Great food and service. We should have made sure we told the server when we arrived that we were trying to go to a show at 8PM. We received our food at 7:50 PM and decided not to rush and arrived at the show at 8:15PM. Perhaps we could have ordered our entrée at the same time as the apps and if we did not have enough time for certain entrees we could have ordered something different.
We had a terrific dinner before attending a play at Hartford Stage. The service was attentive and the food was terrific.
We enjoyed Dish as always. Great food, fine beer and wine and super atmosphere.
Good food, service and ambience.
My husband and I went to Dish for our wedding anniversary and the food was delicious. Different varieties of food and drinks. The atmosphere was nice it was a quiet which was nice for a intimate evening.
Food disappointing, especially eggs Benedict...I much prefer Canadian bacon and no tomato...prosciutto impossible to cut. Maybe a steak knife would help? Also too noisy for relaxed Subpnday brunch experience.
Dish never fails to deliver! Cauliflower tacos, duck nachos and all the entrees in-between! Lovely staff and ambiance. We will be back soon!
It was a little loud, but it was St Patrick's day at around 8pm so I can't complain. Food was excellent as usual (the trio of ahi tuna is something I come back for time and time again). We had a group of 8 turn into a group of 6 due to a last second cancellation and they were happy to accommodate. Server (can't remember her name) was kind and attentive. One of my favorite restaurants.
My husband and I have been to Dish several times and have always enjoyed the food and service. It is definitely a restaurant we have raved about to friends. This time though we were a little disappointed by the service. We were sat in a section by ourselves, which we had been asked if that was ok by the hostess before she sat us. We were happy to sit there, because although the restaurant was not very noisy, it provided us with a nice quiet area, which was very much appreciated after both of us had had kind of hectic day at work. The drinks and the food that we ordered were very good; I would highly recommend the tomato pie, it was amazing! However, I cannot say the same about the service. We were there for a bit of an early dinner 5:45 pm on a Thursday (we were catching dinner before a show), and thought that with such an empty restaurant we would have seen our waiter more. Due to the fact that Dish is a bit of a nicer restaurant there are a few criteria that I expect from it. The first one being that the water glasses never have a chance to be emptied, and if they are, they are not empty for long. That was not the case on Thursday. Although they came around once to refill our water, they never came back. The second criteria is that we are able to finish our appetizers before we are given our main course. Unfortunately, that was not the case this time. Lastly, I kind of expect the waiter to come around and check to make sure everything was ok once we have gotten our meals and see if we wanted something else. I was a bit disappointed with this one, because I would have ordered another cocktail. Despite the not so wonderful service, the food and drinks were as good as we had remembered them, and we would not hesitate to go back. However, if our next few visits are similar to this one, it may be time to find another go to place in Hartford.
We had a delicious meal, and enjoyed the ambiance and excellent service very much. My daughter and I are gluten free, and the entire staff was helpful and conscientious when there was a mix up with one of our gluten free dinners. The wait for the corrected meal was worth it though because the food was outstanding! We will definitely dine there again before our next visit to the Hartford Stage!
I really enjoyed one of the vegetarian dishes, a ramen/roasted sweet potato/tofu soup with bok choy and mushrooms. Wonderful flavors and textures, very satisfying. My friend loved the ahi trio and the one he allowed me to sample (the ahi with wasabi mashed potato) was delicious.
The food was excellent! The restaurant got a bit busy, but our server did an excellent job!
They didn’t have enough servers on staff, so service was slow. Our clothes smelled awful after leaving the restaurant.
The ambience in the facility itself is beautiful, the service left a great deal to be desired.
Really unhappy with the waitstaff for an evening that was not particularly busy.
Food was good although the salmon was a little overcooked.
I would probably give this location another chance, but I would ask for a different server
Ate there before an event nearby. Took a long time to get our meal, didn’t get bread until after entrees were delivered, waitress service was good not great. We had the tomahawk swordfish and it was great, as were the Brussels sprouts.
