Different Pointe of View Ratings and Reviews
Absolutely fantastic! Came for anniversary dinner with my honey. Ian was our waiter and sommelier. Ian was great! He helped us pair the wine just perfectly with out meal, short rib with polenta cake. So deliciously decadent! I give the service 10/10! The view is unforgettable, we came right at sunset! I will definitely be back and highly recommend to anyone who hasn’t been!
Location is very good, feels warm intimate and has a great view over Phoenix.
Very good service all round, but do you really need four people to work one table?
Interesting menue and certainly good food... Again there is a but... The food is way overpriced for what you get, and only one rosé on the entire wine list?
So if you're close by, and don't mind being overpriced, you should definitely check the restaurant out
The drinks were absolutely TERRIBLE. We ordered a drink that tasted fermented...it completely ruined the rest of the evening. It threw off everything we ate and drank after that. The drinks tasted like they had been sitting in a refrigerator all weekend. The food was OK. Wouldn’t go back.
Beautiful Ambience, Beautiful View, but the food unfortunately fell short of my expectations. Service was up to standard, I could just get the feeling that the restaurant was underprepared for the evening overall. I had intended to get the Seared Sea Scallops, but they had unfortunately ran out. You could tell a lot of the staff was overwhelmed with how busy they were, and the food was subpar. I would recommend the view and ambience for any connoisseur, but I just felt a tad disappointed.
Cell phone use should be disallowed at expensive restaurants like this one. Also, since this resort caters to Conventioneers, the bar area was inundated with people that had drunk too much then came inside to eat thus totally disrupting every aspect of "romance" that could have been associated with the venue. Disappointing to say the least. Really should be ready for whatever comes your way here because the staff won't do anything about it and won't be pro-active in limiting other's activities.
Positives: Food was good and the scenic view of Phoenix from up high is excellent.
Negatives: Wife's filet was ordered "medium" but came out medium rare to rare. Had to be sent back to the kitchen adding an additional 10-15 minutes to the already long wait (30 minutes) between the salad/soup and entrée servings. Waiter did not know the details on several items on the menu and had to go ask. I had to request the wine list to review.
Saw many friends on Facebook eat at Different Pointe of View earlier this year. Decided to try it out for our 3 year anniversary of dating and it was the best decision ever!! Bread was brought out with three different spreads which was goat cheese, butter (not plain), and the third one I cannot remember the name but it was green. All three spreads were delicious; I loved the butter while my boyfriend loved the goat cheese. We shared the Lobster bisque which they separated into two bowls for us and it was excellent. Our server complimentary gave us an Seared Berkshire Pork Belly which was so good. I had the Chervil Garlic Lemon Zest Sautéed Shrimp entrée while my boyfriend had the Tomato Balsamic Infused Grilled Bistro Steak entrée. Both were fantastic entrees and pictures of them are attached. For dessert we choose Peanut Butter & Chocolate which is pictured too. The chocolate was mousse and had ice cream on top. Best meal we have had in a long time. We might come back to try more of the food. It is pricy but it is worth it.
Dated facility in need of upgrade and major sprucing up. Meals sounded exciting, but flavors were not and the food did not seem to be coordinated from a cuisine perspective. I would avoid this restaurant, particularly with so many other good choices in the area.
We had a group of seven to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. I was disappointed that we were seated away from the windows and could only see a partial view. Also, we wanted to show our out of town guests the view from the patio, but were told that the Terrace Room and patio were booked for a private party and we could not go out there. This is the fourth time that we have taken out of town guests to go to the Terrace Room and were not able to do so because of a private party. It is really a shame that the Terrace Room is no longer available to enjoy anytime. It used to be a happening place with live music and was always a good time. Let's face it, you can get really good food at a number of places in Phoenix and Scottsdale. The view is the real claim to fame at this restaurant.
I researched for a romantic spot to celebrate our 35th anniversary, and wow, was this place awesome! The food, service, and ambiance matched the spectacular views of Phoenix! Luis was the best waiter we can remember. Everything he did was on point and above our expectations!
An exceptional venue given the view and ambiance. The staff was excellent - informed, engaging, and attentive. The food is definitely worthy of the restaurants's consistent AAA 4-star rating - uniqueness, taste and presentation.
Given the price point (pricey but a fair value) and 'special occasion' nature of the restaurant, putting white table cloths on the tables would significantly enhance one's initial impression of the establishment. The nice but very informal tables are more in keeping with a casual dining restaurant. The fabric dining chairs could also be refreshed.
My wife and I went on a Saturday evening at 5p and were able to be seated at a table on the outside patio, just as we were hoping. We watched the sun go down over the mountain while the city below slowly lit up.
Our meal and service was as exceptional as the view and weather. The staff was warm and welcoming, even those who crossed our path on our way through the restaurant to the patio. Our waiter, Nate, was polite, humorous and knowledgeable of the wine list and menu. He and all the other servers were spot-on in their serving etiquette, which is more and more rare these days, it seems.
The wine list was creatively curated with an appealing selection. One could tell both it and the menu choices were well thought out and paired. Bravo.
Our meals were artfully plated and visually appealing. The entrees were hot and oh so tasty.
Thanks to the Hilton and the entire restaurant staff for such a wonderful evening. It was such a pleasure to be your guests.
We took some friends to dinner and had a party of 5 and everyone did the tasting menu. Even though we had a vegan, keto and no pork/beef diet in our group, Chef produced 5 beautifully balanced and perfectly executed courses. Every dish was great and the wine pairings were spot on. He served us a grilled octopus dish, which was the first time I've had it at DPOV, and it was amazing. But then again the scallop, short rib, swordfish and elk courses were amazing also.
An great night with amazing food and great friends.
Food was VERY good! As most high end restaurants, the portions are small. Would advice eating the bread and dipping sauces. If you go, expect to have a big check, but feeling very fancy. Our waiter was very friendly, and explained what we had in our plates.
Delicious!! Perfect for dates, and romance. Or if you want to have a high end party, and feel like Jordan from Wolf of Wall Street.
I've eaten here twice and all of the food I've tried has been excellent and prepared exactly as ordered. Love the sauces that arrive with the bread; hard to resist seconds. Service is friendly, prompt and helpful without being intrusive. Great place to take special guests from out of town.
