Higher Ground is a bistro and bar located in Manchester city centre that focuses on seasonality within the UK using produce sourced from local suppliers and producers.

The restaurant is open Wed-Sat at dinner and Fri-Sat lunch. On Wed/Thurs, reservations can almost always be welcomed at 5:30pm, ensuring that you can arrive at the theatre, show or stadium in good time. At lunch a £38pp seasonal sharing menu is offered alongside an à la carte menu. At dinner, both an à la carte and a seasonal sharing menu at £58pp are available. Both menus are available when sat at the kitchen bar counter.

We often hold space for walk-ins at the kitchen bar counter so pop by and have some plates and a glass of wine! Both menu options are available at the kitchen bar counter.

Reservations of up to twelve guests are accepted. For parties of 7x guests and over, the seasonal sharing menu is served.

Great food & service as always , we love it here and love bringing friend to try it . A lovely afternoon and even tho we overstayed our table reservation they accommodated us and we had a wonderful time.

It’s just five minutes from Jn 22 of the M62 and the inn is a real treasure, more than 450 years old and packed with memorabilia as well as stoves & log fires in every room. Excellent food served by an attentive and helpful waiter - Loui. The partridge we had from the specials menu was delicious, and all the food was very tasty and beautifully presented. We had a reasonably priced bottle of wine from the extensive wine list. Will definitely visit again for a special occasion.

Amazing in every way. Accommodated a large group of 12 despite a busy Sunday and a tiny kitchen. Tried most roasts in Manchester and this stands out as one of, if not the best. Will be back very soon. Thank you!

We’re all about vibrant flavours, locally-sourced ingredients and homemade marinades and sauces. Watch our team of creative chefs make fresh flatbreads, from scratch, in our open theatre-style kitchen. We cook all of our breads on a robata grill, giving each kebab that lovely charcoal flavour.

We also offer a selection of tasty non-babs, meze dishes and desserts. Our drinks list includes freshly made iced teas and a variety of beers, wines and soft drinks. We have recently expanded and now offer an amazing choice of cocktails, from savoury to sweet and everything in between.