Being Valentine’s Day, the goal is to make everything perfect. Being next in line to mention our reservation there was a couple that came in and stood next to us. The hostess had already seen us waiting and took the other couple to their reserved table first. Let me tell you, I find this unprofessional from a more refined restaurant. Then when being seated, she asked if we would like her to take our coats. We did, and I first took off and handed her my date’s coat. Then, while starting to remove my suit jacket, she asked “oh, would you like me to take yours as well?” Where did you find this hostess? The rest of the evening went fairly well, frequent visits to ensure our satisfaction. Food was okay.
Will not be returning.
Everything was spectacular as always.
Chicken cutlet for dinner was the best I’ve ever had also the gooey something caramel desert was amazing. Very nice place with amazing food
Delicious food, as always! The tuna dish was absolutely beautiful, and the salmon cooked to perfection
Great meal with excellent service! Staff was great!! Desserts were to die for!!
Dish is a favorite treat in downtown Hartford. Menu is creative and food is all wonderful. Service is good. It can be a bit noisy when crowded. Highly recommended.
We had a wonderful time dining and the food was wonderful. Both steaks were cooked perfectly, as was my salmon, and the duck Pho was lovely. We enjoyed the potato chip fondue as well. The service was great and our waiter was personable and attentive. He made sure we were out in time for our theater tickets, and that included time for some amazing desserts! We couldn't decide which was our favorite, the gooey cake or the chocolate cream pie! Completely recommend for a pre theater meal or a great night out.
The waitstaff was very accommodating as we wanted more time to chat and they were closing. The food was wonderful
Overall it was a bit average. Gnocchi was too salty. Never got bread. Food deliver was inconsistent.
Nice New Years Eve place!
New to Hartford; I'd say hidden gem but it is right on Main St; we did go on 12/23 and was not crowded for some bizarre reason. Food was excellent. Service spot on, decor, clean etc. Price point is right for the quality you get. Will absolutely return.
Dish never disappoints us. The food was excellent. It was my first experience eating there for lunch (we usually have dinner there) and there were plenty of delicious options on the menu. I did feel the service could have been a bit faster.
Me and a guest for lunch. Place was blown. Large Holidays parties. Place packed. Waiter service was spotty to say the least. Got there at 12, served at 12:53. Food was great as always.
Excellent, attentive service. Food and prep quality was very good. Nice ambiance and very quiet. Great location for a special, intimate dinner or a large gathering.
Shaun was an excellent server. Food was great!
Last minute reservation made for same night, group of 9 for Birthday dinner. Every dish was delicious, wait staff was excellent. Can’t wait to go again. Even had my leftovers for breakfast!
I think all of our lunch meals (burgers and salads) turned out well prepared, except for my side of grilled chicken that I ordered with my salad. It was so overcooked and dry that I need water with every bite in order to be able to eat it. I understand the need to cook poultry, but I believe this chicken was pre-grilled and then re-heated resulting in a totally overcooked/dry piece of chicken. I won't make that mistake again.
Our group vegan raved about the Impossible Burger, which I think I will definitely try next time.
Food was average considering price and two meals arrived cold
Thank you to the staff at Dish for an outstanding business lunch for a large party! The service was friendly and prompt. The menu impressed my client, and our large party was seated in a very intimate area of the restaurant. Highly recommended for a business lunch for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.
We came for Taste of Hartford special; Dish is one of our favorite places already. We were not disappointed. Superior food for the money and the atmosphere is always excellent! Lovely wait staff--polite and cheerful. We had to take our dessert home with us. Just a fabulous value for Taste of Hartford! I love to recommend this gem in Hartford. It is definitely worth the drive.
Never disappoints! Great food, great service! They even had noted our favorite table!
Caesar salad was great but that was the highlight. Service was slow and inattentive, even when I wanted to pay the bill. Scallops were meh: seared on the outside but not quite done on the inside. Also - the menu on Open Table does not match the menu in the restaurant. There are better places in town.
Dish took our work party of 8 with just a few hours notice. We had a roomy spot that was reasonably quiet, we could chat and hear each other. Very enjoyable evening.
We went to Dish before a play at Hartford Stage. It was convenient to park at the theater and walk over to the theater. We made the reservation for two hours before the start of the play and had plenty of time for apps, meal and dessert. There were three of us and we all loved our meal. Can't wait to go back again!
