Divino Ratings and Reviews
Food was delicious - from the calimari and the meatballs and the other appetizers to the duck, pork chop, trout, fresh pasta and soup. Service was fun, attentive and informative. Great for our friends to gather and enjoy interesting food. i loved the apple tart with carmel drizzle and ice cream!
We have been going to Divino for years. It is our favorite neighborhood restaurant. Carlos, Danny, and Fabio always take good care of us, remembering our favorites and making sure that my order is prepared gluten-free. The Chef Vincenzo's dishes are delicious-- my family's favorites are the spaghetti and meatballs, the gnocchi, the handmade ravioli, and the rosemary lemon chicken. While it isn't always on the menu, Divino's beet salad, with its honey lemon drizzle, is my favorite beet salad anywhere.
Unfortunately, my experience was not the best. It started off with them not finding my Open Table reservation. They attempted to seat us at a makeshift table for two they set up in the middle of the entrance to the dining area. At first we said alright but after a minute with everyone, including waiters, coming by us constantly we got up and said we would wait for a regular table. We ordered pasta as our first course to split. Not only did they bring the wrong pasta, it was very underdone, and very small portions. We sent it back. They brought out the correct pasta and again it was underdone and very small portions. My husband had the veal and I ordered the red snapper special. My husband was happy with his. My fish came out in pieces, rather than a filet, and was covered in a funky, reddish sauce which did not match the description in the menu. I barely ate it. We declined on dessert and espressos and asked for our bill. I guess the waiter knew they had screwed up as, even though we said nothing, they provided us with small glasses of limoncello. I like Divino but service and the food have been spotty this past two years. I would ask that they take more care with the preparation of their food and up their game with service as well. It is a small restaurant and need returning clientele
to stay in business.
We had the butternut soup and the salad of the day, similar to a caprese...excellent.! The caesar salad (lettuce) was a bit limp; but entire salad flavorful and the fish of the day, which was salmon, very good. Dessert: something chocolate and a sorbet was excellent again....and the wine was exceptional! The server was very attentive and he had quite a personality, added to our very pleasant experience!
Dinner with our travel agent. We enjoyed Cesare, Calamari Canellini, Sedanini, Pappardelle, Pollo, Sogliola paired with 2010 Fortis Pine Ridge NV, Martinis, GL Chianti Cutrer Chard, Brunello. Always great food. Our table by the window was quite noisy walls reflected room noise directly upon us. We moved across room to a quieter spot.
This is a very good restaurant owned and operated by Italians, which is a rarity these days. And it shows in the food and service. The night we had dinner there they had a large group that really clogged up the bar for a while, was quite noisy and took away from the whole experience. Likewise that large party clogged up the kitchen and had us waiting quite a while for our food. What was disappointing was the server (and i think part owner) never told us that my entree (Very good pork chop) was going to take a while and should have really guided us to order around the large party. So not five star for those reasons. But really good Italian food, and a nice bar.
Things were ok. The food was adequate, pricing was ok but for the food could have been a bit lower. The service was quite bad. I sat at the table wondering where our wait staff was three or four separate times. Also, they brought our wines to the wrong table on first try. And the entree took a very long time to come out.
Everything was great as usual. I enjoy the gluten free (GF) options and have never had a problem here except this meal. I ordered the quinoa and clams/mussels/shrimp. Should have been GF, however I was sick about 2 hours after I ate dinner. Bummer. I definitely told the waiter, but there must have been a mix up in the kitchen. I will be back because this is an amazing restaurant, but I will emphasize "intolerance to gluten".
This restaurant has excellent food. Everything we ordered was delicious. We had the veal, a couple different pasta dishes two kinds of salad and two desserts and all were outstanding. Even the bread was good! Also the restaurant is very accommodating to special requests like changing the veal marsala to veal piccata and adding anchovies to the salad and offering a half glass wine rather than a full glass. Feels like a family-run restaurant rather than a large chain.
I visited Divino with my co-worker during our lunch break, because we are both relatively new to the Belmont area. I looked up Italian places nearby and Divino looked like a great option, so we went. We received a very warm welcome from a lovely Italian gentleman who seated us right away. He helped us with recommendations and she and I ended up ordering the Gnocchi and the Pesto Fettuccine, and splitting both.
First of all, the fresh bread that they bring to start is incredible. You can taste how fresh it is, and the olive oil dip it came with was also delicious. In regards to both of our pastas, they were AMAZING!! The Gnocchi game in a gorgonzola cheese sauce and I've never tasted anything like it. The Pesto Fettuccine was also delicious and packed with flavor. To finish, she ordered the mango sorbet and I had an affogato (?), both of which were also fantastic.
We returned to work raving about Divino and I already can't wait to go back. Grazie to the whole team there!
We absolutely loved our dinner here!!! The restaurant is warm and cozy looking with additional overflow seating in another room. The servers are warm ,friendly and Italian. The caprese was delicious, the pasta was cooked perfectly, the desserts were all great. Did I mention the wine? That was nice as well. This restaurant has been here for 12 years. I am sorry I just discovered it now. I can't wait to return again 👏
The bartender, Fabbio, was fantastic. Made us feel very welcomed when we arrived and kept us entertained while we were waiting for our friends. I think the waiter was still learning English and so he would say "your welcome" instead of thank you, but it was cute. Good food, good people.
