“memorable modern Greek cuisine" that “would make them jealous in Athens”, particularly when paired with an “extensive wine list” worthy of Dionysus; the five owners provide “over-the-top” service in the spirit of filoxenia (the art of hospitality) for what’s sure to be a "big fat Greek night" out. - Zagat

Dio Deka Ratings and Reviews
Overpriced for what we got. My med.lamb chops had almost no pink, another in our party ordered them med. rare, they were very rare. Three reasonably large chops, on a bed of somewhat oily, sautéed spinach with a few token potato slices were $46. Very good octopus appetizer was the least fish tasting seafood I think I have had. Pita bread with 4 different spread appetizer is good but, again my socks were not knocked off for the price. A glass of Tinto Pesquera tempranillo for $18. ($33./ bottle retail) is excessive. When I pay top dollar I expect outstanding everything. Although very good, again, not worth the price. Either drop the prices or increase the quality. Dining on the patio was quite pleasant.
Went there for 25th Anniversary. We had a 7:00pm reservation and were greeted as we walked in by three people. Escorted to our table immediatly and to our surprise the menus had "Happy Anniversary" printed on the top. I brought a special bottle of champagne which was not on their wine list and the corkage was waived. I highly recommend this resturant and will be back again.
The hostess was pleasant, and we were seated immediately (early on a Monday night). We had the fried cheese appetizer - good but not exceptional. We ordered the lamb shank (eh) and the lamb chop (too charred) Loukoumades (not crispy on the outside but still enjoyable) and the apple tart (not very sweet) for dessert.
I prefer the lamb shank at Faz, the lamb chop at Evvia and the loukoumades at Thea.
Regarding the crowd, we were seated next to a couple so pretentious and rude the server actually aplogized to us. The restaurant wasn't crowded, so I'm not sure why they were seated so close.
Appetizer, 2 drinks, 2 entrees and 2 desserts came to $150 + tip + car valet. Neutral but probably won't go back.
Sat. 08/07/2010 - Both hostesses who were greeting and seating patrons were dressed in inappropriately low cut dresses displaying ample cleavage. Los Gatos isn't LA, people! Service was a little less inattentive than usual. Although the room was quite full, I'm not sure the restaurant has enough servers assigned at peak periods. Food quality and presentation quite high as usual. The wine list needs more offerings under $50.
Dio Deka has been our favorite restaurant for awhile and continues to exceed our expectations. The food is the best and the service is over the top. We are now greeted and welcomed back each time we arrive. We feel right at home there. We love taking all of our friends and family. They all thank us for the experience and Dio Deka becomes their favorite restaurant too.
Awesome!!!! Would go back any time. We went there for my husbands bday and had a blast. Great wine list if thre ever was one. Wonderful food. We started at the bar for some drinks and than went on sitting outside - sun going down. We had the best waiter too, super attentive, very fun.
Too bad we don't have any more bdays coming up soon...
We went to Dio Deka for my daughter's 17th birthday and our 25th anniversary. The staff had special menus printed acknowledging our special events! Beautiful restaurant with convenient complementary valet service. Very nice staff and all the courses were excellent. We had the grilled octopus and scallops appetizers. For entres, the grilled lamb chops (their specialty), grilled veal chop and the grilled ling cod special. For dessert we had the Greek yogurt with honey and fresh fruit, heavenly, and the Greek beignets. We will definitely return and not wait for a special occasion!
As a Greek woman - i am very particular about the quality of Greek food. The food at Dio Deka was some of the best I have ever had, here or in Greece. It was a wonderful evening with our adult daughter - who had chosen the restaurant and well worth the drive from the Peninsula. Ambience was rated down as we sat on the front patio and with the main street traffic and tables spread from another any specialness was lost. BUT it did not detract from the experience. We plan on returning soon with several other couples!
I celebrated my birthday at Dio Deka, they made a special menu for me and the food and presentation of the meal was exquisite! Even when I said "no dessert" because we had cake at home they brought me a beautiful plate of chocolate dipped strawberries with "happy birthday" written in chocolate! I love this restaurant.
Nice place and great service but the food is overpriced: $42 for grilled lamb chops with potatoes on the side. I also found the grilled octopus as appetizer (recommended by our waiter) not worth the money. I guess the Greek cuisine with its rather plain (but nevertheless tasty) dishes isn't really suited for gourmet cooking.
Excellent dining experience! I had previously read somewhere that they personalize the menu for special occassions, which they successfully did for me also. The food (appetizers, entrees, AND dessert) was delicious, and the wine selection was great too. Our service could have been improved a little bit by having the server bring our entrees out sooner. The entrees were ready to be brought to us (I had a good view of the counter), but our server was very preoccupied chatting with a customer he knew at the restaurant. Aside from the minor detail, everything else about the restaurant was excellent!
The fish (branzino) was outstanding. They had no bread when we sat down, and since we didn't order appetizers, that was a drag. We had to call the waiter & ask about it, as he didn't notice, and still had to wait because it was being baked. With flat bread, hot out of the oven is not essential, so don't see the point of waiting.
It was very disappointing. The food was all right. However the first wine we ordered a Sancerre was corked and the last bottle they had. The second one was all right but not chilled. The starter didn't come together, For a restaurant of that category it is not acceptable
We have been to DD many times and have always loved and enjoyed the service and ambience.
This time we believe that we were being served by one of the owners. PLEASE NEVER LET THE OWNER SERVICE A TABLE AGAIN.
He was unattentive and added two dishes from another table onto our bill. Thought we wouldn't notice?
It won't stop us from coming back because we love the food and we do love everything else about the restaurant.
I had high expectations for Dio Deka. The pita was extremely good but nothing else was. A lot was good, but non of it great. Unfortunately for Dio Deka their competition in the Bay Area means I will not be back. For that price, in this region, your food better be GREAT, not just good.
we told them - via open table - that is was our anniversary...so when we sat down, the menu had been printed especially for us and read a the top "Happy Anniversary". nice touch. the waiter was also aware and greeted us with "happy anniversary". the service was exceptional, we felt the waiter was totally there to serve us but without being obtrusive. great food, good wine selection, tasty dessert and cappuccino.
We had an excellent meal of various appetizer dishes and a salad with a glass of Malbec and the most extraordinary dessert of Greek yogurt. All were very well presented and delicious with a nice variety of flavors and textures. The service is impeccable. I haven't been to a restaurant of such professional, elegant, subtle service in a very long time and I do eat out quite a bit. Everyone from the hostess to the person clearing the table was friendly and thoughtful. We celebrated a birthday and I think it's the perfect restaurant for a special occasion.
