Superb food though portions were WAY too large by at least 1/2. I a country where obesity is a significant health the size of the excellent portions was too large. I would happily pay the same for smaller portions. Another point would be to increase the light ever so slightly at each table. I needed the light on my iPhone to read the menu.
Our server was excellent and the pace of service was perfect. We wil be back and order 1/2 size portions.
Fun for brunch or any meal. Good food and service.
Great flavors along with pleasant attentive service. We will be back.
It is close to home, a pleasant atmosphere, casual, good food. White table cloths are a welcome touch and the waitstaff are always friendly and want to make any adjustment/arrangement you wish.
Enjoy!

Seafood, Asian, Spice, FLAVOR! All mixed together makes for a phenomenal evening. There is meat on the menu, but we were more in the mood for seafood which was available in abundance. One of our group is vegetarian and the waiter went out of his way to point out vegetarian dishes and those which could be made vegetarian. Food is somewhat spicy - though I am certain they would tone it down if requested. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and appropriately attentive. My only regret is I could only eat one appetizer, main and dessert! Everything merited a taste! We will be back for sure.

Amazing and awesome food. Creative flavors and most knowledgeable server. Such fun! The setting looking over the Potomac was superb. And it was a beautiful evening. Tables are close, but not too close. Food was very very good. The Tagliatelle was the absolute best!! Light flavorful and perfectly sauced. The onion soup had a broth to die for. Our server was Brent, regrettably he has moved on. Her is wonderful. In Summer with door open to the patio it will be even more amazing. You can spend a lot here- but you can get away with reasonable as well. An outstanding addition to the Ward area.
It's our go-to place when cooking is not going to happen. The burgers are super good and the pizzas excellent as well. Servers are fun and informative. Food is not fancy but good and "homespun" - think fried chicken, meat loaf and occasional steaks. Salads are good as well.

Marea is a exceptionally fine restaurant! The decor is beautiful and the service superb. Our server was very knowledgeable about every dish. And based on our questions, the sommelier steered us to a less expensive wine than we had originally chosen. Pastas are made in house and are light and most flavorful. They are available in 1/2 portions as well as full sized. Our waiter brought us 2 dessert portions even though we claimed we were too full- we devoured them!! This is an expensive restaurant; well worth it.
It was Valentine Day and a lovely evening. The food was fixed price with many choices. We enjoyed every bite!! Our server was very knowledgeable and generous- when the meal was slow to arrive, he comped us 2 glasses of wine.
Enjoy!!
Service was exemplary! I had scallops which were beautifully served and very tasty. The scallops were very large, served with a delicious sauce. My husband had swordfish AI poivre which was equally delicious. Wines by the glass were plentiful and good. A winner all around.
Le Chaumiere has been on the Washington scene for more than 40 years and is still a go-to restaurant! The food is typical French - both modern and old fashioned and the ambiance comfortable and cozy. My husband had the most delicious pike quenelle in lobster sauce and I had gravlax and also calf brains. Absolutely delicious! We have been many times and will definitely return!

Awesome! We have been to Tosca many times - it is always great. This time it was better than ever. Despite the fact that it was the last night of DC Restaurant week and the restaurant was absolutely packed full, the service was superb. Service was efficient but not at all rushed. Flavors of food were exceptional. The freshly made pasta was as light as a feather and sauces were sublime. We also had a veal chop (each) - it was perfectly prepared. And despite being full to the brim we each had dessert - chocolate tart and tiramisu. The dessert measured up to the elegance and flavor of the rest of the meal. And as a final note, the wine list is well worth perusing; not inexpensive, but comprehensive and balanced. Enjoy Tosca; it is a winner!

