It's a bit difficult to find because the elevator to the basement is non-intuitive, but it is very much worth the search. Food excellent, imaginative, tasty, and the service was superb and friendly.
In the Sheraton Hotel. Downstairs next to a cool bar. Physically attractive. Almost too quiet. Roast beef was very good, so was steak. Branzino was pretty good. Service painfully slow but friendly. Good place to eat before going to Lakers/Clippers game--good 10-12 minute walk. Parking across the street for $6. Might go back but not compelling.
Decent food. Great service. We had brunch and they were very accommodating to our special food requests.
Altho parking is a drag and finding the location was frustrating, it was def worth it. Located underground the Sheraton Hotel by the Macys, public parking across the street. Love the decor. Very Great Gatsby meets speakeasy meets casual/boujie. Cocktails are very good with unique presentation. Happy hour has a great selection of good foods as does the regular menu.
Tried the tacos, fries, brussle bruschetta, salmon, tuna tartar (wish it had chips instead) and bread pudding (not the best). I would rate them great to ok in that exact order too.
Our waiter was super nice super helpful and professional. Would def recommend to friends.
Pretty poor service and basic food. Fine if you wanna have food with kids, but not a grownup get together.
There was only about 3 tables taken and the service left much to be desired. We didn’t get our order taken until 20 minutes for both drinks and food. It took so long we ordered drinks, appetizers, and dinner at the same time. Our drinks didn’t come out for another 15 minutes. Our server checked on us maybe once. The tuna tartare didn’t taste fresh one bit either. I was hoping for a great dinner and was left feeling quite deflated... not a very good experience and won’t be coming back...
Elegant but casual feel. Menu includes comfort foods as well as great salads; something for any diet. Good bar and cocktail menu. Several local craft beers on tap. My friend tried the Vietnamese French Dip with side salad and I had the Kale Cobb. Both were fantastic. Also ordered the Grilled Asparagus for appetizer; excellent too. Looking forward to the ribs on my next visit. Service was great. Bar looks very inviting for happy hour; would be a great place to meet friends. Highly recommend.
Disappointed in the servers’ lack of knowledge about the menu and drinks. Management clearly doesn’t have effective pre-open meetings to ensure the servers know the daily cocktail and what’s in it or how some of the menu items are prepared. The entry door is a hazard, won’t open and staff just watches you struggle with it rather than helping, to the point where you leave thinking there must be another entrance. Never saw a manager walk the floor in the two hours we were there. It’s these things that start to tank a restaurant. Good luck! The food was good.
Super convenient to ride the metro from West Los Angeles. Wonderful food and good beer selection. A nice place to go before the concert at the Microsoft theater.
The reviews I saw seemed good. But the reality did not deliver. The service was good and prices weren't bad. But, the restaurant smelled smoky, like fire. The wine list by the glass was limited and mediocre. Both the taco appetizer and the broccolini bruschetta appetizer were disappointing. The mushroom ravioli sounded delicious and was good but was dry with almost no sauce. The cheesecake I was told was New York cheesecake but was not. Overall the food was a dud and I don't recommend going or returning.
Great cocktails, the food was really exciting and Virginia (our server) was outstanding and really an ambassador for the customer service, the restaurant and the food and drinks they serve. We’ll certainly go back.
The restaurant is in a good location, decor nice modern/industrial, cozy, service was great maybe because it was kind of empty, but I was disappointed with the food, for the prices and the scale of the restaurant , I was hoping for better tasting food...parking with validation was $10. I could’ve valet for $8.00
This restaurant has a Friendly and competent staff and good food and cocktails.
First time and it was delicious!! GENOVA was our waitress and was amazing. She made you feel VIP. Definitely coming again. The drinks are so fun and the food was great. TIP:
The hotel lobby needs a sign where to go.
Drinks & food is amazing our waitress Virginia had great customer service. This is my 2nd time I’ve eaten here so I invited my friends to meet for dinner. Everyone was very pleased with their food. We will definitely be coming back!
While in LA, we were looking for a great place and came across the District, though it is in a area of LA called the BLOC and somewhat hidden from street view! They had some unique drinks on the menu - so had to try a drink called the Penicillin (who can go wrong with Scotch). They had a great selection of appetizers - including deviled eggs and tuna tartar. The food was great as well and had a great time! It has great atmosphere and tucked away - a must see place to visit!
Walked into District and it was almost empty. Not a problem as I was not there to be seen. The bar does not open until 11am so limited to Mimosas and Bloody Marys. Not too much of an issue though choice is always good. Food was great and service was friendly, attentive and generous.
