This is hard to articulate, but I had a hard time finding a sushi roll that I liked. I’m kind of a plain Jane girl when it comes to sushi.. mostly because I lived in Hawaii for several years and I developed a higher pallet. The sushi roll was good but not great. I gave my sushi roll to my husband instead of asking for a new one because sometimes sushi rolls are hit and miss. It was called the hot mess. And I moved over to a soup and salad. The miso soup and a cucumber salad, which were great. Then for dessert I asked what they had and the waiter told me they had a dessert sushi roll. Add another nearby restaurant there are banana spring rolls that are served that are very good so I said yes to the dessert. Sushi roll. Come to find out. It was just a regular sushiRoll with a Rum pineapple dressing, which makes it sweet, but not a dessert. I tried one bite. I didn’t like it and the waiter said well you just might not like sushi then. Which is not true. But instead of the waiter asking if there was something else that we could try, he just gave us a ticket and that was at. The waiter himself was nice but kind of slow on his speed of service. Which would not be a reason for frustration except for the restaurant wasn’t that busy. Just the level of concern for the customer what a little unsatisfying. Overall, I left and it did not ruin our valentines. I just think that a little more concerned from the server would’ve been nicer especially on a holiday.

We attended the Sea Smoke wine dinner with a friend in town from NY. The last time I was in NY this same friend treated me to a dinner at Le Bernadin, so the pressure was on to provide something at least close. Amelia and her staff did not disappoint. the chef's creations and the wine pairings were OUTSTANDING! Look, I am not going to say we can really compare Amelia's to Le Bernadin, one of NY's top restaurants with multiple Michelin stars....because Amelia's was BETTER! And that was not just my opinion, it was the opinion of my guest who certainly has a more discerning palate than I do. Don't wait for a wine dinner to go. My wife and I enjoy Amelia's for any occasion when we want to know we are going to have a dining experience which is outstanding...like Tuesday evenings...any Tuesday evening. Or any other night for that matter...the point is, Amelia's is one of the top spots in Tulsa. Try it for yourself and share it with friends you want to impress.

Steak
Tulsa
About the restaurant
This is a restaurant where steak is the star —where great steak is the rule, not the exception. Mahogany's steaks are the finest custom-aged U.S. Prime Midwestern Beef, known for its excellence in marbling, texture and flavor. We broil it exactly the way you like it at 900 degrees to lock in the corn-fed flavor. We serve it sizzling on a heated plate so that it stays hot throughout your meal. Selections from the ocean include Australian Rock lobster and the freshest fish daily based on availability. Service will be outstanding but provided in a casual, less intimidating fine dining atmosphere.

The food was delicious for brunch! We had a baby shower party of 20 and the service was great. They were easy to work with for the party and reservation. They did a shortened menu for our party with personalized menus laid out on our plates. Highly recommend to dine as normal (the food was great) or was a perfect patio spot for a party.

Management was hospitable and accommodating when it came to making last minute changes to our group’s reservation. Our server, Faith, did an excellent job. And the food (we had the fish and chips) was excellent. The fries were good but a bit small.