Fun and interesting food. I wish the noise level were not so exuberant. There is nothing to absorb noise and it is a busy restaurant. There were many interesting dishes - the puffed pancake is a signature dish of Mr Chang and was excellent. But the beef rolls were superb as were the pork dumplings. Dishes are marked with chilis 1 - 5 signifying the spiciness of the dishes. Our 2 chili dishes were mild to my taste. They could be a bit more accurate in their description. While there is no valet parking, there are 2 large garages around the corner which are convenient. I liked it lots but wish it were just a tad more upscale.

Joes is our "go to" place when I am not in a cooking mood. The ambiance is casual and pleasant. The menu changes with the season and the servers are always very up beat. We tried the Autumn/Octoberfest menu and ordered a pork schnitzel. The serving size was ENORMOUS! My husband and I both ordered the same and should have ordered only 1 for the two of us. Authentic Greek/Mediterranean delicious food. There is a hint to hot spice which is just perfect. flavors are delectable from vegetarian to heavier meats. The lamb shoulder is to die for. While they do not have a specific gluten free menu, they have notations on their menu as to which foods are gluten free and there were many. Our grandson is not the most adventuresome eater and they were very accommodating to his tastes. My only criticism would be the foods, served tapas style, came out a bit too quickly. We highly recommend the restaurant for any and all occasions.

The hype about convivial is true - it is an awesomely exceptional restaurant! The food is created with whimsy and creativity, along with intriguing and excellent flavors. Don't miss the Southern fried coq au vin. The Hazelnut dacquoise was so wonderfully flavored without being overly sweet. I loved the cold leek appetizer which my husband and I shared. And the escargot in a blanket are so good I almost ordered a second helping!!

We went to rouge et blanc with high expectations. Unfortunately, the chef had left the night before and they had an extremely limited menu. the food was good - but not exceptional. the wine list was exceptional and well priced. the owner is the wine expert and he was on the premises. He was most gracious and quite apologetic re the state of the menu. It was fun but not what we had hoped.
I have been to many Japanese restaurants. I love Japanese food and am quite critical of what I order and how it tastes. IYASARE are utterly awesome! The menu is creative and inventive. We almost always go to Notti Bianchi pre Kennedy Center. The food is consistently excellent. The service is most pleasant and the menu changes frequently so one is never tired of the choices. I had the Tagliatelle with a veal ragu which was outstanding! The 1/2 portion was a great size along with an appetizer. The décor is minimalist, but it works. Most enjoyable!

Fools Mare is creative and has an extraordinarily competent kitchen. The Marinated oysters with caviar were utterly awesome. Also the lobster ravioli may have been the best pasta I have ever tasted. My husband's monkfish was similarly excellent.

Craft is a fun and interesting restaurant. First the wines, which are many and of excellent variety. Quite frankly, we also thought they were a bit over priced and we do not mind spending money on wine. The wall of wine is lovely to see and makes a good visual point in the restaurant. Meals are all served so they can be shared and we did share. I had the black bass and my husband the bavette. Both were very good. Our server was very knowledgeable and appropriately attentive. The decor is open and lovely. I particularly liked the lighting and photographic accents on the walls. I find nothing to criticize, but something about the restaurant, for us, did not quite click. We very much enjoyed our evening at Gotham Bar and Grill! Our waiter was superb - interactive, knowledgeable and pleasantly available. My Black cod was among the best I have had. Appetizer of crudo was cut a bit too thick, but delicious none-the-less. the wine list had Many choices at rational prices though the wine steward seemed to be in a hurry for us to order and we did find a lovely Austrian gruner veltliner. the evening begins with a trio of french fries with dipping sauces brought to the table. They were perfectly salted and very crispy. Delicious - even if they were a bit more than I should have eaten . I should have saved more room for a wonderful meal. I then had Ahi tuna tartare - elegantly mixed tableside followed by a filet of perfectly prepared elk. The potatoes that came with the elk were the tastiest ever. We had such a sublime evening! My husband and I are "foodies" for many years. We travel the world and find the best restaurants. Plume certainly fits in that category! The food was beautifully presented and exquisitely prepared. we had a wine paring dinner which was very well done. The sommelier was knowledgeable and interesting - he knows his wines! The setting is beautiful - what more can I say except you do have to save up for this special occasion.

