Dish n' Dat Ratings and Reviews
As always - Dish n Dat is OK. Not great, but OK. Pricing remains $2-$4 more per entre than it should be for the location and type of food they offer. The atmosphere is just OK - there are elements of a 50's diner and a sort of 'atomic café vibe, but the effort is half-hearted. Weekend breakfast is very good, but they don't open nearly early enough on a Saturday morning. Place could be a Canton gem, but they just don't seem to get what they have to do to improve.
I am a big fan and frequent diner at Dish in downtown Hartford - I would love to be able to have a similar feeling about Dish n Dat.
I've been to Dish and Dat several times recently. I live in NYC, but head back to Canton CT regularly for work. I'm always impressed with the food and service there. The menu is wide-ranging, like a 24 hour diner, but all the food is the quality of a top rated restaurant. I love that I can go there and always have something new, but also know it will be great food.
This was our first time at Dish n Dat and we loved it! We went there for a Mother's Day breakfast and will definitely be back! We had a reservation but expected that there might be a wait time due to the holiday but we were seated on time. Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and the service was top notch! We look forward to coming back very soon!
It took over an hour to have breakfast served and the food was tasteless and not cooked properly and way overpriced!!!! We called the manager over to tell him how dissatisfied we were and he didn't even apologize - he grabbed our check with attitude and said we were all set. Don't waste your time. I didn't think it was possible to screwup breakfast! They need new cooks!chefs.
We were a party of 7 and reserved via Open Table for a Sunday Brunch before a theatre matinee. Service was very attentive & anticipatory. Food was hot and very good. We were happy to have standard breakfast options along with some more interesting choices.
Portion sizes were very generous (even the short stack of pancakes). A few of us enjoyed the "Breakfast Happy Hour" $3 mimosas! We intend to return soon.
Dish N Dat is consistently so very good ! Great place aways especially when no one know exactly what they want for dinner! The menu is extensive and will have something Great for everyone ! Breakfast all day! Amazing French toast ! Great omelettes! Super burgers! Soups , salads , you name it !
A great restaurant!
We have been here many tunes before and everything is usually fine. This time I came in with my two small children. We waited for almost 10 mins before being noticed. Thankfully another server from another section stopped and took care of us. Jessica was very friendly and took our order right away. She was also very helpful when we needed some extra assistance. Thank you Jessica for saving the night; otherwise we would have left and gone somewhere else.
A stop on our way home from the airport with 8 and 11 year old . Very welcoming, friendly staff. Food was tasty and fresh. Good value. American all day menu will suit everyone's taste. Music nights with "Chris and Roland" in the bar are great fun with good food. A happy place.
Seated promptly (with reservations). The hostess/manager, Kimmie, was a delight. Friendly and efficient. We both had salads, Greek and Summer with added grilled chicken. Everything was fresh and quite tasty. I tried the matzo ball soup and was pleasantly surprised. Very light matzo ball, carrot and celery, and shredded chicken. Our server, Sean, was attentive without being overbearing. We recommend Dish n Dat and will certainly return.
We have been here before and like the restaurant. The milkshake was really good and the kids enjoyed their dinners. The only thing was that my burger was rock hard. WAY over cooked. Also it wasn't the burger I had ordered (I ordered a buffalo spice style burger and this basically came out as a cheeseburger ) The other 4 people in our party enjoyed the meal and they were on time with our reservation. We would return here !
Absolutely love this restaurant. The service is friendly and quick. The food is great. The tomato soup is delicious. We both got a cup but I thought I should have had a bowl. Had breakfast for dinner, omelette with Swiss cheese and salsa with giant home fries. Had enough home fries for breakfast the next day, too. Really tasty and good.
Jim had two hot dogs with chili and french fries. He ate every bit!
The food was good. The service excellent. Very attentive. Four people ordered the lobster roll. It was disappointing . Overcooked and too little butter. The slaw was great as were the onion strings. The wine list was sparse. We will be back. But not at an hour (5-6pm) when there are many loud kids.
