Way too loud
Very attentive and nicely-paced service for a large group of 12 made for a really enjoyable experience at a lively spot. The spacious, quiet table at the back of the restaurant was a welcome surprise that allowed us to enjoy the buzz and, at the same time, engage in conversation. All of the appetizers and entrees hit the mark with the flatbreads a real hit. I will definitely return.
Friday night so very crowded and loud. Wait staff was attentive...fluke ceviche was excellent... veggie flatbread was good - olives and artichokes. Overall very good experience for a late walk in....
Lively atmosphere. Good drink list and great food
Great service and overall experience. Had the ceviche and the grilled calamari. Nice presentation & delicious. Perfectly seasoned with balanced acidity. Would definitely return.
Solid place ! Enjoyed our meal with attentive service
Good atmosphere and a bang for your buck for meeting in NYC.
District Social was a pleasant surprise: Enjoyed the food and the service was very friendly. Only negative: Although we were seated in the back dining room, the noise level was very loud, but this is a common issue in many restaurants. The overall experience would have been more enjoyable had it been less noisy.
The kale salad is a MUST! Service was amazing and food was very, very good! This will become a new staple for our trips to the city!
So many choices, so little time! Dined last weekend at the District Social after seeing American Utopia late matinee showing. For starters we ordered the risotto and yukon potato croquettes, artichoke flatbread, calamari fritters, and spinach salad for the table. For entrées, my daughter had the gnocchi;my son had the hanger steak; my wife had the sunchoke soup; and I had the lamb tangine. I am happily overwhelmed by the consistency of delicious food served at this establishment. It is my go to place certainly for theater and Garden events. I can't wait to try their newly opened a restaurant in Chelsea.
The food was not good. French toast was only two pieces and came out burnt. My meal was not worth $14 because I could’ve made it at home. The wine was good though. Hostess was very nice. Server was good but not great. Very limited menu options. Would not go again
Good place to have some beers after work. Good dinner. Service was good. My dish was good.
Poor customer service
very cool spot. took my family for a sunday brunch. food was great. service was outstanding. will def be back!
It was brunch and it was was very good the brunch part but I was still a little hungry afterwards.
Really good food and terrific service.
I've been here for a drink and it was really nice, lovely decor and not too noisy. I was looking for a place to have dinner where one could also have a conversation so one of the parameters I put into open table was quiet conversation but this place was incredibly noisy. There is a very big bar area and it was packed. For the review the highest noise level you can give is energetic but this was more than that. Very misleading. I love the decor here but the food was not great. We;'re all adventurous eater however they had some very odd flavor combinations most of which just didn't quite work. I had the duck which was pretty good. We shared what they called cheesecake for dessert but it was nothing like cheesecake in either flavor or texture. Also the waitress asked us if we wanted the check right after we'd finished our main courses and kept asking quite frequently even though the place was emptying out for dinner so they clearly didn't need the table. I would definitely recommend it for a drink earlier in the week and earlier in the evening or if you want a very trendy and busy social scene.
Good food and convenient location
Great option for post-show drinks or dinner. Great staff! Just far enough away from tiles square that it’s not crazy or full of tourists, but walkable from theatres. Appetizers were particularly great. Brussel sprouts, meatball flatbread, lamb skewers, were particularly good. Mains were good but not as flavorful or inventive as the apps. BUT cocktails and wines were delicious and none of it wasn’t good. The sprouts just set the bar high. Will be back!!!
The food was delicious & food proportion adequate, the place was very clean and the waiter was accommodating and very helpful.
Have been here a couple of times - once for drinks before a show at MSG and most recently, with my out of town parents needing a quick bite to eat for a Broadway show. It's not (quite) well known to tourists so it's nice to be able to avoid that crowd in Midtown. It's also a nice alternative to what I feel like are mostly Italian restaurants in the area. Food was really good - all were happy - the charred broccoli though was very salty. Otherwise, I would recommend!
Fui el 31/12. Cuando reserve no especificaba que había solo dos menu Fijos para elegir y eran muy caros. El lugar y la atención fue excelente.
Brunch was only okay. Portions were a little short, and something like a bread basket might have been a nice touch. Had to flag down a waiter every time I needed something because he wasn’t circulating and paying attention. The ambiance is nice for a pub setting, but wood floors reflect a lot of sound, so it can get loud. The upstairs lounge might be quieter. I’ll try up there next time. Altogether a positive experience.
We went before seeing a show with our teenage kids and we loved it. Great food. Nice ambiance and great martinis!
Food and service were terrific !!
We came to have diner after the theater. The food was excellent and waitstaff couldn’t have been nicer
The drinks and food are standard for midtown restaurant. Like the holiday decorations. It is a spacious place. However the service is not good. Our waiter is very impatient. He even took my wife’s wine away before she finishes it. Would still go back just wish we get a different waiter.
We had reservations for 3 friends who
M et there for a gift exchange and happy hour. When I learned that the 4 pm start of the happy hour was only at the bar, I asked one of the hosts (a guy), if we can make our reservation for a little later so we could enjoy the happy hour. A bit bothered, he said he couldn’t make it any later than 15 minutes since he was expecting the tables to be filled. I understood and we decided to sit at the table without happy hour prices. However, we were there for a little over an hour and a half and the table area were we were seated was almost empty throughout so he could have accommodated three of us easily. Also, drinks were watered down at the table and our waiter, who was very nice, served us the wrong flatbread. We didn’t complain because he was very nice. I don’t plan to return but people at the bar were having a great time.
Food, drinks and service- amazing! There was an office Christmas party that was a bit distracting...
I made a reservation via Open Table and the hostess seated me at the worst table in the house. Since I was a "single" my business wasn't valued. When I arrived there were several other tables I could have been seated at and I asked but she said they were all reserved. When I left, there were still better tables.
The food was so-so. I know it is the holiday season and perhaps the kitchen was over extended with large parties.
I have eaten at District Social a few times and found that as a "single", I am not valued by the hostess and possibly by management. I guess they want the bigger parties and not to be bothered with smaller ticket amounts.
Great for girls night!!! Great atmosphere and great apps.
It was lovely. The food was good and we had a good time. Loved the Christmas feel.
Nothing special.... limited menu.... service could be better
We were early to our sitting and full menu wasn't yet available. Limited menu fit our needs. Nice wine selection.
Limited pricey menu with no offering of a soup of the day nor daily special. They did offer a combo brunch which included unlimited mimosa's or bloodies but you had to order your meal basically as soon as you sat down, which if you wanted that option, made you feel very pressured. The wait staff was not attentive at all, we had to flag them each time we needed something.
Given the limited pricey menu and the less than stellar service, I would be hard pressed to return.
Adam was excellent!
Everything was good expect it was very loud. I wish it was quieter so it would have been easier to have conversations.
It's CRAZY loud and the food is just okay. I ordered the spinach salad to start with and requested NO cheese. So I get it without cheese but with a cream cheese dressing......SMH
Nice spot before a show at msg. Food was very good.
