation. By the time we left the restaurant was packed and it was getting hard for her to hear. She wears 2 hearing aids. Perfect meal and excellent service
Returned to Docks after their expansion/renovation - place looks great, well done! Food was excellent as always, especially the fried calamari and broiled lobster tails. Nice bar with tasty cocktails too. Our server Melissa was attentive and friendly, making excellent recommendations on the oysters and white wine.
Dock's is an icon of the Atlantic City food scene. I intended to go for dinner but instead stayed for their happy hour. The quality of the oysters, crab cakes, and lobster mac and cheese were outstanding. The remodeled space is comfortable and esthetically appealing.
Based on reviews - we visited for dinner. Truly disappointed. Had to wait 20 mins past reservation time. Getting a drink at bar was very slow. Food was acceptable but not great. Service was slow and inconsistent. The noise level in restaurant is extreme to the point or annoyance. Not a relaxing place to dine. Not sure I would ever revisit.
We love everything about the place. The staff was kind and welcoming, and our server was very receptive to our questions (especially as first time oyster-eaters).
It wasn't too quiet, it wasn't too loud. We were all wearing different styles of dress and all felt like we fit in. It was an all over lovely dining experience, and I want to go back and try everything on the menu!
My husband and I had a wonderful meal! Started with oysters and the shrimp cerviche which were both equally delicious. I do not eat meat or cheese and the chef grilled me salmon with vegies which was perfect. My husband had the Cowboy steak with lump crab meat and asparagus which looked fantastic.
Drink were heavy handed which we like, service was great from the waitress but the helpers either didn't communicate our needs with the waitress or did not understand us when we asked for something.
The horseradish with oyster crackers are homemade and wonderful. Would definetly return.
It is always a pleasure to return to Dock's Oyster House. I can depend on great seafood meals, excellent service, and very fresh ingredients. The halibut is very moist with wonderful ingredients around it. The salmon is excellent with its pecan crust, and the crab cake is superb. I will continue to return to to Dock's as often as I can.
It was my wife's birthday. We started with a bottle of Pinot grigio then ad a beet salad. My wife ordered the broiled crab cakes and I had the broiled flounder topped with crabmeat then we shared the lemon meringue pie the meal was delicious from start to finish.
Dock’s, as always, is worth the drive to Atlantic City from Philadelphia for fresh & perfectly cooked seafood with a flair. Service is on point & jazzman Robin on piano adds to the old-school ambience. It’s the shore at its finest, but Dock’s goes way beyond that. It’s a first class restaurant.
First trip too AC in about two years, had to take the wife to Dock’s. Loved the re-model and the new look. Had oysters at the bar before dinner, great happy hour and the service was awesome. Table for dinner followed, Shannon was awesome. The food was great as always, a definite stop every time I am in AC. I should mention the scallops and salmon were to die for....
We love coming here. The food is always great. And our service is very good. My favorite dish is the bronzino, and my husband loves the crab au gratin. My only complaint is the last three times we've been there they take us to the very back tables on the first floor. I did ask to sit somewhere else the second time but I'm starting to get a complex...hmm. Other than that I'd definitely recommend it. Especially since it's been redone and is much larger and has a nicer ambiance.
My wife and I went here for dinner before a concert. I had two fried oysters marinara style for appetizer. Good. We split the special onion salad. Very good.
I had the halibut special. Very good. She had the crab sauté. Excellent. Split the special banana cream caramel pie. Excellent.
Overall the food was excellent. Now the bad part. Got there for 5:30 reservations. Left at 7:45. Too long for me for dinner. Noise level is high. Not a place for a romantic dinner because you can’t hear each other.
One of our favorites. Food and service top notch. 3 of us enjoyed the Alaskan crab legs, the seafood platter, and a halibut special. House salad with vinegarette tasty. Would have given restaurant 5 stars except halibut was dry and the piano player too loud.
I want to say how nice the staff was on Saturday night....We were taken back by the generosity of the owners, The Doughety Family....We were dining with our friends, one of whom was a wounded Atlantic City police officer, we were treated way beyond words.
Our thanks to the owners, as we have been regulars to all of you restaurants and will continue to be loyal customers.
Thank you again for your excellent service, tremendous food and generosity.
Had a great time. I would only make one suggestion not th have the tables on the wall so close . Hard to get in n out of the booth, my neighbor dropped his receipt and bent over to get it n he hit my arm also you could hear your neighbors conversations waiter was terrific n so was halibut
