Diplomat Prime – Hollywood Ratings and Reviews
The room is cozy and beautiful. The waiter and busboy were both very nice. The wine list was good. The salad was good. The lobster appetizer and crabmeat appetizers were incredibly tiny and ridiculously expensive. Very very disappointing. The steak was outstanding as was the salmon, mushrooms and hot bread. It is very expensive but worth it for special occasion.
Food was excellent but service was subpar. Waiter wasn’t attentive and felt as if he was rushing us out by telling us if we didn’t order our main when we ordered our appetizer it will take 45 minutes or longer. We didn’t order our main and when we did you can bet it didn’t take 45 minutes. Waiter just trying to turnover the table. Once we received our mains our waiter was MIA and took ages to get our bill. The included gratuity for all party sizes is also a turnoff. When you order a $200 bottle of wine and an 18% tip is automatically added it’s unfair especially since the service was not great.
I hesitate to say this was a bad experience as it wasn’t. It’s just severely overpriced and drinks come slow, maybe the waiter needed help? He was for sure a nice guy. All in all at these prices you should have triple a plus Experience. Not to mention the portions were very small.
On a fantastic note I will say the hostess(Allison) might be the saving grace to this establishment. She was so nice to myself and my dad and I only wished I could have hung out with her all night. A word to prime.....DONT LOSE ALLISON!!!
We have eaten here two nights in row! We loved it so much we wanted our friend to be able to experience it as well. Steak is top notch we had aged prime rib the first night it was perfect and everything you would want in a good steak. The second night we all had the Waygu it was decadent and melted in your mouth really good! The manager Michael was attentive and really represented the restaurant very well!
Although prices are a little steep, noshing at Prime is totally worth it.
Have been here many times over many years and still my go to place for steak. The sides esp. the melange of mushrooms are equally delicious. The service, wine and intimite space complete the dining experience.
Fantastic waygu beef. It was probably the best steak I have ever had. It was prepared perfectly. It was truly tender served at the proper temperature. The wedge salad was great and the steak fries fried in duck fat were ultra. David was an impeccable server and Daisy was a trip. Worth the price and the drive from Tampa.
The bread is good. Most wines are over 3x retail. The menu is very limited. The crab meat cocktail $21 is poor. They don’t even have a baked potato. Mashed potatoes were fair. Shell steak was good. A brandy Alexander was $21. The restaurant is grossly overpriced. They add the tip on; so look at your bill. The hostess was very pleasant.
Food, service, and ambiance were all 10/10. Top steakhouse in the area, no question. We went on a Monday night and it was quiet and just short of busy. The octopus starter was memorable and the steaks were spectacular. Service was attentive without getting in the way of an intimate dinner. Rarely do we talk about a meal the next day, or the day after that. But we did after this meal. I had leftovers and made a steak sandwich the next day that was world-class. We'll be back.
Amazing! On par with the great steak houses. Service was outstanding. We started with some pre-dinner cocktails, the beet appetizer, NY STRIP medium rare for me and my wife the Wagyu filet, sides of Raosted Cauliflower (incredible!!) and creamed spinach. Wow!!
This is our second time eating here & once again it did not disappoint!
This restaurant is as good as if not better than any steakhouse in South Florida.
Menu items were unique, very fresh, & absolutely delicious. The Wagyu steaks cost a fraction of what they charge on South Beach & melt in your mouth.
The GM is hands on & it shows. Give it a try....you will be glad you did.
