DJ's Steakhouse-Jumers Casino and Hotel
I'm sorry I don't know our waitress name, but she was exceptional and the foo was great.
The service was very good. We ate at DJ’s two weeks ago and so glad we could get baked potatoes with our steak this time. We think it would be nice to get the salad included with the dinner. Come on now $11.00 for a salad. Ridiculous. Both times we’ve been here the restaurant was far from being busy. Rethink your menu to include the salad. The prices reflect that salad and baked potatoes should be included. I would think you would rather fill your seats. Close the wall back up also.
The filet was good. The roasted chicken was small and lacking in flavor.
We went for our anniversary but wasn’t aware that the menu had changed. My wife wanted lobster but what she ordered was very good. My steak was very good.
I thought your menu was poor. It did not have very good choices. I did not see any shrimp at all.
The salad dressing on the house salad was terrible! I could not eat it.
I was there early so the noise was ok but I can imagine later and on weekends it would be terrible with it open right into the casino, especially when there is a long line for the buffet. I think you need the wall back between the restaurant and the casino.
This was my first time at DJ's steak house. Walked in the door 20 mins late and the staff was understanding and got us a seat. The waitress was excellent! Patient with indecisiveness and our 1 year old. Food was great!! Look forward to my next visit!
Waited 40 minutes for food.
$35 for 12 oz. Sirloin, baked potato and a glass of water is too pricey. Salmon was good.
Had a great meal for our first time to visit hear. Was so glad we were there the first night you could substitute the baked potato for the fries. The steaks were cooked just how we liked them. Our waitress was very friendly and professional, even under difficult circumstances. She was also serving a very unreasonable couple seated near us. Her service and that of others, never waivered while they were trying to satisfy all their customers. Great job!
Limited menu, not at all like the past. Miss the pork chop and the ravioli. Bread would be a nice starter with cheese and oil.
Had reservations for 2 wife did not accompany me on this trip. Service was good so was my steak. However I have never been to a fine dining steak house/$50.00 a steak/ribeye and gotten french fries with my steak that was quite disappointing. My steak was comped which I greatly appreciated but if I was paying cash I would be very disappointed. The ambiance was OK not a big fan of open air dining adjacent to casino a little noisy and people watching you eat while waiting for the buffet. Overall I will revisit and hopefully menu will increase in meals available and get rid of the fries unless someone wants fries. Try baked potato, vegetables etc. Also no bread, soup or salad with meal a little disappointing.
Really expensive and good thing we had coupons. Otherwise, not worth the expense and noise from the casino games. Used to be intimate and not noisy. Renovations of restaurant was not what we expected. Waitress was a bit aggitated at first and we were one of a couple tables she was serving at 5pm. She got more friendly at end of service time with us. Gave her $15 tip for $78 food bill, but she almost got half for her prior shortness. The food was good, but not excellent, especially for the cost. Fries were overcooked and greasy that came with NY Strip. Would prefer other option than fries. Had cucumber appetizer with a very strong cheese. I have a healthy palette, so usually like different things. That was a bit too much. Crab hush puppies were good, but a bit over fried. Corn relish had more zing than expected. Cheesecake dessert comes in a VERY small glass. Berries (strawberry, blueberry, rasberry) came individually in same size glass. More berries than cheesecake.
This site changed my ratings from good to very good for food and service. Won't let me correct it before submitting as finished. 😠
I do not like the ambience any longer. You got it wrong when you remodeled. There is no style or class any longer. I use to enjoy going into the quietness and enjoyed the class that an upscale type restaurant offered. Now its loud, and distasteful at times.
Good service and food were very good. Things were a bit pricey although portions where of decent size. I would go back. I bit noisy with the opening to the casino.
My husband's steak was tough. Mine was very good. We enjoy eating at your restaurant, but for us it's quite expensive
Overall very good, but don’t be in a hurry. Seated immediately on our reservation. Our waitress “Jenna” was attentive and very very pleasant. Sat in a booth away from the gaming floor for a quieter atmosphere. Nicely lit room with nice table setting. Dinner was slow to come out of the kitchen, but was delicious. NY steak and Mac and cheese was one meal and the other was pub steak and asparagus. Both meals served perfectly. Dessert was split- cheesecake served in a very unique way and was exceptional. Will be back again and recommend to anyone for a different dinner than the buffet.