This restaurant has a great menu, lots of choice and creative and thoughtful dishes. We went on a Tuesday evening and it was a little quiet which meant the service was fantastic! It is useful to know this restaurant is in the basement of the Sheraton Hotel, we struggled to find it at first.
Always love going to District and is an often-visited place of mine at any time of day. The best Happy Hour menu in LA.
Tacos were cold and ribs undercooked and chewy. When we showed the waiter he got us new tacos but told us that was the way they prepared the ribs. I ate the ribs (they were terribly undercooked) then the Mgr contradicted the waiter and told me that they were not prepared right. My stomach hurt later but fortunately they did not make us pay for our meal
Virginia was one of the best food servers I have ever had! Ask for her, you will not be sorry!
Great DineLA menu and food. Amazing service. Will most definitely come back soon 👍🏻
Spectacular! Genovia, Carlos and Jose took good care of us, made excellent recommendations and made the entire night very special. Great cocktails too!!
Overall food and service wad great!
We went for DineLA and Newbury was a great deal. Food portions were a good size too.
Visited for Dine LA. Waitress very pleasant but chatty. Was slow to bring drinks. Food was average
Came here for dineLA. I made a reservation for a Saturday night at 6:00 p.m., and it was completely empty. This made us a little skeptical about the place, but it really picked up and was crowded by 7:00 p.m.! The ambiance was cool. They have both booth and table seating. It looks like they are able to accommodate large parties as well. The bar is separate from the restaurant seating area. Overall, food was pretty good. The deviled eggs were my favorite! The salmon was moist and delicious as well. The vegetable dish, however, was way too salty. Service started out well. Our water glasses were consistently filled. As the night went on, however, our server barely came to check on us. The dessert took about 20 minutes to come out, and our server could not be found when we wanted to ask for the check. It took him quite a long time to return our cards as well.
It was outstanding. The food tasted great. The service was superb and he price was reasonable
I've eaten at District a couple of times and found the service to be exceptional. Really amazingly friendly and helpful staff, and a solid menu with quality food to boot.
Great restaurant for getting together with friends or colleagues for tasty food and cocktails
District was a safe, fun place to spend New Years Eve. It felt family friendly and could accommodate myself and a friend for last minute plans. The food was nicely done and adventurous. The band played easy going music which was enjoyable for tastes.
We ate here for New Years Eve and had the set menu. Everything was absolutely awful. Dry chewy sea bass, unseasoned bland prime rib, watery and gritty crime brulee. It was a complete rip off at $450+ for 4 people. Ruined out night and they didn’t even offer to fix the watery creek brulee for us even though they agreed it was bad.
Food was under cooked and extremely dry. Dessert was horrible as well!
We went to District for breakfast as we were staying at the Sheraton and it was a convenient option. Steak and eggs was very good. My nine year old enjoyed the buffet and the very good selection of fresh fruit. My wife thought the Eggs with ranchero sauce was an excellent gluten free option.
Attentive and courteous service. We were seated right away. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. I met with my family there for Christmas Dinner and we all enjoyed everything about our dinning experience. I will definitely dine there again.
We went to The District for cocktails and dinner on Christmas Eve. This restaurant is in the Macy's Plaza (fka Broadway Plaza) on Flower Street, DTLA. It is a block walk from Metro Center. Food was good - the ribs were outstanding. The calmari/octopus appetizer was very interesting and good. The flourless chocolate cake was very good. Our server was Daniel who was extremely nice and has to be the hardest working server around. The only problem is if you want a dry Vodka martini tell them NO VERMOUTH (the bartender had to come out to our table to find out specifically how we wanted our martinis).
Arrived at 5:50 and ordered starters, drinks while our other guests arrived. 6:30 ordered main course. At 7pm food came out of kitchen but was for the table of 14 that was seated eating starters when we arrived. No one else in restaurant had their meals. We had tickets for the Disney hall down the street for 7:30 so I called the waitress over and told her we had to leave in 15 mins. Half of us ordered hanger steak which takes 6 mins to cook. 7:15 no food and had to leave. Was charged for all our drinks and 3 starters which was $200. Had no idea I would need to mention to the waitress that we need to be finished in an hour and 15 mins. The restaurant was pretty empty. A little disappointing but it did not ruin the evening. I love my family
For a Friday night it was not very busy, which was exactly what we were looking for, the food was good and the service outstanding. A good place to try
The menu is creative and well executed. Service has been good each time. Allows corkage but I wish the fee was a bit lower.
Hipster spot at the Bloc. Our experience started out with 3 different servers asking to take our drink order. Finally we were introduced to our real server who was very helpful with our lunch selections. She said the mac n cheese was amazing, but we found it to be dry. Everything else we ordered: Deviled eggs, Wagyu meatloaf, sweet fries, and salmon were all excellent.
