They did a special dessert for the birthday celebration we were there for. So nice. Our server could not be as attentive because there were only two servers and the place was so busy. We knew the slow service was not her fault. We were dumbfounded at the almost 45 minute wait for our meal.
One of the baked potatoes were bad on the inside. Our server tried to convince us that it was the “eye” of the potato. Whatever. One of our drinks had two fruit flies floating around. The drink was replaced immediately. They should have comped us for one.
Overall the experience earned all stars. Just a few glitches.
Took almost an hour for a cheeseburger. Food was ok. Fries were cold. Glad my casino comps covered most of it.
The menu at DJ’s is varied enough to appeal to many different tastes. The food, itself is exceptional, but the venu leaves a lot to be desired. I feel an enclosed seating area is more in line with an upscale steak house. Although I enjoy the casino atmosphere, my preference is to leave it when dining.
Great quality food
The food was just ok. I had the pork chop and it was a good size chop but was a little overdone. Veggies were well cooked. My wife had the Airline Chicken. The chicken was tough, the sauce was bland, and the veggies were burnt. The server was polite but slow. The best part of the meal was the salad.
FOOD WAY TO SALTY AND I LIKE SALT, CHOICES ON MENU TO AVANTE GUARDE
BURGER WAS OKAY BUT NOT FOR $20 .............. THE RESTAURANT IS PRETTY, THEY HAD A MAN ON A GUITAR PLAYING MUSIC WHICH WAS NICE.........CHEF NEEDS TO RECREATE THE MENU WITH LESS "SPECIAL SAUCES"! COULDN'T EAT MY FRENCH ONION SOUP IT WAS SO SALTY........TO BAD ONE OF MY FAVORITES........SORRY FOR THE BAD REVIEW BUT I WOULD LIKE YOU TO STAY OPEN...........MIDWEST LIKES THEIR STEAK AND SEAFOOD AND FISH BUT RASPBERRY ON SALMON.........THAT IS A BIG OLD NO ALSO FORGOT............FRENCH FRIES WERE NOT EDIBLE WITH ALL THAT SALTY PARM CHEESE AND GUYERE............PLAIN WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE
So happy they are open again. Wonderful as usual. The music was a nice touch.
Had a nice relaxing dinner. Thank you. Our service was efficient and friendly..
The open concept ruins the experience of fine dining. Great food and service but paying top dollar to hear the noise from the casino and having slot players watch you eat does not make it fine dining.
We missed D.J. ‘s during the pandemic. So happy it is open once again. Looking forward to many more dinners there in the future.
Seating was slow. Service was slow, but waitress was nice.
Excellent service and the best steak we get anywhere.
Jumer's was the last casino we visited before Covid hit (Feb. 2019) and the 1st we visited after getting our vaccines. We love DJs and was so happy to see it open. Highly recommend you try it.
food and service good, but items are a little high.
Thank you for returning to your previous dining options. Much better food. Also we do miss the quietness and relaxing seating that was in place before the room was open to the casino.
Great place to grab a good meal. A little too open to the Casino for our preference, but the food was good.
A little disappointed they changed their menu but everything was delicious. Would recommend they bring back the bread at the table.
Awful that is open to the casino. Use to be private and you could go for a special meal. Now it is no better than the café and you pay big bucks
First time the filet mignon was over cooked ! Order both medium well - cook took the liberty to butterfly cut the steaks and over cooked BOTH !!! Turned out to be well done (very dry ) I was told they sometimes do that so it doesn’t take as long to cook . So from now and on ....... we will order and specify DO NOT BUTTERFLY cut !!!
We were greeted and seated promptly after our arrival. Our server was very pleasant and helpful. Drinks and food were delicious and food was hot and arrived at our table quickly and with nice presentation. Atmosphere was pleasant and upscale. Very enjoyable dining experience.
Best steaks I have ever had! Steaks do not have all meat tenderizers like many steak houses. The steak sauce adds much flavor! Kudos to DJ’a as my wife is anaphylactic to anything cooked on the same grill as fish & they have separate grills!
