Hostess gave a horrible first impression when I informed her that we did have a reservation but only made it about 10 mins prior. She stated oh well, open table always double books so I’ll see what we have. As you look around and there over 6+ tables available. Then seats us and informs us we will have to be done by 830 (current time was 6:45). Slow service from beginning to end. Food was awesome but not worth it considering the service was so pathetic. Can find great food and great ambience at many other places (that also includes great services). Would not recommend this place...especially with what you pay to receive poor service!
The best part of the venue was the outdoor patio. The food was okay overall but some dishes were way better than others. I enjoyed the beet salad and the charcuterie board the best. The selection of spirits and variety of cocktails is good. I'd definitely come back for cocktails and snacks on the patio.
Went to Dirty Habit on Monday evening for happy hour with my boss and colleagues. It was great. The service was attentive and excellent. Drinks were delicious and the food was AMAZING. We also loved the ambiance and atmosphere. Everyone commented on how cool this place is and everyone loved the food. I got kudos for picking the spot out! We love it here and will definitely go back. Can’t wait to sit outdoors on a warm day!
Be it with friends, family with kids or a date this place is excellent!
This place was a abit if a dissapointment in every way. Service was on and off. Food was good. We had to change our wine order 3 times as everything seemed to be out to stock.
Fairly fancy and upscale restaurant, but I felt like I was being judged a little by the greater at the door because I wasn't dressed to the nines. I was dressed more so in comfortable traveling clothes.
The service was just terrible. We had a reservation but our party grew and they could not accommodate us. There was standing room only in the outside area and it was empty. They never told us to go there. They encouraged us to leave. It’s a cool spot but I’m very disappointed in the service. The host on Friday night should be talked to by management.
Good place but WAY loud
Nice place to be. Although it is a rooftop bar there is no view of the surrounding city. We were quick to get seated, and we got our water fast (I don't think the person was a waiter) BUT our server took 20 minutes to greet us/take our order and the place was not busy at the time. Food was tasty. We got the alcohol punch bowls and they were tasty as well.
Delicious food and drinks with beautiful decor. Not too loud. It was pricy, especially with the $50/person minimum for large groups, but definitely worth it for a special occasion.
I really enjoyed the meal. It was also surprisingly reasonable.
Food is decent but a bit overpriced for the portion sizes.
The spot is where the 5th Floor used to be, but you wouldn't recognize it. Food was good, especially the Shisito peppers, burger was good bit the pretzel bun was a little stale, and the desert was delicious. They stillbhave some the wines from the 5th Floor, so the selection is great, however they promote thenselves as a wiskey bar and that does not disappoint. Outdoor patio is great!
Dirty Habit is a great place for happy hour, a date, taking out-of-town guests, or even a break after a long day of shopping in Union Square. I have been here three times within two months. Everyone I have taken here is impressed with the well-crafted cocktails. On my last visit, our waiter Anthony made quite the impression. We were talking about last names and he surprised us by naming a literary character sharing my last name, instead of saying the usual animated character that most people are aware of because of Disney. When we couldn't decide what cocktails to order during the course of the night, we told him our likes/dislikes, and herecommendations based on those...were ah-mazing!
It was the worst service I have had at a SF restaurant and they were not even that busy, but the facilities were nice and the food and drink were good.
Would go again for sure! The outdoor patio was comfortable with outdoor heater. Great cocktail and spirits list! Comfortable seating. All around for any occasion!
Had a 9:30 Res and showed up at 9:45 on a Friday night. They kept telling us the kitchen was closing and consistently.made us feel they wanted us to leave. Pretty rude service, IMO
Love the ambiance and the great drink selection!!!!!
One of my favorite places to eat in all of SF. Great food, service, and alcohol selection. Outside seating is incredible too
The space is really cool and the outdoor space really special. There are a few quirks and for the prices there really should not be any. The staff is a bit unexperienced, but very nice. Vegetarians beware- there is plenty of appetizer options but nothing in the main course category to eat. Unusual for a SF restaurant. The food is good, but pricey.
Food here is always good (esp the burger). Was a bit disappointed that I requested an outdoor spot as part of my reservations, but request was not able to be met :\
Wait time for cocktails was a little longer than expected but food and ambiance great.
We had the beef tartare, tuna poke, and the whole fluke. All were good, but the tuna poke was fantastic. Cocktails were great as well. Highly recommend.
The service from waiter and hostess was almost non existent!! They need more waiters and nite smiles. For the money and 20%gratuity that we spent, we deserve to get our drinks less than 45 minutes!!
Service people were rude. inattentive to the point of frustration - brought the wrong wine and were argumentative. food was fine and the setting was enjoyable.
Great space, cocktails, bites.
It was mediocre experience
The service level was top notch. I had a few questions and needed some clarifications on the menu and our waiter was glad to be of help. I truly appreciate that because I dislike ordering without understanding what I am eating.
Terrible service, hotel atmosphere. Not going back.
Great drinks and setting. Food was a little disappointing.
Terrible service in a nearly empty restaurant. Waitress Ruth was condescending towards my husband and I. We were overcharged and ended up having to go to the hostess to pay the bill. Beef ribs were pathetic in size but very good. Cheese plate was also only worth a few bucks. Refills of soft drinks not free! Just not worth the money.
Thank you Mary (manager) for accommodating our group!
One of our favorite night spots in downtown. Super convenient and walking distance to SFMOMA and perfect for happy hour or a night out! Love the rooftop bar in the city and the dark cozy atmosphere inside. The cocktails here are amazing and the food is always great! This is a regular stop for us.
There is normally a line already forming to get in the door at 5pm. Open seating in the bar, but that can be very tricky. If you’re coming here for dinner you need to make a reservation!
The restaurant itself has cool design and ambiance. The only drawback in that regard was the the space is definitely tight and because it is on the fifth floor of the building of a hotel it has a different feel to it. Food was decent the only thing was the selection of food was limited. Overall good experience depending on your liking.
Don't bother -because the waitstaff won't bother with you... it's so not worth it.
I really liked Dirty Habit. The host was very accommodating when we realized we no longer wanted to sit outside due to the chilly weather. She quickly moved us inside to a bar booth that was roomier than before. However, we didn't get menus or service for ~15 minutes which was disappointing. But the food made up for it - pork belly, chicken wings, brussels sprouts were divine. Definitely will be coming back.
It was ok. The seating was uncomfortable and we honestly just wanted to leave. The food was ok. Nothing special.
Great, per usual!
