Tasting menu from a multi James Beard nominated restaurant; Our menu format is market driven "chef's choice" multi course tasting.

Located in the heart of historic downtown Ocean Springs, Mississippi, our establishment is a cozy historic house converted into a small restaurant. Our capacity allows us to serve a maximum group size of 4 at this time.

Join us in our culinary adventure; Owner chefs Alex (the husband from Mississippi Gulf Coast) and Kumi (the wife from Japan) create menus inspired by the seasons, preservation efforts, and whatever sounds tasty each day for our valued guests. We are a proud supporter of small scale local / regenerative farmers and sustainable seafood industry.

So please, let us cook for you. It is what we do best!

Note: please allocate minimum of two hours for dining. Menu modification due to food allergy may be accommodated with notice in advance (at least 48 hours) when possible, but not guaranteed. We are a small kitchen with shared equipments.

We always have a wonderful night our waiter Chris makes sure of that he is always always making sure of that. The food is awesome. The ambience with Jesse hill singing just keeps us coming back. We make sure Jesse is singing when we come. We could not have a better night. We will be dining here tomorrow night as well

All the food was great. Beet salad & Shrimp and grits was great BUT the banana pie was outstanding my favorite part .

Wonderful fine dining experience. Upon entering the restaurant are warmly greated by the hostess, inregards to reservations. In the distance you can barely hear faint conversations over the distinct sound of silverware touching porcelain plates. I knew then I was in the right place for a great meal. Our waitress Amanda greated us promptly and quickly took our drink and food orders. We started with the Shrimp and Crawfish dip truly a warm creamy delight. Let me just say we got shrimp with every dip! We then placed our entree orders. My wife ordered the 6oz Fillet Louisiane (med well). Her steak was like butter! It melted in your mouth. Then it came topped with (3) large perfectly cooked shrimp and creamy sauce. I selected the 18-20oz Ribeye (med well). This steak was a nicely sized and seasoned with a great seard exterior crust and just the right amount of marbling top with seasoned butter. The steaks both came with your choice of salad. We choice the house with homemade ranch dressing. We order (2) sides the Cheesy Bacon and Brocolli Au-gratin, and the Asiago Mac and Cheese. The mac and cheese was a true pallet pleaser by itself. The broccoli was tender with just enough snap, with bacon and cheeese very pleased with it. These sides were great portions and enough to share. The that manager that night was Chris, half way towards then end of our meal, he greated us at the table and thanked us for dining at Ely's for our anniversary. That was very nice. Most managers aren't known or seen until an issue arises. Lastly we fished the experience with the rich and flavorful Salted Carmel Cheescake.

After taking a break to raise their two girls, they have returned with the same great food and service everyone came to know. Great steaks and seafood along with their famous tamales are still the main attraction along with an impressive bar and wine offerings. Our waiter Chris was exceptional! I had the filet and my husband had the aged ny strip. The filet was wonderful, my husband also thought my filet was better than his strip! The gouda au gratin potato’s was also a fav of ours.

We had a wonderful experience! My boyfriend and I went for his birthday and sat, and we loved it so much, we went back for my birthday. We had lovely experiences both times, and loved sitting both inside and outside. It was a great time, and we will definitely return!

At Restaurant 1818 you will dine in what was originally the Men's and Ladies’ Parlors of the Main House. These two parlors are adorned with authentic period crystal gasoliers. These impressive reproduction chandeliers and wall sconces were custom made for Monmouth by the artisans at Waterford Crystal in Ireland.

Guests have complete dining freedom when they reserve a table at Restaurant 1818. Here guests can select menu items on an a la carte basis from the gourmet appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, and desserts offered that evening. It was, yet again, a wonderful meal and experience! We had the grilled veal chop, cooked to perfection, and the duck. The sides went perfectly with the meat. Our server Rianna was great! Such a beautiful and elegant atmosphere. We walked the beautiful gardens before dinner, which is a can't miss opportunity. We will be back!
