My wife and I have dined here on at least six occasions and have found the quality of the food to be consistently superior. The wait staff are professional; available when you need them and out of sight when you don't. Drinks are well made and of generous serving size. The prices are reasonable given the quality and serving sizes. Several different settings are available to dine in while at this establishment depending upon your desire for privacy. One of our favorite restaurants in Melbourne.
This was the most relaxed wedding anniversary meal we've enjoyed in a long time. Since Djon's is labeled a "Steak & Lobster" house, I had the filet mignon (10 oz) and my wife had lobster prepared thermidor style. Both meals were fabulous! Both dishes came with salads, potatoes and green beans, but I ordered an extra side of asparagus anyway. It was worth ordering! We had just enough room to share a creme brulee. Excellent! We'll have to go back for lunch to try the lobster mac and cheese...
Every time we have dined at D'Jon's we have had a great experience. Again this time, the service was excellent. Our server, David, was knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and gave us just the right amount of attention without being overly attentive. The food was great. The lobster thermidor was a hit as was the filet mignon and the lamb chops were phenomenal. Our table, in the back room, was quiet even though there were several other parties in the room. While waiting to be seated near the piano bar the noise level was too much so that we could not really talk comfortably. But once seated at our table the music faded into the distant background.
We’ve been here plenty of times and this was the first time we were actually disappointed. Our service was outstanding, so that wasn’t the issue. The food tonight was just not up to par. Everything was over salted. My steak was way over cooked. The escargot was in a green herb sauce that was so garlicky that it was almost inedible. Even the creme brûlée sugar was burned. The kitchen staff was just off tonight. I’m excited to try again because this is one of my favorite restaurants, but I was just not pleased on this visit.
Also, it’s usually a very quiet place, but this night, there was a Christmas party happening and they were unusually loud and it made it very difficult to have a quiet conversation at our own table. Once that table left, it went back to the very quiet place it always is.
We were greeted promptly upon arrival and the host asked what our preference for seating would be, as they have a dinning area, bar area with live music and outside terrace. The specials were very good and the menu is what I would call complete, steak, seafood, poultry and other specialities. Definitely going to be regulars.
Poor quality in relation to price. No crab in king crab spring roll. Lobster bisque unremarkable. Tortellini and shrimp: over cooked pasta with gluey sauce. $42 veal chop under seasoned and not as thick as a high quality/price steak house should offer. Wedge salad right-out-of-the-fridge cold. Nice selection of wine by the glass. Very good table service (John) but we had requested a quiet table (which we found out later are available outside) but we’re seated in a large room with poor acoustics and a horrendous noise level. Younger folks don’t seem to mind this: perhaps it’s because they’re looking at phones rather than trying to have a conversation.
Excellent food and service. David was a great waiter and the food was great. However our table was in the hallway and all during dinner we had waiters, server and support folks walking past the table. I would recommend your restaurant for the food and service but not for the seating - it was not what I expected and will probably not be going back. Too expensive for such terrible seating.
The food was the finest I have encountered anywhere. The prices are more than reasonable. We were on vacation and booked this reservation based on a Google search for restaurants in our area. It would be worth visiting Melbourne again just to dine here. Everything was perfect. I have eaten at many fine restaurants across the U.S., but this one is #1 on my list.
I’ve been in so many restaurants in this area in the ten years I’ve lived here, but I had never been to Djon’s until a few weeks ago. Now, I’ve been there 4 times already with different people at different times and for different reasons. Every time was a special experience with excellent food, impeccable service, and the best atmosphere in Brevard. It’s become my favorite.
