My niece and I are from out of town, she from Seattle and me from Sacramento. I was staying at Hotel Zelos and we decided to stay in and dine at Dirty Habit. I checked the menu online and was looking forward to the pork chop but it was no longer on the menu. So, I ordered the beet salad and the DH burger. Delicious! My niece doesn't eat meat and ordered the Sweet Potato Gnocchi. She loved it! She even posted pictures of it on Facebook. We asked about dessert and it seemed there was no non-dairy option so I asked about the flan and whether it was Mexican style with a caramel/cinnamon sauce. I was told yes, and ordered it. When it came it passion fruit, complete with seeds, all over it. The server was very understanding and took it back and removed it from my bill. Both of us would recommend "Dirty Habit" to others. Thanks for a great experience.
We had a reservation for a high top table...yet we got seated squished in between two large groups at a cramped low table. Which proved making the reservation was pointless. Server took 10 minutes before she came over to acknowledge us. She was not personable or professional. She dropped the drinks off without saying a word to us, and we had to ask for our 2nd drink as she did not check on us when our glasses were empty.
The atmosphere is really cool, details, dim lighting, barn door it cool. Service was poor and I guess we shouldn't have bothered to make a reservation because it wasn't upheld anyways. I felt I was being ripped off by having to tip for such an awful server. A tip should be earned, not expected.
Lot's of fun, it was honestly amaze-balls! I was a little drunk when I got there, but my food was really good.
Hands down spectacular experience on food and sercice
Nice place wasn’t happy that the menu was not what was listed the day of the trip. Ended up having to find another restaurant to eat at.
Dirty habit’s food was great 2 years ago, I don’t know if the kitchen had an off day, but it wasn’t the quality I remembered.
The ambiance is great, especially on a sunny day on the patio. Be mindful when you drink wines instead of cocktails, bottles start at $70 and quickly go up in price.
Intriguing cocktails and much better portion sizes for meals.
I organized a 40th birthday dinner for 8 people at Dirty Habit. It has a very cool vibe, love the decor and lighting. Would have been a great experience except that they have a rather small menu and ran out of 3 of the items we ordered (gnocci, sea bass, hazelnut ice cream). If I was the manager, I would have sent something out, like a bottle of bubbly, or taken the dessert off the bill, as a gesture of some kind to acknowledge the issue. A few too many disappointments for one evening. However, if you're thinking of going, try it. We might have had an off night.
We stumbled upon Dirty Habit during the JP Morgan Healthcare Conference and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was very good and our bartender Daniel was great. He made great drinks, offered up recommendations and was very conversational. We had a nice evening.
Jon price gouging, a barrel of fun.
While the ambiance is great, the patio is awesome- the food is lacking. We ordered probably at min 1 of everything on the menu (not many options) and our bill was over $700. The food was definitely lacking in flavor- I would NoT choose to return.
What a disappointing experience. Nothing on the menu resembled their website. I expected to be offered a menu similar to what was on the website and what they offered was similar to bar food menu.
The server, Dylan was very nice and helpful and could do only so much.
Absolutely one of the worst experiences in dining I’ve had in a long time. I WILL NEVER GO BACK.
In addition, the website says the parking is a flat fee of $15. It was hourly. Ridiculous!!

Great cocktails and a nice deck UNLESS the weather is cool, the heaters are poorly positioned so you basically can't sit outside unless it is a warm day (not frequent in SF). Service was mediocre at best and don't order the oysters. On the other hand the chicken wings were very good. Fine to drop in for a drink and snacks, would not have dinner there.
Ugh. This place was horrific. Service was non-existent. We came for dinner, we had to keep looking for our waitress asking for her to order, asking for the dessert menu, asking for the check. The portions were tapas size. We ordered the salmon and there were so many bones in it, could barely chew 1 bite. Horrific. Would never go back.
Parking clusterf*ck. Ridiculous.
service was very bad. we arrived 5:30pm the burger one of my friends ordered arrived 7pm. waiters should write the orders not wing it. Poor service.
Venue is cool and food was generally good once it finally arrived. However - clearly needs new management - the service was incredibly slow - food came out one dish at a time several minutes apart. One dish was very undercooked and staff initially handled terribly when it was pointed out. We were a patient group enjoying drinks but the delay annoyed everyone at the table and affected the group mood. The individual staff tried their best and apologized but they had no chance to succeed. The $50 per person min will annoy a lot of people. Don’t come when hungry or have some event after.
Beautiful outdoor dining. We sat at a table indoors but right next to the door that led outside. Next time we come, we'll ask to eat outside. The inside was lovely as well, nice place. We loved the french fries and the pappardelle was outstanding but did not like the fried zucchini with squash flowers, not because the kitchen didn't prepare it well, it was visually appealing but it didn't suit our tastebuds (a bit on the bland side). Our server was great and knew when to check on us. We'd like to return with our friends in tow.
Service was extremely slow, after arriving it took over 20 minutes to even order a drink and it wasn’t busy.
Salmon had too many bones and the pork chop had too much fats do the oysters were not fresh. AND there were workers painting and doing naintenence outside the restrooms. Go somewhere else.....
I booked an outdoor table through open table and it was confirmed. Once I got to the restaurant they told us all of their outdoor seats were booked weeks ago.
It would’ve been nice if the waitress at least said “Happy Birthday” since it was noted in the reservation. Kinda lame.
Good wine and beautiful outdoor seating but it took so long to get a drink. Wine menu is far too expensive also.
Great service and food! Drinks are creative!! Will be back!!
Every time I come to this place I like it more. The challah was a nice addition to the menu. What impresses me the most is the conscientious staff. Thank you.
This restaurant was pretty average, the food and cocktails were really meh. We had the chicken wings and the burger which were OK. For dessert we had a cuatro leches, it was dry and flavorless, it tasted as if it had been in the fridge for a very long time.
Our subtotal was $490 and they wanted me to pay $690..... taxes? Tip? I’ve never heard of tax and tip amounting to 40% of your full bill. And what did we eat? Terrible chicken wings. They hardly have food. The salmon was neck of salmon, no real meat. Their plates are tiny, even the burger. Bad quality meat. Bad everything. So weird. And tax fraud!!! I’m filing a complaint with the FTC.
We came here for a group bonding session for work. We shared two tasty punch bowls and some appetizers.
The food, service and ambience were really nice, but the wine list was severely limited, and the prices were higher than I see in other similar restaurants
The outside area was closed, which was the only reason I picked the place. The inside is dark and unwelcoming.
The food is good, but pretty overpriced, and the service is trash. Ambience is solid.
EVERYTHING is outrageously overpriced!
Great beer, great food, good service, great atmosphere. Really enjoyed the evening at Dirty Habit.
The food was fantastic as were the Spring44 cocktails!
Nice hip place with a great atmosphere in the outdoor rooftop area. Enjoyable evening.
Food was decent. Drinks were all overpriced, even for SF. I wouldn’t go back here or recommend it. Plenty of other places around SF where the food and drink quality are worth this type of price.
Those wings... memorable! Lovely al fresco dining in buzzy bustling ambiance.
I requested a nice view and that evening the patio was occupied for a private party. GRGRrrr!!!
I was disappointed that I made a reservation for outside seating but due to an event, they could only seat us indoors. So why did the reservation seating specify outdoors for this date? By the time I found out, it was too late for us to dine elsewhere - so it was disappointing. I would recommend Dirty Habit for their outdoor seating.
