Extremely loud, obnoxious clientele, inattentive hostess, amazing waitress, decent food.
Grabbed lunch and was surprised by the menu that offered more than the usual farm to table blah blah blah. The food was fresh and interesting. We ordered the beet salad appetizer and shared it. I had the angry chicken sandwich which wasn’t so angry (I expected hot n spicy but it wasn’t)The service was great although the bar was slow to fulfill my beer order (it was a draft). Not sure why as it wasn’t busy at 12:30. The space is cool with a nod to kitchen works and farmhouse chic. The restaurant did fill up around 1pm with lots of office workers so there was a good buzz about the place.
I would def go again
Went for a special lunch with friends. We have always enjoyed the place and the service is always top notch. We enjoyed the food which included ribs, roast turkey and salad. We will definitely go again!
Always a good choice for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Reliable service and good food. Plenty of menu options for anyone. Great bar atmosphere for happy hour too.
Food: Delicious. Ambiance: modern and cool. Staff: Superb.
Very pleasantly surprised by the food. Not fussy, very casual, food could have been served warmer but overall best LA restaurant experience this week.
Food was great! Our server was very attentive and fun to talk with.
Our server Daniel was excellent.
Abundant amount of food. Everything was very tasty. Service was excellent! Drinks were spectacular and very unique! Would definitely like to return.
Delicious and super reasonably priced. Especially liked the chicken and sauteed chard.
I give a big shoutout to waitress Tracie!! Such an amazing experiences we’ve had with her. The hostess whom I don’t know her name is such a nice lady as well. She always welcomes us back since we’ve been going for the past 3 weekends in a row.
Great meal for our first time here. Food was just off the charts. Was exactly the experience we were looking for. Will definitely be back.
Very average food despite smallish menu. If you don’t have a massive selection then you should be able to execute each item well.
Chicharron were bland, but jalapeño dipping sauce was highlight of the whole meal.
Pork belly underwhelming.
Brisket dry and uninspiring.
Coleslaw overly sweet.
Kimchi rice was a disaster. Wet, bland rice with vaguely spiced boiled cabbage.
We won’t be returning.
The food was really really good. Our waiter did not really know the menu well. The vegetables we ordered were not at all what we were told. Did not really know how many ribs were on the whole and 1/2 rack. Again, Food was great though.
Great food & even better service! Virginia is an exceptional server!
The chicken was excellent. I recommend it. I had cordon blue, my guest had free range, we both thought it was great. I also like the salmon.
Awful!!!. Honestly 1st time we went, was slow and not attentive.. this evening, the bartender at the bar was VERY rude. Spoke with the manager... however, the Hostess was the one who was offering the ULTIMATE service. Though I don’t know her name, she has been amazing with us. ALWAYS welcomes us with open arms and always says hi to us whenever we come in. She should be an aids gang manager !!! Perfect service
Food was great. Server was great and the hostess with the mostest marissa was thee best
The food and service was excellent. Beautiful restaurant!
Since I stay at the Sheraton often I like that this is close.......but I so wish the ‘dinner’ food was better. How can they screw up mashed potatoes?
I’m sorry to say ——I won’t be back....too many other choices nearby
Stopped in for a work lunch with 8 people. The portions were sizable but the food was not as good as it sounded. We found the dishes to be lacking flavor. The servers were friendly and attentive.
Great food, delicious drinks, and ambience was perfect!
The go to for our team lunches! Love the ambiance, the staff and the food. Amazing place - highly recommended.
We went to District with friends and overall had a great time. Unknowingly we came during happy hour and it was great. They have one cocktail on this menu and it was a good one. We were able to get LA tacos, BBQ chicken quesadilla, and Duck fat fries as appetizers for $23. Did I mention this is happy hour on a Saturday! We then moved in to dinner which my husband and I shared because the apps were so filling. We had the Korean glazed smoke chili pork belly, chorizo Mac and cheese (up charge to swap with regular Mac and cheese), and kimchi fried rice. The pork belly cooked have been cooked up a little more crispy on the outside but it was still good. We also had an order of the jalapeño corn bread. This was delicious a must have in my opinion. The little issue we had was that the waitress forgot to add a couple of items to our apps order. She was very apologetic and actually took it off our order. The atmosphere was cool and trendy not over crowded but we were there kinda early. We loved this place we would totally come back.
