It was nice to sit outside and the heaters provided warmth. The service was very good. The food was not as expected, flavorless in some cases, overcooked in another case. The food is overpriced for the quality.
We were celebrating my daughters Birthday and Easter. We had a great time , the food was amazing. Everyone ordered something different so we were able to try so many different thing. Our waiter and staff were very attentive. It was good to be out and enjoy a great meal.
Table preference request granted. Excellent service great entree could have been hotter
I heard great things about Dio Deka, but was so disappointed. The menu is basic, you could get it at Opa:( Spreads and pita bread, spanakopita that is ok, the salmon was basic with farro and a butter sauce, the filet mignon was cooked nicely, but everything on the plate seemed outdated. Recipes from 20 years ago. If you want a fine dinning experience worth the money go to Le Papillon, Manresa, or Plummer Horse. I left feeling annoyed that we waisted a nice dinner here.
We had a wonderful time celebrating My husband’s birthday! Delicious food and great service!
We used this for our anniversary. It is pretty more than good enough quality for the purpose. Service is good, people are good, food is good. I recommend this place for any important occasion.
The food here is always outstanding. I love the lamb meatballs and tried the crab cake for the first time and it was delicious. All of the meat dishes are outstanding and the beignets and the baklava are great. The only frustrating thing for me is that we have been coming here for years and always stay at the Hotel Los Gatos. They no longer allow you to charge to the room. So I had come down without my wallet expecting to charge it to the room with no luck.
Great lamb chops. Great food.
We love Dio Deka! We love the food, ambience and service.
Food is delicious.
It was my bday dinner and it was fantastic! Food was fabulous!
Horrible experience. I like their food generally but I specifically requested a “good table, not in a corner outside” for a birthday and they assured me on the phone, yes. We got there and they stuck us in the worst table, in a corner, next to the stand where the order screen and bussing items are. Every 2-3 minutes, staff was using it and right on top of us. I asked a gentleman that looked like a manager who kept going there if I spoke to him earlier on the phone about my requesting a specific type of table and that I ended up with the opposite. His response was “I don’t answer the phone.” He didn’t even try to resolve or inquire about it. Not one word to ask me if further about the issue. He definitely appeared to be a manager. Further, our server was too bothered to bring out the large porter house for a photo before cutting , despite fact he was our server and offered (his idea) to do that a couple months prior. He acted very rude about the request like it was ridiculous . Very snobby. I ordered the most expensive red by the glass—not at all a fair full standard poor. Ridiculous, but we didn’t complain. Husbsnd said he remembered that last time as well. Husband said we are not coming back. Not treated well for spending nearly 600 dollars. I still left full tip however given pandemic etc. they think they are above folks and need to put customers first. Very overpriced and not comparable to Evvia or Kokari.
We have been going to Dio Deka for years and it never disappoints. Service and food quality is outstanding!
This is one of of long standing favorite restaurants, which is why we were terribly disappointed on this occasion.
The staff and kitchen seemed to be overwhelmed, as evidenced by Greek salad not prepared as requested, wrong fish served, and lamb chops served raw inside. We water at least 30 minutes from finishing our appetizers to receiving the mains, which, as noted, were not what we ordered and/ grossly undercooked.
When the lamb chops were reserved it seemed they had been microwaved - I ordered them medium and they were served well done and dry.
We’ll probably wait until after the pandemic before visiting again. Very disappointing indeed.
We love the atmosphere and usually the food is fantastic. This visit the Horiatiki salad was made with tomatoes that were not at all ripe and the dressing was over powered by too much oregano. The star of the meal was dessert. The house made Greek Yogurt with honey an berries is fantastic. Entree prices have got excessive. $48 for a pork chop is a bit much.
Wonderful food and service with excellent drink menu. Deserts fabulous.
Flawless meal and service
Everyone is getting back into their swing. A couple of key items weren't available yet.
A little of their game on the timing of service. However, what they do do well, they are still hitting it out of the park. They have a high bar, and they will get back to it. Just not there as of now, but still very good!
For the second time, my dining experience at Dio Deka was disappointing. The ambiance despite outside only dining was acceptable, but again the food was less than so-so.
This prices certainly demand better quality. Charges for split plates and surcharges not noted beforehand also detracted from the overall experience. The wine list even during this COVID time is ridiculously high.
I will think twice before returning to this restaurant which I had enjoyed on several prior occasions.
Dio Deka amazing as always, everything was perfection.
My husband and I came here as one of our only nights out this year to celebrate our anniversary. It was everything I wanted and more.
The food was fantastic (I had the branzino and my husband had the famous lamb), the service was incredible and we just had a really wonderful time.
The only thing I was nervous about is that the outdoor dining (which was gorgeous and romantic in their courtyard with the lights hanging above) didn't allow for a lot of breezes in our area, being that it again was in a courtyard and had walls but an open top. None of the people at tables wore masks, so I was a little concerned about covid risk. However, it has been a week since our visit and both my husband and I feel fine, so it likely is safe.
We hope to be back again in the near future!
Loved the “ new” outdoor space. Service was excellent. They were always checking on us and ensuring we had a great experience. My fish Benzino was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The drinks are on the pricey side.
Best steaks - always. Pricey but worth it! Will go back again.
