Barbecue
Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is a classic barbecue joint and live music venue. The meats at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que are smoked to perfection, and there are also numerous salads, appetizers and sandwiches on the menu as well. With a full bar that features a range of craft beers and cocktails, the atmosphere at here is laidback and fun. Start with a swag plate that includes a range of appetizers such as smoked wings, deviled eggs, fried green tomatoes and spicy shrimp boil. Larger plates at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que come straight from the pit and include racks of ribs St. Louis style as well as pulled pork and brisket.

I disappointed with our dining experience. The portions were smaller than one would expect at a BBQ joint. I ordered wings as an entree, which came out cold. I sent them back and they were taken off the bill. Overall, it was not a memorable meal.

I'm a Dinosaur fan. Harlem is the only one I haven't been to yet. This one had excellent food, but seems to be having some growing pains. The Saturday we were there, they had a problem with a purveyor and did not have ribs. I will say that this proved to be a blessing in disguise. It forced me (and the other 2 people in our group) to order something different. Tres Niños is my go to. The manager was very accommodating and allowed for substitutions. I subbed the sausage, my wife substituted chicken, and the third (a first visit) substituted the jerk lamb (a CHI unique offering). We were all very happy with the results. (But we still like your ribs). I hope this one continues to grow and is successful. Additionally, I continue to grumble that you skipped over my city (CLE) and we don't have a Dinosaur BBQ yet.

Dinosaur has a great happy hour with $5 cocktails and apps in the bar section - solid deals. They also have a really good combo platter deal that is great for groups -- the menu said for groups of 4-6, we had 4 hungry adults and still had plenty of leftovers -- easily could've served 6. Though we didn't sit there, we noticed a really adorable outdoor patio in the back of the restaurant as we were leaving. Service was ok -- we were our server's only table for the first half of the meal, but as soon as she got seated a 2nd table we were practically ignored. Asked for some condiments once our food arrived, and she didn't bring them until we were almost finished with the meal. When it was time to check out, their POS was down and they said we couldn't use the gift card we had. I had bought the gift card the week before for my Dad's birthday, and we were there specifically to use the $100 gift card, so that was frustrating. After telling them that the gift card was $100, they were more inclined to actually help us use it. Why they wouldn't have made the same effort for a lower value I don't know. It took a while to ultimately get the check settled due to these issues which made getting to our show at IO a bit of a rush.

The was good, but the service was horrible. We had to ask for napkins and silverware.... after of appetizers arrived. The waitress was more interested in what appeared to be her boyfriend who was eating in the bar, rather than her customers. The kitchen forgot part of our meal too.... definitely will NOT go back!

Live nearby and we eat here somewhat regularly. Always have good food and good service but when we are lucky enough have Brandy as our server it means great service. Four of us shared an appetizer and then couldn't finish our family style dinner so we took about 1/3 of it home so we could leave room for the amazing peanut butter pie for dessert.

Dinosaur BBQ has a very chain/corporate feel to it. The BBQ was nothing special with the exception of the lamb, which was unusual and tasty. The rest of the BBQ had an odd, somewhat chemical flavor to it and very little smoke. The restaurant itself is pleasant in much the same way that an Appleby's is pleasant - it'd be a perfectly acceptable fast casual restaurant in a mall next to a Chili's but it's not a destination BBQ spot.

Love their chicken wings. Really great wings. Appreciate all the gluten free options. Brisket was incredibly dry, ribs had very little meat on them, and the pulled pork wasn't tender. Sauces were good. I had high hopes but it's not very authentic. The Whole Foods across the street has better BBQ.

Great staff and knowledgable waiter. Consistent food. Only downside is that they ran out of lamb which is the main reason we chose this restaurant over other Bbq places slightly further away from my neighborhood.

The food was underwhelming and the portions too small. I ordered the lamb for example and it came in a small pile but I figured that's not too bad. However the pile was just all rice with a little shredded lamb covering the top. The brisket was tough and chewy and about ⅔ fat that was inedible. The ribs were okay but again very fatty. In total I think each of us left half the food on the plate because it was just fat. Now I don't eat much but after that dinner we had to go out for another one because we were still hungry.

Been to Dino BBQ in NY & NJ, always great food every time we go. The only drawback is they use to serve PEPSI & now switched to coke. For some it may not be a big deal, but for me I like to have something I can drink with my meal. But otherwise TOTALLY RECOMMEND GOING THERE.

The BBQ was very tender and fresh! I believe they smoke it right on facility. We had pulled pork and brisket and they were equally good. Portions were adequate and they come with sides. I liked the coleslaw, it was crisp and not soggy. The fried rice was a little greasy and the beans was a bit sweet. The cornbread was ok. Cocktails were awesome! Get the Donkey! One thing I like is how they deal with food allergies. They have a lot of gluten free options and make sure that they're cooked and plated separately. Our server was great! She was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is new and trendy. But it could use more TV to watch the games.

We met friends here. Great beer on tap selection. Fantastic ribs. Cucumber tomato side was amazing. Waiter was friendly and helpful. Great interior. We ate downstairs by the bar. There was music upstairs which was good but would be too loud to have a conversation. So it's great you have a choice to be near music or not.

I'm originally from Syracuse, NY which is where Dinosaur originates from. It was a very comforting experience to have fried green tomatoes, deviled eggs and some wings slathered in BBQ sauce just like I did in Syracuse. Same quality of nice people to assist & a few Chicago touches to keep your mind in Illinois :)

They didn't hold my reservation. I wasn't late or anything. I was there to watch a game, which they knew because they called me a few days in advance to ask if I was watching that particular game. Ended up seated at a spot where I couldn't see the game. So, terrible experience.

Pulled pork, brisket, drunken shrimp boil, OH man, and the pulled lamb, It was to die for! Even the sides were great. I would definitely recommend this place to BBQ aficionados, foodies, and anyone looking for a good meal.

Being from Syracuse, the home of the original Dinosaur BBQ, we were a little skeptical of the expansion, but we had a great experience here last Sunday in the late afternoon. Our waiter was super friendly and efficient plus the food was delicious! Being able to make a reservation was a real bonus because in Syracuse there is ALWAYS a big wait. Of course part of the charm of the original is rubbing elbows with everyone, but sometimes there just isn't time to wait.

Mac & Cheese was the best thing about my entire meal! And let me tell you -- it was REALLY GOOD. I was a little disappointed we didn't get anything to snack on before our meals came out, i.e. pickles or chips, like other BBQ Joints offer. Their beer list was OK - not my preferred kinds of beer, but my boyfriend really like the Brooklyn Lager. Food came out fast. Nothing was wrong, but I don't know if I'll go back -- it was just alright.
