Quality Foods Market offers a unique culinary experience, featuring authentic Italian cuisine, in a relaxed, elevated casual, and intimate atmosphere. Enjoy a seasonally changing, from scratch menu, featuring both classic and modern pastas; hand cut steaks from USDA Certified Premium Hereford Heritage 1881 Beef; New Zealand Lamb Chops; USDA Certified Prime Veal; and the freshest seafood available, flown in from around the world throughout the week. In addition, Quality Foods Market offers a curated wine list with selections from all over the world, and an unrivaled craft and imported beer selection. Executive Chef Christopher Houp takes the time to interact with each and every guest throughout the dining experience, taking the Chef's Table concept to a whole new level. Tables are limited, with just 16 seats inside, and an additional 16 seats for al fresco dining. Our guests are treated to a true Italian dining experience, as we allow a minimum of three hours between reservations.

Open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday, the dining room’s open concept, walnut flooring, and glowing pendant globes surround an eight-seat Christian Liaigre chef’s counter and a lively open kitchen, creating a convivial, yet elevated environment. Taking its cues from Fraser’s Greek heritage and his admiration of Turkish and French cuisines, Lilac’s menu is a balance of fresh, seasonal, and locally-sourced items with bold flavors and exquisite presentations.

Dolce Italia was established in 2010 by Tiziana Di Costanzo who came from Ischia, an island in the Gulf of Naples. Using a combination of classic Italian dishes, family recipes passed down for generations, and warm hospitality, Dolce Italia has built a reputation in Sarasota as a destination for anyone seeking great food and ambiance. In 2015 Matthew joined as manager of the front of house and is now a managing partner of Dolce Italia. The kitchen staff trained by Tiziana from the beginning are still with the restaurant with Maria being the capocuoco.
Some of the specialities Dolce Italia has become famous for are the Napoletan Eggplant- a tender sautee eggplant with fresh tomatoes crowned with ricotte, the Trenne Dolce Italia- the signature pasta dish with creamy tomato sauce, fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and mushroom.

Dolce Italia has become our favorites and never disappoints! We have many favorites we love and the lasagne and the chicken piccata at the top of the list, so far. But we just went for the Savour Sarasota and tried new dishes, all fabulous. The decor is charming, and the owner, Matthew, is delightful and makes us feel very welcome. Highly recommend!!!

Italian Restaurant& wine bar in Sarasota. Where you are a stranger only once.
His philosophy served him well with his previous Sarasota businesses. Café Gabbiano located on Siesta Key was originated by the Migliaccio family in 2003 where is four sons grew in and out of the restaurant business.
A second venture in downtown Sarasota was opened and designed by Pietro in 2012 named Casantica, a small old house converted to a quaint homey restaurant. Both restaurants are now under new ownership.
Now, this small intimate place is where I can have fun serving and meeting new friends. Benvenuti.

everything was very lovely. I just thought $80 per person was a bit much but elegant, classy low-key event.

We always have a great time at Sophie’s! Food was great and the service is way beyond great! We all had the Avenue burger (they were cooked as ordered, which is getting harder to find these days) and had just the right amount of toppings. We will be back!

Everyone in my party agreed that our expectations were definitely exceeded by our experience. The wine pairings were completely amazing, and the food was unlike anything I’ve ever had. Although, one in our party was from Sweden, and remarked how much the experience reminded her of home. We were all particularly impressed with the dill oil presented on the scallops. Beautiful presentations of all courses and the servers allowed for a very European pause between courses that allowed us to actually enjoy three hours eating and talking in an airport lobby restaurant! Our complements to the chef!

It’s always amazing! We had both had a busy rough Friday and needed a date reset. This restaurant feels like going home to us. So grateful for the ambiance and sweet people here.
