Great menu - five of us each had different dishes and every one of them was delicious. Good, reasonably priced wine list - bottles and by the glass. Really excellent service - warm, attentive without being intrusive. Live, soft piano music in the background. Mid range prices. A very good value . I would highly recommend the Division Street Grille to friends.
Division Street is one of my favorite places to dine. They are friendly, and have a great menu which has plenty of choices for meat, fish, pasta, and chicken. We have gone their every year on my birthday and daughters anniversary (same day)and have always had a memorable evening.
This was our second time here before a show at the Paramount Theatre. It was a treat that there was outdoor seating with live entertainment that night. Great food! We had the crab cakes and pumpkin ravioli as an appetizer and the scallops as the entree. We look forward to our next visit here.

Although the event I came for was fun...the first thing I noticed (and kept noticing) were the dirty window panes we sat in front of all night. That should have been an indication of what the food was going be. I ordered calamari and needless to say the dish was tasteless except for the oil it was cooked in. The waiter was nice and returned my dish to the kitchen but because it was late the kitchen had closed and I couldn't re-order. Just as well. Overall, the location is great the music was good...but not too sure I'd come back unless it was a special event!
Our servers were very welcoming and pleasant. Very nice atmosphere. Food was really delicious - portions a bit small, especially calamari appetizer - and quite slow coming from the kitchen. However, it was all tasty and we had an enjoyable dining experience.
After making this reservation, the restaurant called us two hours ahead of time and advised us that the Restaurant would not be open due to lack of staffing. We were very disappointed as we had a show to attend and many of the other local restaurants were already booked up leaving us with no reservation at night. Very disappointed.
We dined here before a show at the nearby Paramount Theater. The restaurant was clean and the service good. Food was fine but nothing noteworthy. A pianist played standards which was very nice. But overall the place was a bit dull and lacking any fun vibe. This was our first time to a show in the area so we might try some other places next time which looked more lively.
We had been to Division Street Grill several times prior to our dining on March 25. This was a pre show dinner as we were going to the Paramount Theater. We had good experiences during our previous visits which is why we decided to have dinner there again. It was not a good decision because of the extremely poor service. We arrived at 6 PM which would allow us sufficient time to walk the five minutes to the theater for the 8 PM show. We ordered an appetizer which was served within a reasonable time. However, we waited forever for our entrees. Our server never came over to let us know when our entrees would be served. Only after I turned my chair around and got the server's attention did he come over and tell us that the kitchen was backed up which was why our entrees had not been provided in a reasonable time. He offer me a glass of wine to mollify us. We finally received our entrees and it was 7:30 when we finished our meal. Our server never came over to ask us if everything was satisfactory. We passed on ordering dessert as we knew that would take at least another half hour. Meals were okay but poor service precludes our going back in the near future.
We came into this restaurant with high expectations, but they were soon deflated. The service was abysmal. There was one waitress for I don't know how many tables. When the appetizer came out, it was room temperature at best. The wait for a second glass of wine was ludicrous. The meal came out after an inordinately long period of time. The meal itself was good, but certainly not wait the ridiculously long time it took to prepare. Would never go back again!
I kept asking myself why it had been so long between visits. DSG is a great neighborhood place with a kind of funky menu, great drinks and wine list and outstanding, truly outstanding service. Osley took care of us all night, was solicitous and engaging, thoroughly professional and one of the best nights out we have had in a long time as a result. Food was good and we're going back soon.
Actually, we were looking forward to dining here but we arrived to find the restaurant closed. A staff member opened the door to tell us there was no chef and we had to find another place. They shouldn't be allowing Open Table to provide reservations if they can't service them!!
The service by the waiters and staff-- excellent, friendly, courteous. The food- took extra long time and it wasn't that great.. Appitizers-that they had prepared ahead of time were nothing I would eat- all cold appitizers-- It was new years but the food was not what I expected to get for the price-- would of went somewhere else to get better tasting chicken with cup of white rice on the side for 60.00 a plate.

Since October the wait and kitchen staff have changed, and not for the better. To begin we ordered a bottle of wine which was simply brought to the table and poured - no presentation, no tasting. We ordered 2 staples from the menu, seared scallops and braised short ribs. The scallops weren't seared they were sauteed in a nondescript and bland sauce. The braised ribs arrived smothered in commercial BBQ sauce. This was after a 30 minute wait for an appetizer of mussels, when there were only 2 other tables occupied.
