Divino Wine Bar Ratings and Reviews
Pretty disappointed to be called yes called at 00.15am on the Friday night ie 18 hours before I had booked . I stated when I booked on the Tuesday that I had been given a voucher as a wedding anniversary present so why wasn’t I told at time of booking Friday and Saturdays were not permitted .
Food and restaurant was excellent. A little over staffed, too many waitors coming over to our table while we were already being dealt with (maybe they should be assigned their own tables) Asked for desert menu after we finished our starters. Attempting to take away our unfinshed glasses of drink.
I like the way it looks in Divino's - it reminds me of being in a bar in the Mediterrean. They mix good cocktails and I have always eaten fish here and it has been delicious. Their outside seating is also very pretty/romantic. I also find that when I go, it is a little quieter than the bars in central Brighton, which is an advantage if you are there with friends to catch up or on a date.
Travelled down from Oxford and found this modern classy restaurant, Vinney our waiter was friendly and we were made to feel welcome, we both had chicken one with a mushroom and one with spinach with a creamy sauce cooked to perfection, hope to return to brighton later this year will be coming back !
We had booked a table for four at 6pm. When we arrived we were very rudely informed that the ten year old in our group could not stay beyond 6pm unless we dined outside in the garden. It was December so not an option. There is no mention on the website about this new restriction. We h ave eaten here in the past with the said ten year old in the evening and were shocked and humiliated by the aggressive attitude of the guy who I think is the manager. I will not recommend this place to anyone who as the customer has any expectation of being treated politely.
We arrived in the restaurant to be told that there was no table booked for the four of us, they blamed open table for the error and said there was nothing they could do. Didn't really seem to care so we had to leave. This was embarrassing as two guests had come down from London and was such a pity. I have eaten there before but always found the restaurant rather empty hmmm now I know why.
Our evening was spoiled by a twenty first birthday party with quite aweful people dominating the whole restustant.
Staff not the most helpful and clueless about table reservation , menu sekection and just about everything.
Will not be going back
