Lovely dining experience overall. Though the servers were young, obviously they were well trained. We’re a huge fan of foie gras and order it whenever on a menu, which is occurring fewer times in the past several years. The dish was creative and delicious. We even considered ordering it again for dessert. My wife’s gnocchi were pillows of deliciousness and we enjoyed the slight browning of each gnocchi. The peas in the gnocchi as well as the peas in my scallop dish, however, were beyond Al dente. The major disappointment were my scallops. Frankly, they never should have left the kitchen. They were pitifully small and overcooked. I should have received better for $41. Our server kindly offered me to return the dish to the kitchen, but I declined. Don’t ask we why.

About the restaurant
Taverns have had a constant important presence in American life since the late 1600's. Many of them, which were attached to inns, were opened as resting places for travelers needing a place to stop, relax and fortify themselves. Of course the local residents frequented the taverns too, purchasing drinks and meals as well as participating in lively conversations. Taverns were the focal point for neighbors to come together, exchange news, talk of politics, and share in the general feeling of conviviality. Taverns were firmly established as gathering places for the light hearted socializing, serious talk, and of course, a
hearty meal accompanied by a tasty libation or two.
In this American tradition, we at Mill’s Tavern welcome you with genuine enthusiasm. Our staff is warm, friendly, caring, and knowledgeable. So please come, relax, visit with friends and family. You will leave refreshed and nourished, body and soul.

Fantastic restaurant! Great location and amazingly good food. Wine was also excellent and the pours were better than average. But that’s not the best part. Our server, Allison, was the best! Friendly, helpful, great suggestions and so warm and funny. Probably the best server we’ve ever had. We’d go back for her just as much as for the food!! Wonderful place for dinner!!

The experience was exceptional all around. I took my GF from France, who never has good remarks about restaurants, and she loved it. Super quiet, easy parking, great service, food was exceptional. Can’t say enough good things.

We reserved outside, our server was attentive and very nice. He recommended a good wine pairing with our dinner. The escargot appetizer is to die for!!! Do not pass that up. I split the duck breast meal with a friend and it was very good. Will definitely be back!

The veal sorento and veal francaise were both excellent, best veal in town as the saying goes. Our server Chelsey was also excellent, very knowledgeable about the menu. We will return soon.

I had a business dinner last night and everything was great. We started at the back bar and moved to our table for dinner. We all enjoyed the Providence Restaurant week menu and the food was awesome. Our server did a great job and provided great suggestions. I especially liked the Creme Brulé desert.
