Diktats has the white cloth table setting of a nice restaurant with the trashy clientele from the casino. We saw friends groups, wild tee shirts, business partners, etc all while enjoying our anniversary dinner. It's great food and better people watching!
I have to say previous experiences have been wonderful, but the last two there has been a significant drop in service and quality! We were excited to spend my 65 Birthday here but the service especially the drink service is terrible. When the cocktails come with the entree instead of with appetizers something is wrong. People on both sides of us took the manager aside to complain. If this was just this evening I can understand. Sometimes people don't show for work, etc , but this is developing into a more consistent occurrence. The meal itself was mixed. My wife loves da pork chops and was only fine this time. I opted for the three course special, all I can say it was edible.
Waiting for cocktails, asking for silver for dessert, slow service and marginal food was not the birthday dinner I wanted to experience.
The check came fast though!
The restaurant lived up to it's great reputation. The food was very good, and the service was excellent.
My husband and I went there on a date night and both of us ordered a steak dinner. The steak is one of the best steaks we have ever had. Cooked right, seasoned right, melt in your mouth goodness. Have been telling people ever since to go eat their steak. The service was great too. We will definitely be back to eat.
They were able to hold food for my guest. Great job!
We have been to Ditka's several times. On this visit, it was Christmas day. I suppose I should be happy that we got reservations on that day, since so many places were closed.
There were several things that had been removed from the menu since our last visit, and because of this, we were disappointed. No longer is the French Onion Soup available, but also gone is the Lobster Mac and Cheese!! No!!!! We were SO looking forward to both those items!
Certainly, the remaining menu items satisfied us, and my husband truly loves the meatloaf stack...
Our waitress was very sweet, and tried to be accommodating, but obviously was overworked with too many tables to juggle. Once again, I'm sure that was due to it being Christmas day.
I have dined here multiple times. Never disappoints. Staff make you feel welcome, food is outstanding, and the dining room it is clean, quiet and beautiful. Great for special occasions or causal dining.
Had a steak last time and went in for a light salad and was excellent. Everything on point and not at all expensive.
This was our third visit and each time was outstanding. We were waited on my Marie each time, and she is fantastic. Great personality and service. Very kind, and explained the menu selection very well. We expect to come back soon.
DITKA'S RESTAURANT IS IN A GREAT CASINO. UPSCALE RESTAURANT WITH EXCELLENT SERVICE --SERVER CAROLINA WAS VERY ATTENTIVE. NEW ITEM ON THE MENU WAS TWIN FILETS WITH CRABMEAT AND SMASHED POTATOES. PLUS THE PRIME RIB WAS EXCELLENT. BEEN THERE ABOUT 5 TIMES, AND WILL RETURN.
Great service. Great food. Highly recommended :-)
I love Ditka's and visit quite often. The atmosphere, food and service is top notch.
This was our 2nd time there and the first time was unbelievable. We loved it. Who knew that your server could change the experience. This trip was AWFUL and if this was our first time we probably wouldn't have given it another try.
Went for Thanksgiving special, which was a good deal. Crab bisque had zero crab in it - neither me nor my dining partner had a single piece of the promised "lump crab" in our servings. Main course was good, but dessert was uninspired. Service was excellent and the decor/mood is nice, but they did not make the holiday feel special. Turns out the restaurant is attached to a casino, so maybe that's part of the problem.
It was a classy, quiet fun place to eat. The food was excellent! Some of the best we have ever had! Very nice welcome, quick seating and awesome waitress and server help!
Their Thanksgiving menu was disappointing. We ordered the prime rib which came with mushrooms. I don't eat mushrooms so I asked if I could sub mashed potatoes. Was told no- ended up buying a side of potatoes. The Cesar salad was made with shredded lettuce, like the kind you'd use for a taco. The potatoes were simple mashed yams with bacon on top and the pies were served ice cold and tasted like they came from a box. The prime rib was good not great. Mediocre at best & not worth the money. Expected more from an award winning steak house...
This was our first time to Ditkas and didn't know what to expect. We thought it might be your typical bar and grill. We were pleasantly surprised once we arrived. We were greeted by a nice young lady wearing a black suit. She escorted us to the white linen table in the dimly lit, beautifully decorated dining area. The wall of wine bottles on glass shelves with beautiful lighting eliminated the dining room. The service was exceptional. But the food was fantastic. My husband had the tower of meatloaf. This was not only a tasty delight but a well presented artful dish. I had the crab cakes that were incredible. They were full of tender crab with just enough breading to hold them together.
Always great at Ditkas!
This Ditka's restaurant is a far cry from the Chicago location. Service was not great, although the staff was very nice. They just didn't have it all together. My wife's fillet came out almost cold and very salty. My meatloaf was good but not great. The onion strings as advertised were actually thick rings and cold. If you are looking for a good alternative try Shula'sShula's at Wildhorse Pass. Shula's is ran more like a Chicago Steak House.
Excellent in every way. We will return. Thank you for your excellent service. And the food was wonderful.