DJ's steakhouse use to be a wonderful experience, but not any more. We went there July 17, to celebrate our 54th anniversary. What a disappointment! No fine dining anymore. Waitress was very pleasant. Ordered appetizer, it was not brought because the kitchen did not have it ready yet. Was brought just before meal came. Steak tasted ok, but was cold. Serving frenchfries with a steak is not a dining experience. Kitchen has to get it together and get food to the customer asap! No one should have to wait 45 min to an hour to get their food. Some people walked out and others complained about service. What happened!!!!! What a terrible experience for us! Sorry but have made a bad choice in your changes. No more fine dining there anymore! Will not recommend it to anyone!
The steak I had was done exactly as I wanted it. Excellent flavor and very tender. Thanks for the coupon, it was much appreciated.
The food was delicious and the service outstsnding! We will definitely visit the restaurant on a future trip to Jumer's. Thank you for making our experience a special one!
Why was DJs changed from fine dinning to a diner? Jumers has a diner, blue square!
Had dinner at DJs, it was like being in a fish bowl? Very loud noise from casino! No table cloth on table, chairs uncomfortable, napkin was from a 50s diner. No bread befor dinner dishes look like old pizza pans! DJs was a relaxing quite resturant, that was enjoyable to have dinner! What genius made decision to change it? You did not need another diner also casinos are for adults, water parks are for children!
Also trying to get in and out of bufett is a long walk for seniors! Did anyone ever look around to see where most of the business is coming from? Also, had breakfast at bufett, has the best coffee, I was taking my cup to casino, which I have done forever was stopped and told no, I was breaking some law!
Well I guess I was breaking the law for ever since I've been going to jumers.
When I get coffee from blue square I bring coffee into casino, oh I guess I need a little blue sticker, than I'm not breaking the law!
I will be trying rythm city casino, I know they have a fine dinning resturant, white table cloths and all!
It's not like Jumers slots are any looser! Too many changes since original Jumers was bought out!
Thank you for your time!
The water was warm. Street tacos dry, didn't like the shells. Our steak while good quality, was way
undercooked, not like promised, Steak was barely warm. Fries are certainly not steak fries, steak
fries are large and tasty. Ours were skinny little things that were cold also. You need to put ice in
the water, make tacos juicy and hot, with one shell only. Steaks should be cooked as the waitress
said they would be. Fries need a complete work-up. Food for that price should be tasty and served
hot. Very disappointing experience, one we will not do again. Sorry. We were expecting so much
The food was good but I feel for the price there should be more things included in the entre like a salad and roll...my chicken was on a bed of rice and my sisters fillet only had French fries. The server was very nice and the restaurant was very clean.
Dj's Steakhouse has been remodeled and a few menu changes have taken place.
With regards to remodel, they have removed the wall between the restaurant and casino. This makes for a noisier dining experience, as well as on-lookers from casino. I am not in favor of either scenario.
With regards to the menu, some items have been removed, making it a smaller menu. Very pricey pieces of steak are accompanied by french fries. No choice of potato, which would be a lot nicer. My fillet was ordered medium rare and was served medium. Bread is no longer served with meals (neither complimentary as it was before, or at a price), which is basically unheard of for a steakhouse and was terribly missed. Scallops appetizer consisted of 3 scallops for $16. Scallops were good but not very large and quite pricey at $5.33 per scallop.
Service remains the same as always. VERY slow!!! We have dined at DJ's approx. 6 times and every single time (yes, EVERY time) the service is slow. We purposely book the opening time, making us the first diners, as well as sometimes the only diners for a while, and yet service is still slow. Our order will be the only order taken and it is soooooo slow in coming out. I have no clue why.
The only reason I have gone to DJs the appprox. 6 times was because of coupons ($75 or $100 off meal) that I have earned due to my play in the casino. If you are paying for the meal, I suggest you go elsewhere.
I really loved DJ’s before they remolded. They atmosphere was better as well as the food. Prices went up and quality went down.
Menu was more limited than before so we liked the old menu more. Missed having bread and opening the wall made it louder and took away the ambiance it had before remodel. Disappointed that it actually was less appealing after the remodel.
