Dio Deka Ratings and Reviews
Went to Dio Deka for my birthday. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great, giving a good feel for privacy. Our server was outstanding as was the general service quality.
For starters we had the assorted spreads and saganaki. both were very good but given what I read and heard about Dio Deka I was missing the "wow" and hence only 4 out of I've stars. As entrees we had the spring chicken and the lamb osso buco. Again, the spring chicken was very goo but not outstanding (met expectations but not more). The lamb was very good and would deserve 5 stars.
Outstanding wine list with very good recommendations from our server. Overall definitely worth going.
Arrived exactly at the time of our reservation on Valentine’s Day and amazingly we were greeted and seated within seconds. The service was excellent with a friendly waiter, attentive to our needs. The cadence for the dishes was appropriate and the quality was very good with special attention to the presentation of the food on the plate. Food portions could have been a little bit larger, but at least we didn’t feel bloated when we finished our last bite of the 4 course dinner. There was some live music when we arrived but they left way before we finished our dinner. Would have been nice to enjoy that music for the duration of our meal. But overall very satisfied.
The lamb while cooked inside correctly, the outside had a chard/burnt flavor that I don't like. The ribeye was ordered medium and it was very med-rare and all red. They cut it for us as we like it, but I would not have sent it back after they cut it. Tasted great but a little too rare for us.
Brussel spouts great, but a little char flavored, too.
Hard to tell if it was intentional char or burnt. A la Carte a little pricey.
Best dinner we have had in South Bay! We have been in many top recommended restaurants throughout the world and in the San Jose area. This was the best dinner we have had in our area. Last night we had a meal that was 10/10 all the way with service to match. First time at Dio Deka, but not the last. You have to try the SAGANÀKI!
The atmosphere and service is lovely. The food was very good, but in the end i do think it is over-priced. The dishes all have a spin on traditional food, for example the saganaki is crusted and more room temperature, but delicious--it is served with farro which was the best thing i had that night--they had really infused it with flavor. The lamb meatballs were not special, nor was the tomato sauce. So, a very enjoyable evening, but when we got the bill i just couldn't help but think the value was not there.
So perfect! Quality of everything should be attention to detail at this wonderful Los Gatos Mediterranean fine doing establishment. I don’t know how we missed it. This will become our go to place for special meals and fine dining in the Southbay. I wish I could tell you it was a secret restaurant but the place was packed.
I can see how Dio Deka went from 1 Michelin star to 0. There are hints of its former quality in the food served.
We had the tzatiki appetizer, then medium rare lamb chops with sauteed seasonal greens and broccoli.
As always, the warm rosemary and salt pita bread was delicious.
The lamb was flawlessly cooked, but the seasoning, tasty as it was, was so strongly flavored it overwhelmed the taste of the meat.
The greens were lemony and good at first bite, but did not have a good aftertaste. The broccoli was bitter and inedible.
The meat came with roasted potatoes and onions. The potatoes tasted of olive oil and nothing else, another example of overloading a flavor. The onions were gelatinous on the inside and overcooked on the outside, badly enough I spat out the outside part.
Now I remember why I haven't gone back to Dio Deka after my last visit a year or so ago -- nothing really has changed.
Was very happy with my experience. Two of our group weren’t able to make our original reservation time so I called ahead to try and change. This was a Saturday night so they couldn’t change outright but they let us arrive a bit late, and didn’t rush us out at all at the end of dinner. Our server was super nice and suggested a custom preparation on a dish for one of our party that didn’t like one of the ingredients. All in all a very nice night (albeit an expensive one)
A lovely evening celebrating our guest's birthday. Our service was excellent, attentive and well informed. The lamb meatball appetizer was delicious, as was the branzino.
The upscale decor was in keeping with its Mediterranean cuisine, low lighting and a warm and cozy atmosphere.
Starting with the hostess, Dio Deka’s service is excellent. They try to accommodate every request for a special table and any other requests you have. The waiters have been there for a very long time and know the menu and wine list very well. Ambiance is amazing. Food is always perfectly prepared. Love this place.
The food here is excellent. It would s what makes us return. We have been here several times for the food. The two issues that are difficult for us is that it is extremely noises and the service is always rushed. It feels as if they are trained to move customers through as quickly as possible to get them out again. Before we get our bottle of wine they are usually asking what we would like for an entree and we haven’t even settled in. I think they probably have so much business that they don’t need to consider these issues but we thought we would share our comments in case it is helpful in some way.
We walked in and were greeted by a friendly face. When we were seated everyone was very professional and the ambiance was very nice. Our waiter Steve was very informative and gave us the run down of the whole menu and recommended the perfect things. In between courses they brought us little munchies that were perfect for the season and something to eat inbetween. The food was a big highlight it was fresh vibrant and best of all amazing in flavor. There was nothing wrong with anything. But what made the experience memorable was our waiter Steve. He was very informative which helped us out a lot.
Christmas Eve dinner with family was spectacular. Our server was top-notch. He recommended three appetizers to start. Several of us ordered the filet mignon. Delicious and cooked perfectly. Also ordered were the Lamb, Ribeye and Chicken entrees. We shared some sides. Fabulous meal from beginning to end. It's pricey, but a nice splurge once in a while.
