Different Pointe of View Ratings and Reviews
The setting was very nice - good views of the city of Phoenix. I was wishing we had come earlier than our 6:00 reservation to enjoy a drink on the patio. The menu was somewhat limited but I believe most people could find something they wanted. Portions were small - relative to the pricing. Interesting preparation of the dishes - might not appeal to those with a less than sophisticated palate. Service was topnotch.
Took my wife to DPOV for her birthday. The ambiance was cozy, the view was incredible, the service was impeccable, and the food was delicious. Great place for a special occasion. One tip: if you can when making a reservation, look up the sunset time of the day and set your reservation about 15 minutes prior. The sky and the city are gorgeous as it transitions from dusk to night.
Fantastic meal, I try to come here when ever in town. Always have the Chefs sample and always been very impressed with the food and preparation. Best food and view in the country as far as I am concerned. Great service and people that care you have a great experience. All the way from parking your car to explaining your meal preparation.
I had the experience of a life time! We couldn't decide on what to eat, because everything on the menu caught our eye. So we decided on the 5 course meal selected by the chef. In my opinion, it was worth it. I did the wine pairing also. Our server Ian was phenomenal. His education to us on the wines they selected for us was an experience. He explained how each wine was made and what made them different from the other. I am not a huge wine person, but his expertise drove me towards enjoying it a little more in many different ways. The atmosphere is what brought me to this restaurant in the first place. A modern facility with the greatest view I have ever had for a dining experience. An overlook of Arizona while dining with your friends, family or the one you love is certainly and experience of a life time. The food that they served us was very unique. The flavor was all there. I would definitely come back to this restaurant in the future. Thank you again to our waiter Ian for the great experience!
I made a reservation and requested a table by the window to celebrate my husbands birthday. When i called to confirm the lady i spoke with assured me that we would have a cozy table by the window for the optimal view. Instead, we were sat at the top closest to the kitchen door where the noise was really loud. My chair was facing a cinderblock planter with tall plants in it so I couldn’t even see the view. Very disappointed especially since there were open tables by the window.
I had high hopes for this dinner, but the food was really quite unsatisfactory. I opted for the tasting menu. Not one course was executed well, and something seemed off with every plate. The pork belly in the pork belly starter was bland. My venison was a bit cold. The brownie was rock hard. I liked he forbidden rice base for the salmon and lamb. That was it. The sequencing seemed erratic, too. The staff was attentive and informative. I appreciated that. The restaurant is dated and needs an upgrade. I have had far better meals for this cost. The wine list was decent, and the view was good.
We had an exceptional meal and the view was spectacular! The Arizona Prime Beef Filet was cooked perfectly, as well as the Beer Brined Chicken. They have a great selection of Gluten Free dishes and an extensive wine list. The Creme Brulee is to die for, too! We dined here for our 22nd wedding anniversary and could not have picked a better place! It gets my highest recommendation!
Overall it was a good experience the waiter Ian was very attentive made a lot of excellent suggestions which added to the enjoyment of our meal! the price of the wine was a little too high even for this restaurant but otherwise the rest of the costs were acceptable for the location! My wife and I were celebrating a special event that night the 56th anniversary of our meeting each other ! The View is Spectacular! We have lived here in Phoenix for 37 years and our son had his wedding reception at the Hotel here and we have always enjoyed the dining here over the years!
We came here to celebrate my girlfriend’s 21st birthday and were we IMPRESSED! The staff was very respectful and kind from the hostess desk to even then food runners. Our server Luis, was the BEST waiter to service me. He was patient and answered every silly question I had about food or drinks. The food was phenomenal! We had steak tartare, Short rib, and quail. The short rib melted off the bone, I can’t say I had pork better anyway else. Afterwards, we ordered extra wine to take to the romantic lounge area outside. There was a beautiful view where we took pictures, of course. Also, a huge fire pit where you could snuggle up and sip on your wine. 10/10 would do again!
Spectacular food with excellent knowledgeable service. We dined for a special birthday at this mountain top restaurant with wide views of Phoenix at sunset. Ian was our server who made the wine pairing an educational adventure and well matched to the tasting menu. We felt special and could not imagine a better experience.
This was a special occasion trip and A Different Pointe of View delivered. You can expect about a hundred per person and it will be worth it. The lobster bisque has a delectable dollop of flavored sweet cream that adds a little something extra; I would go back for this alone. All in my party had surf and/or turf and all found their meals to their liking; nothing was amiss. I do not care for lobster claw personally but thought it was an interesting option, and the tail and side of scallops were very enjoyable. I indulged in a half bottle of dessert wine from Asti and found it just as satisfying as the bottle I had there this summer. The staff were attentive and made every effort to make us feel comfortable and welcomed, in particular our birthday girl.
I had been to this restaurant as part of a large group event, so I knew if I ever had the opportunity to come back with my spouse I was going to do it. She didn't know where we were going and she was very excited when we walked up the stairs and were seated with the view of the valley. The food was superb and the service was excellent. Although higher priced, I felt it was all worth the cost. We'll be back on our next trip to Phoenix for sure!
The view.....breathtaking. We came for Xmas. The buffet had a great variety, $69/person felt a bit high but I think what bothered me the most was that a 20% gratituity was automatically added. Again, it was a buffet and there really was not much for the waiter to do that warranted 20%. I would go again, prime rib was perfectly cooked.
The Christmas buffet was definitely the highlight of the day. I took my in-laws here for their Christmas present and it did not disappoint. I kept getting complemented on how thoughtful I was. Thanks DPOV for the amazing service and essentially making me look like an amazing daughter in law!
