A first experience at this restaurant
overall it was good I was a bit disappointed with the Maine lObsetr risotto a bit acidic to my taste but otherwise a great place for business lunch
Accommodated special request. Great setting for business discussion.
Was there for sunday brunch. Fruit salad, muffins, 1 entree of ur choice (egg benedict) that i feel just okay and bottomless mimosa for $26. Service is great, nice ambience with live jazz music performance. Got the booth facing the 3rd avenue which i love so much. I didnt realize that actually is super crowded at the back at the restaurant
The oysters were outstanding along with Dover sole!!
Skip the clams and eat lobster or shrimp!!
Service was great!
Food quality and quantity was excellent
This was my cousin’s 60th bday
Nice long table by the reception area
Everyone loved their seafood plate
From coat check to maitre d to waiter to busboy,
pleasant, professional, friendly and service oriented
Love their $1 per oyster st the bar offer. Wonder if they still have it. This was about four yrs ago I enjoyed them
I've been to Doc's before with good experience. This time was awful. Very bad service. Over priced for food selection. Had an Anniversary reservation a couple of days later in which I promptly cancelled. I'm done with Doc's - no more will i choose Doc's over great restaurant selections in NYC. The server could care less about our table, made herself unavailable to us. It took a long time for anyone to even acknowledge that we even sat down.
The raw bar was decent. All three entrees ordered were poorly executed (The Broiled lobster was over-cooked and "tough", the Linguine and clams were tasteless and the pasta was "chewy" and "doughy" and finally the Tuna was overcooked and under-seasoned. A Chef changed is required. To boot, the noise level was unbearable.
On a positive note, the wait staff was quite good.
Unfortunately, we will not be returning anytime soon.
Nice environment, delicious with reasonable price even though it is Valentine’s Day
Docks is always fun. The food and service are perfect.
A perfect lunch experience on a workday. Staff helpful and efficient. Food fresh. Portion sizes sufficient.
I would pass, many great restaurants in that same area. The food and service was ok.
We ordered two types of oysters baked for appetizers. They both tasted the same and where super small. Server was not attentive and listen skills where challenged.
One entree was good per my client, my wife's meal lobster risotto Harley had any lobster in it.
I ordered lobster roll, not great and for the price lobster was minimal also.
Great love this place.
Since I've criticized the food here before, it's only fair to note that a recent dinner was very good. Brussels sprouts app with parmesan was cooked and flavored perfectly, and crab cakes were excellent - including the Old Bay chips. Maybe the secret is to stick to the basics? Anyway, this place is definitely back on the list for dinner in the neighborhood.
One of several lunches at Dock's this week, maintains its high standards. Clam chowder a suitable start, crab cakes meaty as always. Tuna seared perfectly, followed by the rich and tasty chocolate desserts--pudding and flourless cake. Service prompt and attentive.
Thanks for the Congratulatory Key Lime Pie! (As this was our engagement celebration dinner!!) I tried to tweet it out; Too bad Docks does not cater to the tech savvy, social media pool. (may be on purpose, who knows) Thanks for everything!!!
Waiter was inattentive. Brought enter before appetizers. Forgot side dish. Waiter spent time talking to people at next table. Told us he was there all day and the acted like it.
My friend and I went for Restaurant week. Service was great. Food portions are just right: and the ambiance was perfect!
It is our go-to place for a feel good evening. Works like a charm
Received the wrong entree. For a work lunch in a hurry it’s hard to wait for the correct one. So i ate what was given.
The food was terrible.
My daughter had the Salmon and I had the Redfish.
Both were not good
The food and the service are good.
Always pleases. Happy hour especially good but great on all counts
First time and last time I had a disappointing meal.
Are used to dine there for lunch with clients frequently and hair alone last evening while visiting from Chicago. Unfortunately they probably will and Trey up at four I finished my salad and brought it to me 10 minutes slated reheated and mushy 😞
This was my first visit and I truly enjoyed it. The oyster sampler was amazing, beautiful presentation of our plates and the wine selection is delicious!!!!
I was amazed at how good the lamb chops were, in a "seafood " restaurant.
they were perfectly flavored cooked to perfection.
The polenta with leeks was deliciously spiced---really overall, a very good meal
Great!! Good food
Restaurant was ok, however we were not informed on how the NY restaurant week offer worked, and we ended paying regular prices. For the price, I would have gone elsewhere.
I love this place. Excellent menu for food & wine. Varied menu and great seafood. Amazing service. A great overall experience and I am looking forward to going back.
Poor communication from the host stand. Failed to read notes on the reservation. Once seated we waited 15 minutes before server asked if we wanted any drinks from the bar and another 10min to receive them. The dinner was just ok.
The oysters were really good but they are a little bit on the expensive side. We went here for restaurant week and it was worth it. On of my friend ordered off the menu and decided to get steak and that was delicious. If i was in the area again, i would highly reconsider coming back.