I have been to Tavira many times and am always pleased. This is a solidly excellent restaurant with a Portuguese theme. the seafood is perfectly prepared and the caprese style salad was excellent - even the tomatoes in March tasted like tomatoes. Our server was very knowledgeable about what was being prepared and for the one guest at the table who did not eat garlic, the kitchen was very flexible, preparing the dish exactly as she requested. This is also a pretty restaurant - if a bit old fashioned. Prices are reasonable and the evening was a delight!

Erminia is superb!! We had the best time and the best food. The restaurant is small and intimate. wine list, while pricey, is broad and has choices from US, Italy and France. We found reasonably priced wines with the assistance of our waiter. The food is perfectly prepared. Dover sole was tender, flavorfull and elegant. The asparagus appetizer - baked and with a touch of honey was unique and most delicious. Can't wait to return!

Blacks Bar and Grill is better every time I visit - and that is often. If you go, and do, don't miss the tuna with grilled veggies - banana peppers, tomatillos, onions and more. It was awesome! Our server really knew his stuff and was appropriately attentive. My husband had Mahi Mahi which was done perfectly with a side of grilled cauliflower. We fought over it. The wine was served at the perfect temperature and the list allows much from which to choose.

What a fun, creative and delicious experience! Range is big - more than 14, 000 square feet according to our server. The space is casual - you are comfortable in jeans or in a shirt and tie. Private rooms are available. The menu is creative and one is able to do lots of mixing of a variety of flavors and items. I had one of their small pizzas - mozzarella and artichoke - superb. My husband had a steak also excellent. Salads are flavorful and unique. The goat cheese on mine was creamy and delicious. And the wine list - even by the glass - varies from good to outstanding with prices very fair. Can't wait to return.

I love Notti Bianche. We routinely come prior to dinner at the Kennedy and the food is consistently excellent. The service was superb. However, the table tops are looking a bit too worn. They either need refinishing, table cloths or a new table top all together. They detract from the ambience of the place. I know it is supposed to be rustic - but rustic has gone a bit far.

It was a special occasion "requiring" a steak house. And, as always, Ruth Chris delivered! My husband had a filet; I had a double thick lamb chops - awesome!! Every bite was excellent. A couple words of caution - the servings are very large; so you might wish to split an appetizer. I was trying not to indulge in calories, and as they put the # of calories in each dish on the menu, it was easy to count calories but not easy to go even a bit light on things. Oh well, it was a special occasion. There is construction going on outside the restaurant. A note on the website as to how to find the parking place would have been helpful. All-in-all an excellent evening.

While there are theoretically 4 courses, each course has several subsets. Every bite was better than the last. Le Cirque has a gleaming reputation and lives up to it! It is a beautiful restaurant - a bit of a circus theme in the main dining room which is elegant and not overdone. Everything about the restaurant is beautiful - decor people, food, service, ambience. the wine steward steered us to an excellent well balanced wine exactly in our price range. My husband's veal chop was better than any previously experienced. My black sea bass, a signature dish, was also very good - though a touch drier than it could have been. the fricasee of leeks with which it was served was heavenly. Ovation is what there is at Wolf Trap. The weather was predicted to be rainy, we had tickets to Wolf Trap and so we reserved at Ovations. This year they have only buffet! It was OK. The setting is lovely and the college servers are in good spirits and try their best to make you feel comfortable. I had a small piece of nice rare roast beef which was good and lots of salads, but there is nothing exciting about either the food or the wine selection. Ovations is the only "game in town" when the weather is predicted to be such that one cannot picnic. I just wish it were a bit better in the food and wine category