Had a great time celebrating a birthday... THANK YOU
Went for our 50th wedding had a great time. Don't chop your Caesar salad Only thing I found wrong.
My wife and I absolutely love the food here! We've brought family and friends here. They agree.
Delicious food and the employees are wonderful!
Our server (Marie) was fabulous and although she DID recommend the most expensive things on the menu (LOL), we were super happy w/ our choices and were very pleased w/ the care taken to make our anniversary special.
Really great service and good food as usual.
Delicious burgers and meatloaf.
They ran out of several things and didn't let us know till my date's food arrived. It was too awkward that I had to wait to eat my food. I would suggest asking them to make sure they haven't run out of anything first. I wish I could say this was the first time I've had this kind of issue.
Was just an all around pleasant experience. All of the staff were friendly and efficient and our waitress was just great! It was our first time to Ditka's and since it is only a few minutes away from our house, it is definitely not the last!
Service was excellent and food was very good and well priced, not too terribly expensive. Will be coming back for sure.
We went here for our 10 year anniversary. It was good environment and service. The prices are pretty steep for the quality of food. Don't get me wrong, we enjoyed what we ordered but $20 for 6 shucked oysters that were kind of dry compared to other restaurants wasn't what we expected. Also, my salad was amazing other than the shredded iceberg that was slightly off and sparse with the toppings. We did have a great time and the food was good, just felt it was too expensive for the presentation.
I had visited Ditkas before and knew I wanted to return for another meal, so my sister surprised me with a gift certificate for my birthday. My aunt was visiting me in Tucson, so my family arranged to stay at the Veequiva casino for two nights and I couldn't waIt to eat dinner at Ditkas. The staff was great, the food was fantastic and the cocktails were wonderful. Thank you for creating a terrific dining experience.
WE HAVE DINED HERE ABOUT 20 TIMES AT LEAST AND THIS WAS BY FAR THE WORST, THE FOOD WAS BAD, THE SERVIE WAS WORSE, FOR $200 BETTER OFF AT SHULAS!
Melissa was our server, and talk about a rarity in today's "all about me entitlement" world! She was SUPERB!! She was attentive, witty, funny, and really enhanced the atmosphere for my wife & I, which was our Anniversary dinner! It was all we could do after we left to not talk about how she really helped made our night special! We will most definitely ask for her when we return, and not only will we recommend Ditka's to our friends, but we'll also recommend that they ask for Melissa! She's a keeper!!
Ditka's is the best thing to happen to Laveen, AZ. It truly is a hidden gem. Not only is it classy, the food is great. The best thing, the prices are so reasonable. With a 3 course menu for $29.00, I had a wonderful Ditkas Salad, Delmonico steak (w/potatoes & asparagus), delicious cheesecake desert, and the best hot bread. Meal should have cost $50.00+. All of their menu prices a very reasonable for any budget. Why it does not have a waiting line blows my mind.
I hope it is able to stay in business because it truly has it all.
I couldn't wait to visit Ditka's at VQ Casino in Laveen, Arizona because I knew they served lake perch. This fish is not available in any other restaurant in Arizona. It is readily available in Wisconsin and I missed it a lot since moving to Phoenix. I wasn't disappointed. The fish at Ditks's was fantastic and a wonderfully large portion, as well. My wife had the prime rib and she thoroughly enjoyed that item also. We will be going back very soon !!!
Ordered the seafood app.you could tell the crab and shrimp were frozen because I squeezed the really salty water out before I tried them. The oysters were on the half shell and were huge I've never tried raw oysters before and if this was the typical serving I won't be trying them again. They were like large ice cold jello chunks. The best part of the meal was the double lobster tail dinner I ordered for my wife she loved it.If it wasn't for the $60 plus price I would have loved it too.
Meatloaf was amazing, everyone truly enjoyed themselves
To whom it may concern,
Both my husband and I are a regular at Ditas. We absolutely the cuisine and atmosphere. In Feburary I brought my husband to Ditkas to celebrate his Birthday. The service was seamless. This past Saturday evening both my husband and took my mother to celebrate her birthday. Unfortunately this was a not so good experience. We had to wait around 10 minutes to order our drinks. My mother was the only one that had ordered a glass of wine. She then has to wait around another 10 minutes (waiter stated they haven't brought it to you?). Then prior to arriving I called ahead to make our waiter aware that it was her birthday to ensure she would have a slice of cake with a candle (I had to ask). This was my mothers first experience at Ditkas and I had to explain I her when leaving that this is the first bad experience we have had. What's unfortunate is it was on her Birthday.
This is the third time we have been to this casino. The previous times we had great service at the restaurant. This time it took 2 hours to finish our supper. Not many people in the area we were in. Our guy took long on everything, beginning with 15 minutes to get our drinks. It was a preview of upcoming service we were about to not receive. The rest of the meal was consistently slow on everything.
It's just great, everyone is terrific
Food was just ok nothing special. Staff was friendly. $50 for a steak with no flavor. Dessert was a frozen lump called Mikes frozen pie but could not even cut with a steak knife.