Food was good but there sjould be a choice of potato not a $9 upcharge for baked potato also there is no dinner roll offered and desert choices were not very appealing, just dissapointing, also ir is way to loud and not cozy at all
We waited over an hour for our food and they weren't busy. Hate the way it is opened up now, not private and not special from casino. Waitress was nice.
food is way over priced. steak with order of fries for $30+. had to pay extra for a baked potato ($9) and salad ($13). service was only average. waitress only had 3 tables but couldn't seem to keep drinks full.
steaks were dry and not up to upscale steakhouse prepared. bottom line $130 for two very average steak dinners. we will not go back.
Great food but i could only get french fries with my filet ? I am a diabetic and i could not substitute any vegetables? That should change.
Do not like the new open floor concept of being next to the casino floor. Did not like the new menu items. I thought the price of the items were much greater than the food quality I received.
I was disappointed in the atmosphere since its been remodeled. I always used to enjoy going in and having a quiet atmosphere and get away from all the stimulation of the casino machine noise. You missed the ball on this remodel. I dine not just to eat but to relax and have quiet conversation with the person I am with.
Did not like the open wall where people watched you while you was eating. The menu was smaller, some of my favorites were still on it, but it has been scaled down to a fast food steak house, will not be coming back. Enjoyed it before where it was a quiet place to eat away from the casino floor.
The new menu is better than the previous one; it is more varied in terms of choices and prices. The lentil soup was excellent, while the Caesar salad was just fair, somewhat lacking in flavor. The pub steak and fries were very tasty.
We had mixed drinks and wine, which were good but portions were rather small.
Our waitress was friendly and helpful, but the food was slow coming out of the kitchen.
Disappointing - We ordered two expensive steaks and the waitress asked if we would like soup or salad, which we chose salad. Normally with an expensive meal, salad and/or bread comes with it. It came with fries, which I asked if I could substitute something else. Bar fries don't usually accompany a high price steak. Not a good choice to have. Couldn't get anything else. Service was a little slow, but all tasted good. Then we get the bill. Ouch!!! Who ever heard of a $13 salad that SHOULD come with the meal. Needless to say we weren't happy with our bill, especially when the waitress offered the choice to us. She could have said "it will be extra" or it "only comes with fries". Walked out paying more than wanted to and not happy. I will recommend the hotel to others, but not sure about the Steakhouse.
this used to be an elegant night out. They have now changed the whole area to be opened to the
casino and it is now no more than a café inside the casino. Do not expect the pay these prices to sit and look at people playing a slot machine and listening to the announcements from the casino.
The new changes were very disappointing. What used to be a quiet, sophisticated, and delicious dining experience now looks out on the clanging slots that makes conversation difficult. The new menu is limited and allows no substitutions. Your steak comes with fries. Also, the delicious breads that used to come with the meal have been eliminated.
Highly recommend filet Steak was great. It only came with fries. I asked for a baked potato and was told there was no substitute. No good side salad choice. No bread with meal and option of 2 deserts; a jello mix or cheese cake. Very disappointed. Prices were high for what little you received. I paid $42 for a steak and an extra $9 for a baked potato. Very disappointed.
Very disappointed in the new DJs. My favorite items are no longer in the menu . They have no bread (dinner rolls) to serve with soup and salads . Salad was very small for the cost . Soup was very salty . It no longer has a fine dining atmosphere or menu.
DJ"s is now a HOORIBLE DISASTER! NO BRREAD WHILE YOU WAIT FOR YOU FOOD. AFTER ALMOST A HOUR AND I TOLD THEM OUR GROUP WAS LEAVING IF THE FOOD IS NOT OUT IN FIVE MNUTES AND IT CAME OUT RIGHT AWAY, BUT NOT HOT AS IT COULD BE, ONE STEAK WAS SO TOUGH YOU COULD NOT CUT IT WITH THE STEAK KNIFE...SENT IT BACK AND THEY REPLACE IT WITH A BETTER CUT. BAKED POTATOES WERE SERVIED ON A COLD PLATE. NOTHING DESIRABLE ON THE DESSERT LIST LIKE IN PAST TRIPS! HOTEL...NO WATER PRESSURE IN THE SHOWER AS IN THE PAST. OUR GROUP COMPARED NOTES AND ALL HAD PROBLEMS THAT WERE NOT THERE IN THE PAST NUMEROUS VISITS AND WE ARE WONDERING IF IT"S WORTH THE TWO HOUR RIDE!
The menu change took away my favorites the Coulotte steak and pork chop. Being open to the casino makes it less intimate, the noise level and bright light takes away the elegant charm it had.