Very good food but wished they had mashed potatoes. We were surprised they did not have cod or a type of fish on the menu since it was a Friday during Lent for Catholics. We had waters to drink but they don’t give you ice so it was not very cold.
Food was excellent... waitress was good just too many patrons to serve. Miss the French onion soup!
Caesar Salad ? @ small pieces of stalk of romaine? Never ever had a Caesar salad like this. Very little Caesar dressing ; very little flavor, never expected this .
Salmon Meal was great valve. Next visit may try again .
The steak we had was not that good it was tough And Hard to cut.., The last time I ate there it was delicious I don’t know what happen this time
The Filet was outstanding. The salad very fresh and the service was excellent.
Our waitress was phenomenal! Thank you Danel for being so efficient and pleasant!!
Steaks were cooked to perfection, as always !
Had never been to the Casino before and wanted to have a little away time from home for Valentine's Day. Thought we'd have a nice romantic dinner. Not so much. Food was really good (expensive but we were prepared for that before we made the reservation). It's the noise from the Casino that was distracting. Would rather have had nice quiet music in the background instead. Didn't feel intimate either with the wall open to the Casino. No way to get away from the gambling floor!
Service was terrible, the waitress was apathetic at best. It was Valentines Day and 7:00 pm, not crowded at all. That should have been a hint. Our appetizers were very good. The wine was excellent. Our entrees NY-Strip for me and the Brick-seared spatchcock chicken for my wife. The steak was Select at best and full of gristle, my Wife's meal was baked not seared and deboned not spatchcock. The Kitchen needs some cooking lessons and the ingredients are subpar for the pricepoint.
Stick with the buffet if you go to Jumers Casino, I hear it is very good and a much better bargain. Fine dining cannot be found!
Food was delicious. Sad that we got these miniature cinnamon buns instead of some bread with butter. The bread would have been much better than seeing two small sugar coated marbles to start.
Excellent service, food, and drinks! I feel the prices were reasonable and we can’t wait to visit again!
Nice place with good food and reasonable prices. Look forward to returning.
Always fantastic food ..... it is pricey..... but worth every penny !
My husband and I dined at DJ's last night, our first time in the newly-renovated DJ's. We both agreed that we prefer the old SJ's and the old menu. We were both fans of the culotte steak, which isn't on the new menu. I ordered the filet, rare, that was cooked more like medium-rare; ok, but not rare. My husband ordered the pub steak, rare, that was also cooked medium-rare and rather tough. We found the choice of sides to be lacking and no mushrooms. What kind of steakhouse doesn't have mushrooms? My husband got a baked potato and I got the grilled asparagus, which was very good. The ambiance has changed from the cozy, old-time steakhouse to a more modern bistro with only four booths. The service was excellent.
May I add that before dinner, I ordered a Southern Comfort Old Fashioned at the bar that was PERFECTLY prepared by bartender Sue. So well-done, I ordered another! We will dine here again, just with different expectations.
My husband and I ordered the BLT. It was horrible. I ate 2 bites my husband, half a sandwich. We both got sick that night. I think the bacon was spoiled. Other 2 friends meals were fine.
The service was a little slow. The 18oz ribeye steak had a lot of fat on it, but otherwise was good.
The food was excellent! I had the filet and so did my husband. They were both grilled perfectly and to our likeness. Appetizers also were very good.
Our baked potatoes were also very good.
We enjoy the excellent meal we get at DJs every time.
The food was incredible! The filet was the best piece of meat I’ve ever eaten! The side dishes were inventive and delicious. Service was poor considering there were very few people in the restaurant. Our server was invisible for the most part. We had to ask someone else to get her. She had to go ask someone to answer two of my questions about the food. I saw other servers telling their customers about specials that ours never mentioned. The amazing food is why I would definitely return!
The water was excellent I had the scallops which were good to great I had a steak that was cooked properly and had great flavor my wife had the chicken which was dry and the rice good
Overall I would give it a eight out of 10
Pleasantly surprised! New Year's Eve special filet w/ lobster sauce was outstanding. Wait staff was very attentive. Comfortable and relaxed setting. Pricey...but had a great experience.