This restaurant turned out to be a real surprise. Maybe I am a bit of a food snob but I really wasn't expecting too much from Melbourne Beach. This place is mostly a quick eats kind of area. What a wonderful surprise! The food is EXCEPTIONAL. First, I was nicely surprised by the decor of the restaurant. Had it not been chilly out, it would have been nice to sit outside by the fire pit. But we decided to dine indoors. Good choice as this restaurant has beautiful dining rooms. The service first rate. Our server, Rebecca, was incredibly knowledgeable regarding food preparation. The steaks are dry aged and properly prepared. I had a incredible rack of lamb that was meaty without being fatty. The bar drinks are expensive but they don't water them down. The crème brulee dessert was disappointing and that is putting it kindly. Stay away from that. But all in all, this is a first rate restaurant and when I go back to Melbourne Beach in the spring I will definitely visit again.
It’s a beautiful restaurant no doubt. But our service and food was just ok. Server just was not very friendly, not many people there that night. So it’s not because he was busy. For that kind of money I would like an occasional smile. He did not mention the special contained brandy as an ingredient and my partner who does not drink ordered it. After the fact he just said oh, well all the alcohol cooks out. He was already not very likable and this did not help his cause. The special was 75 bucks and she could not eat it. I had the steak and lobster and it was ...just grey steak and the lobster was kind of rubbery. I would recommend you give it a try as I imagine this experience will not be everyone’s.
First impression was great - the host/manager was welcoming and even showed us several table options to choose from since it was our first time there. Unfortunately our server seemed too busy to care about us too much, for example we were constantly asking for more water because he didn't refill it. Everything that came out from the kitchen for me was wrong. The dressing on my beet salad was wrong - our server argued with me and then the kitchen just changed out the arugula and left the beets with some of the wrong dressing on the plate. My steak was undercooked (I used to manage a steakhouse) and our server just told us to wait while they re-cooked it. He didn't give me my sides to eat in the meantime (I'm pregnant and just had to wait hungry) or alert his manager. Finally, I ordered the molten chocolate cake for desert. Our server brought it out with pumpkin ice cream instead of the vanilla it was supposed to come with. I told him I don't like pumpkin ice cream and he merely offered to scrape it off for me. This is not the level of service I expect from a $30-$50 a plate restaurant. The food was mostly good when it came out corrected, but not good enough for me to dine here again.
We came to visit our son who attends FIT, and had the pleasure of dining in your establishment. The food was outstanding every dish were bursting with flavors, the dishes were all prepared perfect! The service was exceptional. We were very happy with our dinner and will most definitely return.
This place is truly a gem ! Great food & service - waitress, Rebecca, was terrific - friendly, helpful and professional ! Food was outstanding - Melbourne is lucky to have a great spot like this - we had lunch-excellent wine and interesting food items. Outdoor patio was an added great touch. Could tell nighttime must be fun - piano bar ! Inside dining room very nice, clean and overall great decor. Doesn't look like what you might find in Melbourne- more eclectic - bathrooms ultra modern. Owner pays close attention to detail. Well worth a trip !!
Djon's is consistently excellent. From first greeting to last "thank you" the food, the service, ad most importantly the consistency of quality is superb. We are part-time Cocoa Beach residents and were entertaining Atlanta guests for a long weekend. Space Coast restaurants can be challenging but Djon's is always on top of their game. Appetizers are fresh, attractively presented and well proportioned. Salads outstanding. We have never been disappointed with the featured seafood (this visit was grouper and scallops which two of us enjoyed) and off-the-menu items (steak and lobster tail for the others in our party). Service is exceptional and our server's wine knowledge was up to the task. Large parties can make the dining room noisy and the piano bar does not offer an attractive quieter option. Outside seating -- an option -- may be the best alternative. Djon's has great respect for the food, the service and the overall ambience. Just a touch less noise and it would near perfection.
The food was excellent but it was my 1 year wedding anniversary and they did nothing special at all. I noted that it was our anniversary when I made the reservation in open table. Also, we wanted to split dessert (bananas foster) but instead we were given and charged for two orders and it was too much for us to finish. We only wanted to share and I was hoping for some kind of acknowledgement of our anniversary but there was none. This same thing happened when I took my husband here for his birthday. Maybe they just don't do anything special but I expected more.