When the 'seared' scallops arrived swimming, I asked if there had been a change in the kitchen, and my suspicions were confirmed.
instead of dessert, we agreed not to return.
Dinner before show - mentioned to waitress, but service was slow. Entrée was very good (scallops), but the vegetables tasted as if they were made from frozen. Everything ala carte - would have been nice to have choice soup/salad with meal. Not great value for cost.
We head north instead of into the city and that was our first mistake. It was a long drive to Peekskill from Riverdale, but the NY Times in a 2011 article recommended it for live jazz in Westchester. There was a very good piano player, but the owner had taken advantage of a HS reunion and there was a large, loud crowd in the front of the restaurant, and you couldn't hear a single note of the live music. Food was okay, but under the circumstances, it was a missed opportunity to dine closer to home or into the city where live music abounds. Never to return.
One of our party arrived early. She was seated and served a beverage. When I arrived with another person it took a while for the server to ask if we wanted a beverage. We also had to signal that we were ready to order.
Our food was very good and we were able to keep a take home portion in the restaurant refrigerator until after the show at the Paramount. It was appreciated!
Been coming to Division for over 20 years because it is always a reliable place to dine. The service is always good without feeling rushed, and the ambiance is lovely especially with weekend music. The food could use an update though and house specials would be appreciated. We used to go twice a month but tapered off to twice a year because the menu doesn't change. Somewhere along the line, they eliminated specials too. I love the pecan crusted salmon, scallops or chicken but some new additions over 20 years would be a plus. If they did that, I'd be visiting more frequently.
I was looking forward to a nice dinner before a show around the block, and what a let down this was. The service, other than the young lady filling my water glass, was pathetic at best. Slow and a could care less attitude. I ordered a salad that was supposed to have certain things on it that it didn't and to charge $8.00 for it, when it came out it was like a side salad I was not impressed. It tasted great but not what I was expecting. I then ordered one of the specials, grilled swordfish with an herb butter. I have had grilled swordfish many times and I have grilled swordfish plenty..... it has never been black. It wasn't a "blackened" swordfish it was supposed to be grilled, when I saw it I thought it was beef it was so dark. I took a very small bite, and got this strong burnt smell. The bite was like rubber.... I flipped the fish over and it was CHARCOAL!! Not over cooked but BURNT black. I showed it the waiter and he took it back and told me he'd get another one right away. He came back in a few minutes with a menu and informed me they were out of swordfish and I would need to pick another meal. I ordered Steak Au Poivre..... it was cooked perfectly to what I ordered, but to say the cook didn't season the food was an understatement. I mean no seasoning.... none..... NONE. Basic cooking 101.... season the food.
After all the wasted time I was 30 mins late for my show, opening act missed, they offered me NOTHING to make up for the bad experience. Long wait for any of the food, ordered wine for the fish, not steak, didn't offer to change it or comp it just charged me for swordfish which was a couple of bucks less than the steak.
Made the reservation through OpenTable, they promised me it would be put through at the end of the evening after I asked three times to make sure it was done..... had to contact OpenTable to get the points.
This could be a great restaurant if they get it together, I will not go back there again any time soon.
I was looking forward to this brunch reservation with my mom, but was disappointed.
The service was poor. No server came to take our drink order before we headed to the buffet. Once we finally fracked someone down for mimosas, they barely had any alcohol in them.
The food selection was poor, although the pasta was delicious. I was really disappointed in this restaurant after initially hoping for a perfect Mother's Day spot.
This was my second time dining here. Food is good, service was a bit slow and I had to remind our server frequently to complete the requested tasks. Also the bar seemed to be poorly stocked, several of girlfriend's parents very basic cocktail requests could not be completed. I also found the piano playing while nice really prevented dinner conversation from taking place.
The food was better than average but not award winning. The waiter was very nice but very slow. Service took a long time. Make a reservation. We did but the couple with their children at the door didn't and they were turned away. They told them the restaurant was "swamped". Not all the tables were occupied nor were they through out our entire dining experience. Its clear that they are either understaffed or cannot handle a large amount of tables at one time.