A nice place with a charming atmosphere and great food. I had the shrimp and my wife had the flatiron steak. Both were delicious. Server was very friendly and attentive.
Fire alarm going off entire time. Room is dark. Food is served in strange school cafeteria like tray.
Food was delicious, service was pleasant. We went at lunch, and the room was very quiet, but I imagine it might be louder and more lively with a bigger crowd at a busier time.
First time at this restaurant, went on recommendation from friends.... Did not disappoint. The food was tasty the ambiance comfortable and the service was very good. Would go back, highly recommend.
I celebrated my 57th birthday with family and it was amazing. District is one of my favorite restaurants!
Very odd table bussing. Instead of someone coming and taking plates away, a woman pushes a big Rubbermaid bucket on a roller up to your table and puts plates into it, directly from the table. As a result of this arrangement, she pushed that bucket of dirty dishes past our table about five times during our meal. This really erodes the premium feel they are trying to project here. Food was good, cocktails good. But the ambiance was lacking and didn’t seem as upscale as it wants to be.
Thought there was a full menus only bar happy hour food.
Good food, good service, lively ambiance. One member of our party of 5 said she had a hard time hearing the conversation, so next time we'll ask for a booth in the corner. Those of us trying to cut carbs did note that the "roasted vegetables" our waiter said would be green vegetables actually contained mostly potatoes.
Great lunch place if you work downtown. Good value and quiet, comfortable place to relax. Cocktails were great!
great food, and great friendly and accommodating service. would definitely go back
Our server Enrique was one of the highlights of our meal, he was wonderful. Fantastic customer service. Food was delicious.
A friend and I stayed at the Sheraton Grande for a girls weekend away. It was her birthday. We ate dinner at the District and the food and service couldn't be better. The waiter was very attentive and gave us great advice as to what to order. I had the brisket which was so tender it cut with a fork. My friend had the salmon which she thoroughly enjoyed. The sweet potato fries were terrific. Then the waiter brought us an incredible flourless chocolate cake, free of charge, for my friend's birthday. It was decadent and so good.
We also had breakfast there the following morning. The food was again great and the waitress was incredible. She refilled coffee often and even asked if we wanted a cup to go when we left.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
Very polite staff and outstanding drinks. Delicious food choices and good portions.
We ate here while we were staying at the hotel. We were pleasantly surprised by the good food and cool atmosphere.
I guess I didn't really get it. Food was served on fairly deep white trays rather than plates. Felt like a school meal where someone forgot to use a plate. Service was a little over-the-top. Being asked "May I?” Every time something was picked up or put down just seemed pretty pretentious and unnecessary. We also didn't particularly like being called 'young man’ and 'young lady’ when we were at least same age as the server if not older. My wife did think the Salmon tasted really good but she didn't each much of the accompaniments. I had half chicken which leaked grease into the tray and tasted of nothing. The whipped potatoes and roasted vegetables in their own little dishes would have fed a hamster. Apparently the steak (NY Strip) tasted good but it was tiny. The cauliflower was okay but really something and nothing. The bread and butter pudding dessert was good though and so was the NY Cheesecake. My wife ordered the chocolate torte but couldn't eat it as she has a nut allergy and it seemed that it may have had nuts in - we weren't confident and so she left it. No-one came back to check it was alright until the bill was brought despite the fact I hadn't asked for it. We had breakfast in the same place the next morning (we were staying in the hotel) and it was pretty good tbh. I would not make another trip there though.
Not sure if it's because it's in a mall in DTLA, but this place should be a lot more crowded. Excellent food, excellent service and very cool atmosphere. Highly recommended.
