Different Pointe of View Ratings and Reviews
Spectacular food with excellent knowledgeable service. We dined for a special birthday at this mountain top restaurant with wide views of Phoenix at sunset. Ian was our server who made the wine pairing an educational adventure and well matched to the tasting menu. We felt special and could not imagine a better experience.
This was a special occasion trip and A Different Pointe of View delivered. You can expect about a hundred per person and it will be worth it. The lobster bisque has a delectable dollop of flavored sweet cream that adds a little something extra; I would go back for this alone. All in my party had surf and/or turf and all found their meals to their liking; nothing was amiss. I do not care for lobster claw personally but thought it was an interesting option, and the tail and side of scallops were very enjoyable. I indulged in a half bottle of dessert wine from Asti and found it just as satisfying as the bottle I had there this summer. The staff were attentive and made every effort to make us feel comfortable and welcomed, in particular our birthday girl.
I had been to this restaurant as part of a large group event, so I knew if I ever had the opportunity to come back with my spouse I was going to do it. She didn't know where we were going and she was very excited when we walked up the stairs and were seated with the view of the valley. The food was superb and the service was excellent. Although higher priced, I felt it was all worth the cost. We'll be back on our next trip to Phoenix for sure!
The view.....breathtaking. We came for Xmas. The buffet had a great variety, $69/person felt a bit high but I think what bothered me the most was that a 20% gratituity was automatically added. Again, it was a buffet and there really was not much for the waiter to do that warranted 20%. I would go again, prime rib was perfectly cooked.
The Christmas buffet was definitely the highlight of the day. I took my in-laws here for their Christmas present and it did not disappoint. I kept getting complemented on how thoughtful I was. Thanks DPOV for the amazing service and essentially making me look like an amazing daughter in law!
This restaurant is our families destination for Christmas Eve dinner every year. The Christmas decorations set the mood and the view of the city is spectacular. Service is outstanding. The few children that are present seem to be taught to behave. Although, I would not recommend this as a place for really young children. This restaurant is more suited for adults wanting a peaceful, pleasant dining experience.
Everything was perfect EXCEPT for the lighting. Every table has a very bright light over it which shines directly into the eyes. The fabulous view was overshadowed by the bright light in our eyes . Disappointing, however the food was fabulous and the service was impeccable
Excellent experience - everyone was very happy! pppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp...................................................................................................................................................................................
We celebrated my wife’s and her girlfriens’s birthdays. I have known about the restaurant for years, but have never been there. It is a great and unusual location with great city light views. The service and food were excellent. It is expensive with entrees ranging from ~$30-50.00, but well worth it for the whole experience. They have outdoor seating, but it was too cold
at this time of the year. Complimentary valet parking at the top of the mountain is a plus.
Incredible view and delicious food. Great date and romantic restaurant without a doubt. My wife forgot her reading glasses. The waiter impressed me by bringing a pair. The only negative which is a pet peeve of mine is as soon as they handed us the check, there was no sign of any service again. There was some incredible lightning off to the south and we couldn’t leave without watching some of it. It was later and there were plenty of open tables at this time so we were not keeping other people from getting a table. It looks insincere when the service is incredible then they suddenly won’t even fill your water. This happens everywhere however.
Getting to this place from Phoenix airport area was not bad even though it felt like I was getting lost. Once I arrived; this was such a beautiful hotel. The restaurant is at the very top and you can enjoy the view. The building structure is nice. The service is great, no wonder 4 diamonds. The chef made special vegetarian dish for me. Would love to come back.
I love this the space here
My dinner was ok I had scallops that were too salty
I also had to wait 45 minutes for my dinner
The wine is too expensive
They gouge you
The waiter was great and gave us dessert for free probably because we waited so long for our dinner
I was not impressed
It was also very noisy
Amazing views but disappointing food! I eat out 4 nights a week, love trying new places and new food. Different pointe of view is a restaurant with amazing ambiance, incredible views, great service but disappointing food. I took 4 of my friends to enjoy a evening but after trying few things, paying $400 tab, food was below par. Don’t take me wrong, plating was great with vibrant colors. 2 out of 5 food, just points out a chef who lost passion or got lazy over time. His heart is not there, and don’t believe he is tasting his own food, at least for that night. Hope things will change and food will be elevated. But till then, I don’t believe I can go back or recommend to anyone.
