Escaping the heat, we lunch at a favourite spot with chicken satays in peanut sauce & papaya, carrot, tomato & bean salad to start and burrata salad with fennel, shredded cabbages, green mizuni & clementines for our shared main with Naan, ending with a churros base topped with ice cream. Delightful young staff but our Sri Lankan server was Laniruhi.

I have always had an excellent experience here at Diwan and recently brought family from California here for dinner for a special occasion and was dissapointed. The service was OK (not the usual pevel). There could have been more attention from the intial seating (no one to receive at reception) and waiting on water to be filled up were two such things. The manager on duty made up for a lot of it though food was also not up to the usual. The cauliflower steak lacked seasoning and the vegan meatballs in gravy was average though still tasty but not a standout. I will however come back as this is perhaps my only visit that wasnt as great. I would recommend removing the vegan meatballs from the venue and replacing with a real vegetarian dish. The falafel nachos were a standout and the highlight that all of us enjoyed

The service was slow, the dirty dishes were not removed from the table - even though we moved them to the other side of the table. Being charged $3.50 for tap water was irritating. The food was good.

We had a lovely late outdoor lunch. Weather was perfect, service was excellent and the Laki, Asst Manager at Diwan is fabulous. We go there mainly because of how he takes care of us and other patrons.