I had ice cold air blowing on me most of the evening -while our server understood, it was tough to get it regulated. The rest of the meal was excellent as well. And the service was excellent. Our main service seemed a bit off putting, but that may have been us. I have never seen such a wine list. I loved the way it was presented on a computer tablet, the choices were amazing both in variety and, quite frankly, in price. Notti Bianchi is our favorite for pre theater at the Kennedy Center. As we were enjoying our excellent meal, I wondered why we do not go at times other than theater. It was our anniversary and I mentioned to the Maitre d' as we arrived that he should bring champagne - which was done promptly - and for which we were not charged. Each of the servers - bread, water, w ine, food wished us a Happy Anniversry and a gratis anniversary dessert was brought to the table. The porterhouse for 2 was superb! And the side of parmesan gnocchi was light, airy and delectable. The service was at times a bit lacking - they forgot the amuse bouche and we had to ask for bread, but overall it was an outstanding evening with lots of attention to detail and care.

Splendid seafood with many more choices than are on the menu - go to the front of the restaurant and select the fish you want and then tell your server how you want it cooked. It arrives fresh and elegant. On the other hadn, the menu selections are superb. I had a tile fish appetizer which I will have next time as a main dish - that is an option too to make any appetizer into a main. The tile fish was crisped and served in a beautifully clear somewhat spicey broth accompanied by some mussels and veggies. It was both very pretty and very good.

This is a fun and very energetic restaurant. The food was very well done and the concept of Fresh Food from farmers who directly provide it is excellent. We had a delightrful server who had no clue about the food or wine. She had a pleasant personality, but could not follow through. The wine arrived after we had finished our meal and there was no acknowledgement that it should have been different. She knew nothing about the wines and could not find anyone that did! WE ate outside, so the noise level was very pleasant and the breeze kept the smell of traffic at bay. This is a pleasant not very expensive restaurant with excellent ordinary food. Nothing reallys special, but just good.

This is a FUN restaurant. The servers are very knowledgeable about the food and the food is superb. I wish they did not have the policy of waiting until everyone arrives prior to seating a party - when the restaurant is not full, not sure why this policy but it is a minor issue in the grand scheme of things. The mussels with pomme frites are to die for and the pea soup with meatballs of veal cheeks is superb! We will be back again.

the food was excellent, though perhaps not up to previous standards. The portions were so large that none of us very hungry good eaters could finish!

What a deliciously delightful restaurant! The only drawback is the noise level as there are no sound absorbers anywhere. We sat outside so we could hear ourselves think. We ordered mainly from the bar menu which was excellent. The heirloom tomato salad was outstanding and were the crab stuffed shells. The wine list is extensive and reasonably priced. We will go back again and again!

We have always enjoyed the food and ambiance of 2941 and under new management the food may be better than ever. The service was not quite up to par with the food - clearing wine glasses when there was still 1/2 bottle wine to be consumed! But over all we were very pleased and will certainly return.

Good food and flavors - asian + continental make for a wonderful dining experience. I had miso glaze black cod which was superb. Also their signature Tuna Tartare is exceptional.

a fun little restaurant that is trying hard. The service was caring and considerate. The menu is ambitious and what we had was good.

A very serviceable place to eat prior to a show at Wolf Trap. The food, while good, could be improved.

The food and creativity at 58 degrees and holding was excellent. OUr server was clueless. She had no idea of the order of serving bring appetizers and main dishes at the same time. She also had no idea how to open a wine bottle and broke the cork by overpulling. She was energetic and ebullient, but needed further direction and training.

Splendid food coupled with an excellent wine list. The waiter was a bit too much, but overall I would go back in a heart beat - when the bank gives me a small loan. Despite the price, it is worth every penny.

The food was superb - extremely creative and most flavorful! My fois gras almost melted in my mouth and the Peruvian gnocchi was like nothing I had ever had before. Our waiter was a delight; very knowledgeable concerning both the food and the wine and with a sense of humor. The only drawback is the noise level; I wish it were were a bit lower. At times my husband and I felt we were shouting at each other in order to be heard.
