Dirty French is a New York bistro created by Major Food Group’s Mario Carbone, Rich Torrisi and Jeff Zalaznick. The restaurant takes its culinary cues from the timeless dishes and preparations of classic French bistros and enlivens them utilizing modern techniques and bold flavors. Dishes like Duck à l’Orange with ras el hanout and preserved oranges remain true to their French roots but are restyled with flavors that explore the breadth and depth of the global French culinary influence. Dirty French is located in the Ludlow Hotel in Manhattan’s storied Lower East Side.

Food:
Duck hash was non existent. It was a fried egg with an over abundance potatoes with a few scrapes of what was presented as duck hash. We had to search the dish to locate the “duck”. But no luck.
Burgers were merely diner average and at an irrational price.
Glass of house bubbly was $17.00 plus tax.
Salads and oysters were good.
Service was good.
Ambiance was noisy with a poor trio attempting to play music. However, it was good Sunday brunch atmosphere.

If you order the hamburger unless you like it raw and I mean raw. Let them know. The waiter told me that’s how they are cooked. I said I’m sorry but I cannot eat this please put back on grill. Well I’m not sure but I think it was just microwaved. And was still not done. The steak was tough and fries were ok

Very lackluster and angering experience. The service was non-existent, the room was not even 1/2 full - and the food, was BAD. Steak was barely edible and my friend had to return her pork chop as it tasted like they poured a bottle of liquid smoke on top. When she asked to send it back, instead of an apology, the waiter gave an audible harrumph and eyeroll. The waiter rarely came by to see what we needed, had to ask twice for our wine, water glasses remained empty for 1/2 hour and were basically ignored the whole time. It's quite audacious for a restaurant with such original hype to be riding on past laurels. Would not recommend to anyone unless they just wanted to have a drink in the cozy lounge.

Food, service and experience were excellent again. A little loud and definitely worth it !
Service was impeccable but relaxed (-not ordinary). Easy recommend.

Dined two nights in a row. Once at a table once at the bar. Staff are super nice! Waitress was a delight and a pro. Kitchen is on point food wise but found themselves in the weeds on Saturday tho. Food at the bar took a while to come out but bartender comped us 2 glasses of wine on the house, our choice. French brasserie fare with a Moroccan flair(ras-al-hanout duck). Restaurant was packed and very loud. Everyone having a great time at this happening spot. No complaints really. Door does a good job seating walk-ins too. Somm decanted our wine at his suggestion, I appreciated that very much.

Trendy and somewhat pricey. Pork was amazing, same with grilled oysters. Black bass was good but not overly impressive. Waiter totally unsold a glass of wine and gave us. $25 glass w/o mentioning price, a little lame. Nice setting and vibe. Service was amazing until dessert. Waited a LONG time for the check which was super annoying.

Service was amazing - some of the best I experienced while visiting NY. Complimentary and extremely tasty pastries that come along with your brunch order. These tipped me over the edge as the portion sixze of main course was huge. But it was so incredibly tasty I managed it. Beautiful restaurant decor, lovely staff and a great vibe. A must do for Brunch in NY... with a drink in the cosy lobby bar after. Just wish I had stayed here while in NY

I have dined here on several occasions and have never been disappointed. That is until Sunday we were seated at our table on time. A bus person filled our water glasses and then well the wait for a server began. No one asked if we wanted a cocktail we did. When the waiter did arrive he apologized and brought us complimentary pastries. Nice touch. Our Aperol Spritz was bland not Spritzy the glass was sticky and the rim still wet from spillage. My friend and I both orders eggs scrambled. When the order came the eggs were dry and cold and looked like they had come from the bottom of a pre-prepared chafing dish. The bacon was soggy and the toast burnt. At this point we were so hungry we just ate it. Definitely too expensive for worse than mediocre meal. There was a musical performer which I wouldn’t have minded had they not continue to engage a very drunk woman between sets who was screaming and slurring and spilling her drink. I know you can control how your customers behave but as some point cut off a person who is drunk loud and belligerent.

for years, I used to love their Lamp carpaccio so much that I can order 2-3 just as my dinner along with their delicious bread. However, this time, the sauce on the carpaccio has been changed. It became more sweet, almost none cumin oil and very little salt...but lots of chilly pepper. it's just not at all good. why do they even change a great receipt to something not making any sense? lamp is the best with cumin, not sugary sauce. come on. the same goes their grilled oyster. it's great to have lots of garlic and parsley. but a little cumin seeds or oil will enhance the flavor.

It's our go to place to take guests for a great meal. Love the option of dessert and drinks by the fireplace. My only comment is the booth at the far corner is VERY hot. They need to figure out a way to improve the circulation, open the door, or turn down the heat.

The food was impeccably prepared and sooooo delicious! However it was just so expensive that it took away from the enjoyment. $40 for an entree and then another $14 to have a vegetable with it. That’s after $22 appetizers... And it took over an hour and a half to get entrees and the place was almost empty. Delicious, but I would not use the words “fun” and “event” which seem to be in every professional review.

A friend recommended this spot but we felt cramped to start the night off at our table but no options to switch. Our waiter had to come back 3 times for food related items - once because he forgot one of the two apps we ordered, once to tell us they were out of Lamb so my husband picked a new option and the 3rd to confirm my entree. Our first app came out after 20+ minutes and then the second was at least that long because he had to come back and ask us if we still wanted it. My scallops came out cold and he forgot our frites for the table. I had to flag down the server a few times. Our bill was almost $500 that included two bottles of wine and the server removing the scallops/frieds but it was over priced for what it was. The drinks from the bar were good and we liked the flat bread and grilled oysters. Would not go back...

This is my favorite bday celebration spot -- ideal for brunch with amazing drinks, food, and music. The Bloody Mary pitcher and garnishes can't be beat -- and the baked goods and oysters are beyond. Cant rave enough about this place!

おしゃれなラドローホテルのメインレストランは裏切らない素敵なフレンチビストロ空間。堅苦しくなくカジュアルで居心地よしです。お料理は意外とオーセンティックなフレンチでシンプルな盛り付け、きのこのミルフィーユとツナタルタル は程よくアジアンフュージョンでとても美味!スタッフもフレンドリーで、お誕生日のシャンパンがグラスでサービスされました。

Well executed and interesting food. The drinks were also delicious . Loved the ambience - it was sexy, chic but open and comfortable. Our servers were all excellent and answered our questions thoughtfully and made some great recommendations. Definitely try the millefeuille - absolutely delicious.

The good was very good and service while nice and friendly slow....
The musicians they had at Sunday brunch were a real problem, too loud for the size of the place and Sunnis a day for catching up and being with friends and family not shouting!

Very happening and fun scene. Food was very good though quite rich and I don’t like it when duck is the only thing on the plate when u order duck unless u also order an accompaniment. Speed of service was good but waiter felt a bit disingenuous. Has a hip New York vibe and a great bar beside. Would go again. Pork sausage was delicious. Manhattan cocktail also a 10.
