Great restaurant, best lamb chops in California and the bone in filet is awesome too
I've dined at Dio Deka many, many times through the years (and different chefs). Previous to this time, the last 2x were not so good (at least for the money). However, this time, the food was excellent! Lamb Chops (3) and New York Steak were cooked perfectly. Charred on the outside, pink on the inside. And service was outstanding so was bottle of Linne Calado Poseur!
Ate here years ago but very disappointed this time. We went with friends who had never been here and wanted to go. We were all disappointed! Food was so-so. Three of has the the short rib moussaka and were very unhappy with it. The short rib was fine but no where could we find any moussaka. And, the noise level is unreal. We couldn't hear the person sitting across the table. Service was OK but nothing to write home about. Given the rices they charge we expected much better than we got. Will not be back and will not reccomend.
extraordinary service, quality and consistency. one of the best in Northern California.
The place was quite, GREAT food, pampering service.
The food and service were wonderful as usual. One of our favorite places to eat. Unfortunately we were sat at a table near the food line, so there was a lot of traffic from the servers. The restaurant tends to get pretty loud from the noise at the bar. We requested a table away from the bar, but got the food line instead. Next time I will request a table away from the bar and the food line, near the windows.
Grilled fish was fantastic, lamb osso bucco was ok but small portion. The variety of dips with pita was tasty. Service was outstanding
Great meal wonderful service
Expensive but delicious! Also very noisy, hard to hear conversations at our table near the kitchen. We had the lamb and steak.
We had terrific service.
But, we have stayed away from Dio Decka because their drinks are expensive and no alcohol. Seems they water down their drinks. I had to order a double vodka at $28.00 to get a decent drink.
We love Evvia and wanted to give Dio Deka another chance. But, we have told all our friends to go to Evvia. Evvia is the same price point as Dio Deka, but Evvia is a better value.
Too bad, because we socialize with a lot of people who dine out frequently.
Dio Deka’s food is not as good as Evvia’s. And Dio Deka’s menu is limited compared to Evvia’s.
Loved our waiter, Darren! He was funny and a great guy to make small talk with. Overall, a wonderful experience!
Great food. Lamp chops were amazing meduim rare.
Dio Deka always has great food and service. That being said, it's time for a little makeover. Decor and furniture is dated and a bit run down. Still, I will continue to recommend Dio Deka for that special occasion.
This restaurant is very much worthy of the 1 star Michelin rating. Service was outstanding the server was very knowledgeable. Food was like eating art beautiful presentation .and very tasty.
Will definitely be back for more.
Awesome Service, Delicious food. Will definitely go there again for a special diner :)
A thoroughly delightful evening. Appetizers, entrees, desserts were all exceptional. Our service was superb.
Went to Dio Deka for my birthday. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great, giving a good feel for privacy. Our server was outstanding as was the general service quality.
For starters we had the assorted spreads and saganaki. both were very good but given what I read and heard about Dio Deka I was missing the "wow" and hence only 4 out of I've stars. As entrees we had the spring chicken and the lamb osso buco. Again, the spring chicken was very goo but not outstanding (met expectations but not more). The lamb was very good and would deserve 5 stars.
Outstanding wine list with very good recommendations from our server. Overall definitely worth going.
Arrived exactly at the time of our reservation on Valentine’s Day and amazingly we were greeted and seated within seconds. The service was excellent with a friendly waiter, attentive to our needs. The cadence for the dishes was appropriate and the quality was very good with special attention to the presentation of the food on the plate. Food portions could have been a little bit larger, but at least we didn’t feel bloated when we finished our last bite of the 4 course dinner. There was some live music when we arrived but they left way before we finished our dinner. Would have been nice to enjoy that music for the duration of our meal. But overall very satisfied.
Amazing as always!
Were there for Valentines Day and they had a Fixed Price four course meal that was excellent. Varied choices. Both of the main dishes we had (the rack of lamb and the halibut) were very large portions and of exceptional quality.
The lamb while cooked inside correctly, the outside had a chard/burnt flavor that I don't like. The ribeye was ordered medium and it was very med-rare and all red. They cut it for us as we like it, but I would not have sent it back after they cut it. Tasted great but a little too rare for us.
Brussel spouts great, but a little char flavored, too.
Hard to tell if it was intentional char or burnt. A la Carte a little pricey.
Great table great food great service great experience
Service impeccable. Food excellent, although narrow choices and a bit "old school".
Over the top. As usual! Fantastic food, extremely attentive service with wonderful ambience. We love this place
We’ve been dining here for years! They recently lost their chef and this was reflected in the quality of the food. Hope they will find a solid replacement soon.
Fabulous, as always.
The only thing that could have been better was to have the milk that came with my coffee steamed.
Good food; great ambiance. Clean setting inside and out and high functioning staff. Waiter very nice.
I love Dio Deka!! Such wonderful service and food, the ambiance is gorgeous and I love the smell when I enter! One of my fav restaurants.
Loooove this place!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Wonderful evening. Perfectly made cocktails at the bar and excellent food and service. The Greek Yogurt desert was amazing.
As always, great food, amazing service. You cant go wrong when you chose to eat here. Its our favorite restaurant. Highly recommended!
Expensive but worth it
Branzino was great as always. My wife's steak was just "OK" @ $89.00. Waiter was cordial but not attentive. Sat with dirty plates after salad for 20 minutes. Not cool.
Expect more from a Michelin One Star honestly.
Best dinner we have had in South Bay! We have been in many top recommended restaurants throughout the world and in the San Jose area. This was the best dinner we have had in our area. Last night we had a meal that was 10/10 all the way with service to match. First time at Dio Deka, but not the last. You have to try the SAGANÀKI!
Fantastic service! Yogurt dessert was great!
Stayed at Hotel Los Gatos and decided to dine at the restaurant. Outstanding! Everything we ordered was delicious, and the excellent service made it perfect.
The atmosphere and service is lovely. The food was very good, but in the end i do think it is over-priced. The dishes all have a spin on traditional food, for example the saganaki is crusted and more room temperature, but delicious--it is served with farro which was the best thing i had that night--they had really infused it with flavor. The lamb meatballs were not special, nor was the tomato sauce. So, a very enjoyable evening, but when we got the bill i just couldn't help but think the value was not there.
So perfect! Quality of everything should be attention to detail at this wonderful Los Gatos Mediterranean fine doing establishment. I don’t know how we missed it. This will become our go to place for special meals and fine dining in the Southbay. I wish I could tell you it was a secret restaurant but the place was packed.
I can see how Dio Deka went from 1 Michelin star to 0. There are hints of its former quality in the food served.
We had the tzatiki appetizer, then medium rare lamb chops with sauteed seasonal greens and broccoli.
As always, the warm rosemary and salt pita bread was delicious.
The lamb was flawlessly cooked, but the seasoning, tasty as it was, was so strongly flavored it overwhelmed the taste of the meat.
The greens were lemony and good at first bite, but did not have a good aftertaste. The broccoli was bitter and inedible.
The meat came with roasted potatoes and onions. The potatoes tasted of olive oil and nothing else, another example of overloading a flavor. The onions were gelatinous on the inside and overcooked on the outside, badly enough I spat out the outside part.
Now I remember why I haven't gone back to Dio Deka after my last visit a year or so ago -- nothing really has changed.