We have been coming here for years and wanted to dine here for Valentines Day. The service was very rushed. I felt like it was a race to get us out of there. We ordered our bottle of wine with dinner and the waiter asked if we wanted the bill when we said we couldn't order more food because we were full. He came back 3 times to ask for the bill despite my full glass of wine. As newlyweds, we wanted to enjoy our first Valentine's day dinner, however being rushed to finish dinner within 30-45 minutes was an uncomfortable and frustrating dining experience. I understand the need to turn over tables, but with half the tables being empty, it felt rude to be rushed.
Super fun evening for outdoor dining on Valentine’s Day.
We are a very middle class couple, and $200 is not something we spend all the time on a dinner. My husband and I hadn't been on a date in a year (because of the pandemic) so this was an outing we really were excited about. The waiter was very difficult to understand, he told us the specials and tried to up-sell something to add to the filet mignon that I ordered. Because he was so hard to understand, I didn't add that to the meal because I had no idea how much it was going to add to the bill. We could definitely feel his judgement on our "small" bill - the $200 I mentioned was for an appetizer, two entrees, and a side (no drinks, no dessert). I'm not complaining about the price, we planned on spending about that much. He bragged to us his excitement for selling something very expensive to the table behind us (where he spent much of his time while we waited for our order to be taken), then we could hear him bragging about another table that "just came in for dessert" and spent $39,000. To say the least, it was a bit uncomfortable and even though the food was good I don't think we'll be back which maybe doesn't matter since we only spent a measly $100/person.
Outdoor dining environment, wait staff Danny, and food transported us to Greece for the evening. Have so missed dining out. This evening felt like a luxury and was a much needed break from covid shelter in place. We were safe with distancing and other protocols, warm from the heaters, and nourished by the delicious food.
We'll be back! Love the ambiance of this place and the people are always awesome
Wonderful server Athos, very engaging and helpful, loved the Pre-appetizer and the beautifully prepared spanakopita,, the lamb, both fish dishes, excellent. Very expensive for sitting in a makeshift space for covid. All delicious however. Try to eat in the middle of the dining rather than street side.
Wonderful staff, excellent wine recommendations, bone in rib-eye was phenomenal!
Birthday dinner for my son.
We had the pleasure of dining at Dio Deka last Saturday and Sunday evening. We were staying at Hotel Los Gatos and had a reservation for Sunday but decided to see if we could get in on Saturday last minute... even though they were very busy... they squeezed us in. I heard wonderful things about Chef Kevin and I couldn’t wait to dine here and he didn’t disappoint!! Both nights our experience at this charming restaurant was excellent! Starting from Service... Saturday with Jeremy and Sunday with Daniele. Both took very good care of us and both went over and beyond. The food, wine & cocktails were absolutely Amazing!
Some of my favorites-
Warm pita bread - Yum!
Grilled Octopus - very flavorful and tender, not chewy. Craving it right now!
Scallops- perfectly cooked and delicious.
Crab Cake - I am not a fan of crab cakes. The few times I have had them they are so dry and bland, but not this one! You actually taste the crab and tastes so fresh. Delicious!
Village Salad - I ordered both nights. So refreshing with chilled cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, bell pepper, olives, and a block of feta... I know it’s just a salad, but it’s the best!
For the Main course -
Airline Chicken - Mary’s chicken - so tender and with great flavor.
Osso Buco - I heard this was Chef Kevin’s Grandma’s recipe. I didn’t try it but my Hubby said it was 5 stars ⭐️
Truffle Burger - I did try this one and it has to be one of the best burgers I’ve ever had!! Tons of flavor!
As for the desserts... I honestly don’t know what each one was but they were all delicious and made to perfection by Chef Enzo 💗
This place is 5 stars all the way! It definitely did not disappoint and I can’t wait to go back!! I highly recommend!
Fantastic food. Great ambience. Excellent service.
The food was excellent as always at Dio Deka. The service was a bit slower in terms of getting our food to us. Perhaps it was a very busy night for them on Saturday. But our server was great and did everything possible to take care of us through the delay in the food.
The absolute best meal I’ve ever had (maybe my person Er gummies helped 🤷🏼♀️)
The porterhouse - each bite was savored for minutes - done perfectly-seasoned perfectly
The salmon - moist (yesss, I said it!) and a flavor that wasn’t over powered by any seasoning or sauce it was absolutely the most perfect salmon I’ve had. Served with butternut squash and faro (which I’ve never had but I am now a fan)
Side of seasonal veggies - all cooked perfectly so as to retain a perfect crispness
The pita and spread trio is always yummy - nom nom
The desert - o-m-g - seriously this chocolate lava-esque cup of absolute divinity
I literally danced in my chair with every bite
A money memorable birthday dinner celebration
But that’s only 1/2 the experience - Daniele is absolutely a pleasure enjoy our meal with.
Daniele - grazie per una cena fantastica
Table 53, 630pm 11/11/20
Jeremy was excellent as a host. Food was great. It was a little cold eating outdoors on a cold evening but the staff made it work with heaters etc.
We had a wonderful dinner!! Everything was so delicious from our appetizers.....assorted spreads and spanakopita to the branzino and lamb chops and to the fabulous homemade ice cream!! We lov
If you can afford a few extra $$ - Dio Deka is a safe Covid time outdoor “foodie treat” across from Los Gatos High School. Great drink menu and lovely setting.
Food was absolutely amazing. Cocktails were perfect as well. Outdoor ambience and heat lamps made the evening feel perfect and did not feel like we were eating outdoors in the 60 degree temperature. Perfect!
Perfect seating are on front patio. Service efficient and friendly. Food very good
This place is pretty good. The food is good and service is good as well. All the waiters are very attentive. The food came out really fast and on point.
