Cutting edge vegetables with added flavor and no politics in this sleek and stylish restaurant showcasing colorful, pop-tastic dishes from award-winning chef, Amanda Cohen. A full bar, counter seating, a wine list curated by sommelier Lauren Friel, and vegetables in all their earth-shattering, gob-smacking glory. Dirt Candy offers an a la carte menu at the bar and at brunch. Diners coming for dinner will have a choice of The Vegetable Patch ($57, tip included) featuring five courses of Dirt Candy’s greatest hits, or they can take a trip to The Vegetable Garden ($83, tip included) which is at least nine courses and changes according to the season, what we’re experimenting with, and what our foragers and farmers bring to our door.

What a joke. Please update the menu. You start strong with the tower presentation then fall off a cliff. The broccoli was extremely salty. Carrot slider was on point...well done. The rest outside of the mushroom dessert was really average. Up your presentation game and get crafty with raw.

As someone who thinks about the ingredients and foods I put in my body, this dining experience was nirvana for me!! Chef Amanda is a force of flavor and kindness juxtaposed with quality and FUN.

Wonderful way to spend Valentines Day! Loved the 9-course meal option, and the timing between courses was perfect and allowed for a lengthy dining experience. (And the snap pea cocktail is worth a try - very unique!).

Really fabulous tasting experience of creative vegan offerings. I would go for the 5 course over the 9 course menu. We had the 9 course and it was altogether too much. Too many flavors, too much food. It was actually a turn off.
The 5 course if perfect.
The service is wonderful and the atmosphere is spacious, comfortable and offers a sense of privacy in that you have personal space.
I love the neighborhood!
This is adventurous flavorful eating. It is vegan/vegetarian, but I hesitate to call it health food! far more decadent! Be prepared!

Valentine's Day prix fixe dinners are generally a sketchy proposition - too little food for too much money and quick-tongued service trying to accomplish high turnover. Rock Candy was none of these things. Each of the 10+ dishes was tasty and surprising, the wine pairings were generously applied, the staff was attentive and fun but not pushy. Two carnivores left very full and satisfied.

As always Amanda delivers on a promise... The tasting menu for Valentine’s Day was amazing, creative, and fun. There’s not a day that isn’t a good day for Dirt Candy.

This was a pre-birthday treat from a friend--she was convinced we would not get reservations... but I am an infuriating optimist; and yes, we got reservations for that afternoon. Brunch was excellent--excellent choices (did not make it easy to choose), unusual pairings and flavors, very reasonably priced, and there was just a LOT of food! Really, Dirt Candy is a treat!

This place really knows vegetables. I loved every dish and it was such a pleasure not to have to think about what to order. Tasting menus are fun.

Amazing! Creativity and taste of the food, quality of the service and presentation, all was awesome. My new favorite vegetarian dinner spot by a long shot. Crazy good.

4.5 Stars- This was such a delightful and unique experience. I felt like the food really didn't take itself too seriously. Some of the highlights were the carrot sliders (served in adorable takeout type containers), the beets were by far the best I have ever had. Every course was an innovative and had great ingenuity. Only reason it didn't get 5 stars was that not every single dish was a success, but I so appreciate all of the thought and effort that went into each and every thing that crossed our plates.

We had the 8-9 course offering, and it was an amazing experience. Full of fun and amusing moments, not something I can say about most meals I go out to eat. My only major critique is that 2 dessert courses was simply too much, in my opinion.

A friend of mine recommend this restaurant even if I am not a vegeterian. She was so right!
Delicious the entire dinner.
I am a gluten free so the dishes were sometimes a little bit different from my husband’s but overall well balanced. Loved my dinner at Dirt Candy!

Some of the most creative and delicious vegetarian food we've ever had! May seem a little expensive but absolutely worth it! The $57 vegetable patch option was an adventure from start to finish and so much more food than we were expecting. Extremely memorable dinning experience!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the entire city. The vegetable-based dishes are unique, delicious, and eye-opening. I have taken many of my meat-eating friends and they have all loved it just as much as me.

This was our first visit to the Allen Street space - and our first brunch experience at Dirt Candy - and we found it lovely and inviting. The food was creatively prepared with fresh ingredients, as were the drinks. The wait staff were appropriately attentive and helped one in our party to select gluten free, vegan options. We were not rushed - even though it was busy - and found it a good value. Thoutoughly enjoyed it!

The most innovative vegetarian food I've ever had! Dining here was a delightful experience - we took the 8-course menu and were treated to one surprise after another. Interesting pairings of food (some less successful than others; the chocolate-onion tart didn't quite work for me) and fun presentations. (The tiny carrot slider came in a mini box; the salad course was presented in 3-tiered tray, etc.) The meal took 3 hours and we enjoyed every minute. (Ambiance lost a star because we were seated next to the window and it was cold.)

Dirt Candy was an experience. I liked some of the food, but not all of the food. I was dining with a friend and we were surprised that we were not served separately. We did the 5-course tasting menu. They kept bringing one dish for us to split, which was awkward, we were not on a date. The variety of flavors was interesting, but I wouldn't say most of them were that good, just different. Some things like the broccoli dog seemed like a real stretch, I didn't like that menu items were called things like "carrot hamburger" and "broccoli dog" and "lettuce tacos," it seemed artificial and forced. I think the chef here is doing interesting things, but maybe hanging on to traditional ideas of how to describe/present food too closely. Nice to try once, but I don't think I would go back due to the cost, even though I really like vegetarian food in general.
