seating was in a lounge area. service was intermittent at best. it took a long time to order and receive drinks and then we had to flag someone down in order to get food doing. 2 orders of oysters, very explicitly articulated became 1 order. then the appetizer and entree came at the same time. naturally, the remaining orders arrived after dinner was basically done. that being said, the ribeye was well-seasoned and perfectly medium rare. the cauliflower was tasty and interesting. the oysters may have been a little overdressed with the green onions and ponzu - the briny oyster goodness was overpowered. drinks were well balanced though i could hardly tell that the rattlesnake had any absinthe in it (where was the licorice bite?). probably not somewhere i’d go out of my way to visit again, especially considering the lack of parking and the really crappy service.
We came here to start a celebratory weekend for my daughter’s college graduation. We arrived about 5min late for our reservation (I tried to call and let them know but was unable to reach the host, and we did notify them when they texted that we were on our way - I also have never seen a restaurant that doesn’t allow a 10-15min grave period). Upon being escorted to our table, we were told that we were late and they would need the table by 8:30pm (we arrived at 7:20 for a 7:15 res). This did not start us off feeling very welcome.
We then proceeded to sit for about 15min before anyone came to get our drink order. Once she took that order we decided to place our food order at the same time. Within about 15-20min the food began to arrive - and we had not even received our drinks yet! The food is tapas-like so we ordered multiple plates. They kept arriving one on top of the other so we had no time to savor anything and the hot foods were getting cold. Zero pacing of the plates. In addition, the server only came around once or twice to ask if we needed anything - no time to order more drinks, though we finally got some wine before we had dessert.
While the food was tasty (particularly the mussels and venison - my daughter loved the short rib) and flavors were interesting, it could have been better for the prices, and the cocktails were very weak pours - could barely taste the gin or vodka in any of them. Not certain if my take on the food is also impacted by the poor service and lack of a good welcome by the hostess. The ambiance was nice as well, but for San Francisco cold, not nearly enough heaters on the patio.
Overall, would not say this was worth being called one of the top 10 romantic patio dining spots in SF. Even though we weren’t there for a romantic date, I would have been even more disappointed had we been there for that.
Excellent food; fun clientele at the restaurant. Live music was nice but a little loud.
The patio was buzzing and uplifting. The service was very attentive.
And a large selection of drinks indeed.
The ambiance at this place is perfect for date night especially if you go in the evening and sit outside. The service wasn’t the best although the Manager tried really hard to be super helpful. We sat there for over 20 minutes before anyone asked us for our order and that was only because we asked for help. The menu is tapas style and although the food was good, when we tried re-ordering some of the dishes, they didn’t have them anymore. They also ran out of liquor - Makers Mark and the first round of drinks we ordered it was incorrect.
Lovely outdoor patio, interesting cocktails & delicious food!
Had a great time!! Food, drinks and service were beyond excellent. Thank you so much to the DH team, it was a much needed evening.
It was amazing, the service, ambiance and venue were perfect. It was rooftop dining. But no wind because of the walls plus there were heaters, so it was very comfortable. It was a perfect place for a send off party, everyone was happy. I will definitely return to Dirty Habbits.
Great food awesome vibe!
Staff is very friendly and attentive
Excellent service, amazing food and delightfully surprised we were able to get seated by the firepit! It was perfect!
Food was delicious once it came. However we had our first course before we ever got our drinks or wine. And it took forever between courses. I took 2 1/2 hours to eat for courses. Food was tasty and delicious but I would be hesitant about going again because the service was extremely slow staff was nice and pleasant and accommodating but organization was lacking
Excellent drinks, good, but not amazing food, which is to be expected with predominantly a bar first. Chairs slightly awkward/uncomfortable for eating (they are more like reclined rocking chairs). Good service.
Great hidden gem for food and drinks! We made a last min reservation the night before. The vibe was amazing,
Loved the pornstar martini!! Sevice was a little slow but it was a Friday night understandable
It was great to get out and have a meal. The setting at Dirty Habit is really cool, the food outstanding and service amazing.
We absolutely loved dining here at the bar with Raul! The food was excellent as were the cocktails and suggestions by Raul. Would definitely eat here again when in town!
I love the ambiance and the rooftop bar is so pretty especially at night. Just please avoid the food here. Very overpriced and not good at all.
Great food, great drinks, great service, great ambiance = great time with great friends!
beautiful bar and outdoor space. Delicious cocktails and menu, cauliflower was a bit undercooked. Service was attentive.
General managers and wait staff were welcoming and helpful.
Great! Loved the cocktails and the food. Feels like a peaceful oasis away from the chaos of SoMa
Took my sister here recently for her birthday. Scenery was nice and the staff was wonderful. Menu could use more of a selection however the spicy chicken wings were exceptionally good.
Great food! Great time!
Cozy little rooftop in the heart of downtown. The indoor bar is super swanky. Food was amazing. We ordered the salted egg chips - super crispy with a distinctive flavor, venison yakitori - super flavorful and tender, chicken wings - super crispy and meaty. Cocktails were also on point.
Good food, awesome whiskey and bourbon choices, nicely maintained.
Restaurant was located in our hotel. The menu is not extensive, but the food was excellent. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive, and the restaurant has a sophisticated atmosphere.
Disappointed with beef tartare portion. It’s basically 4 teaspoons of beef tartare and marrow served on a bone for $19 and not even memorable. Outdoor patio is cool tho. Maybe skip the bites period
The waitress was nice, but inexperienced. She didn’t understand why we wondered why our appetizers came out at 3 different times. The food was okay, though the desserts were not good.
The ambiance is great for a date: low lighting & modern decor. The waitress was attentive & informative when we had questions regarding the menu. Would recommend & would go again.
Valentine night date , offered a nice ambiance with intimate setting. Really enjoyed the night
I made a reservation weeks in advance and when we arrived for our Valentines celebration dinner date the first thing the host says even before hello welcome is "we have another reservation at your table in 1 hour and 15 minutes, so you will need to be done by then" - What I am sorry I reserved this table and we are planing to have cocktails, starters, Entree and something after??? the table next to us was told the same thing - I can totally understand this statement if you arrive at a restaurant without a reservation but not when you have one. The Service was horrible - they brought everything out of order - entrees before the starters? had to fly the server down for drinks more than once - not a great experience.
Staff was very nice and food was excellent. Had the cauliflower, ribeye and burger and they were excellent. Tasty, but not overwhelming flavor. Portions are perfect. Burger is more of a petite portion, but comes with fries and with appetizers it’s perfect.
Dark the food was good the ambience was super average definitely not going back it wasn’t fun…
Go for the drinks- skip the bad food.
Viber and ambiance was wonderful. Caught happy hour where the drinks and food were a value and very yummy. Host and events manager were rude to me and guest on another party who kept leaving doors open that let out jarring lights upon my eyes consistently when we mentioned it. Could use some better customer service training. But our waitress was very nice.
Nice, quiet area of the restaurant. Good variety on the menu.
Great experience- sat in the courtyard by a fire pit, cocktails were great and the service was excellent.
Great service and beautiful ambiance. Craft cocktails are amazing!
Came here for our last dinner in San Fran. High prices for quality of food compared to what we’ve had. Wouldn’t recommend.
Great ambiance, good food, bad service. We were there as a 5-top. We did not see our server for the first 40 minutes. I ordered hot tea and he forgot it and it ended up taking almost 20 minutes to receive. Automatic 20% grat was added to 5-tops or bigger so I’m assuming his poor work ethic and apathy was due to his guaranteed good tip.
