Food was fantastic. Server was also fantastic and knowledgeable guiding us from appetizer and salad pairing to choosing the best Pino noir to have with our short ribs. Spot on perfect. The chef explained his preparation of his short ribs and how he removed the bones, fat and gristle leaving only the perfectly cooked meat. Delicious

Contemporary American
Heights / Washington
About the restaurant
Taking his passion and the experience he gained staging at Picholine in NYC and Madrona Manor in Napa along with his work at Brennan’s, Haven, Soma and most recently as consulting Chef for Saint Genevieve in West Ave, at 26-years-old Kevin Naderi opened his first restaurant, Roost in December, 2011. Roost’s 50-seat space is cozy and unpretentious amid walls paneled with old shutters and Edison-like light fixtures fashioned from gutter drains. Roost’s rustic and diverse menu is revised every three weeks, inspired by local availability of farm-fresh seasonal ingredients and flavors of the world including the American south, Asia and from the Middle East, taking advantage of Naderi’s Persian heritage. Says Naderi, “I’ve taken a little bit from everywhere I’ve worked. It’s a good showcase for what we do.”

The food was spot on. We tried a variety of the foods on their menu. Everything came out very quick and was delicious. We had our two kids with us and they actually enjoyed every single item from the cauliflower to the fish and grits plates. The food is fresh, tastes amazing and substantial amounts on every plate. We loved it and will be back soon.

Our server (Sarah?) was just great. Straight forward, read us well and not overbearing. Food outstanding. Glasses of wine way overpriced for the small volume. I have noticed this on previous occasions, so went with beer instead but would NEVER compromise it for my wife of 46 years. Cannot remember how many visits including when it was Peli Peli years ago, but obviously like most of it to return so often!

S48 comes through again with an absolutely amazing experience. I took a first-timer that is a bit a food snob and he was blown away. Of course, Michelle A made the experience memorable cause she’s the best ever.
