Different Pointe of View
Adjacent to the restaurant, the recently remodeled Terrace Room was the sight of over 35 premier weddings in 2011. Additionally, this venue is often booked for corporate parties, charity events, retirement dinners and other occasions when the event simply cannot be compromised.View Private Dining Details
Food was amazing, staff was terrific, and the views were awesome.
A showstopper. From start to finish. Amazing food, great view, incredible service. Ya gotta go! Plus celiac friendly
Absolutely fabulous experience
The ambiance was nice. The view was incredible. The waiter was nice but he seemed like he would have rather have been somewhere else. We were not asked if we wanted a drink. The waiter took our food orders before bringing us a wine list, which we had to ask for twice. The food was subpar. The other staff were pleasant.
We dined at this place for our anniversary. Greet for romantic quiet dinner, awesome food, great views
Completely Disappointed. Dress code was not adhered to. My hubby and I dressed in business casual and sat next to jeans, shorts and flip flops. The restaurant inside is not decorated at all. Not one single framed piece of art! The wooden tables are old, warped and scratched. Surprised they did not have linen over them. The grey chairs were less than desirable. The black sneakers on the female manager were laughable. Sad that our amazing server Brian also had to bus and clean tables. The view outside is to die for and is the only saving grace for this restaurant. Grab a beverage and sit outside but do not order the food- totally forgettable and boring. The focaccia bread had no olive oil, cheese or rosemary on it- it was just bread. My duck and my husband’s steak were extremely salty. Bottom line- not worth it!
Unbelievably wonderful. Such amazing staff. Beautifully done cocktails, appetizers and entrees. Waitstaff so engaging-and tolerant of this chitchatter 🙃A very romantic and special restaurant for almost any occasion. I can’t say enough good things about our anniversary dinner. We will most definitely be taking friends from NewYork and family from the coast to show them a meal to remember. Many thanks- you all made me feel special- and I’ve had recent challenges. All forgotten- with such a memorable evening.
Did the 5 course meal with wine pairings. Excellent food and service. Romantic evening and the view is beautiful!
We chose this restaurant for our anniversary for the amazing view we were told it had. We were not disappointed. The view was incredible and the great weather made it a spectacular evening to sit out on the patio. Unfortunately, the food and the service were not as great as the atmosphere. We asked to switch our table to an outdoor patio table since the restaurant was very slow. After thirty minutes of no acknowledgement we made the request again. I will say that during the wait we were very polite and patient as to not ruin the mood of the evening. Eventually the manager did approach and agreed to relocate us but seemed very bothered. He made no apologies for wait or the lack of acknowledgement. My husband and I both noticed that he did not smile once during his communication with us, he couldn’t even fake a smile when I thanked him for helping us.
As mentioned the view was beautiful and we and we anxiously awaited our dinners. I ordered a Scallop dish that was delicious. My husband ordered the Filet, medium rare. Unfortunately his filet was well done when he received it. Our waiter did offer to bring out a new filet but we have never feel comfortable sending food back so he ate it. We also ordered a side of Artichokes that were flavorless and tough.
Overall, I would recommend the restaurant for the view. Your food may be hit or miss. And the service can definitely be improved.
I've visited this restaurant in the past for special occasions because of the ambiance and good food. The view and food quality are still top-notch, but the service and ambiance fell short this time causing me to give only a 3-star rating.
On the service front, I suspect our waiter was fairly new on the job and/or had been inadequately trained. Missteps include: having to ask for a wine menu, when that should have been automatically produced along with the dinner menu. Bringing a replenishment of bread, but no fresh servings of butter/spreads when it was obvious our initial servings were depleted. Being slow to clean the table of used dishware when portions of the meal had been finished. Not replacing the flatware when the initial set had been taken away after we had finished our starters. We had to ask for it AFTER the entrees had been delivered.
The biggest snafu was the incredibly long wait for our entrees to arrive. We did not receive our entrees until an hour and a half after we were initially seated (and over 30 minutes after finishing our starters). Our table had only five diners and there were only several other tables occupied at that time on a slow Tuesday night. No explanation or apologies were offered for the delay. This is a level of service one may expect in the Cracker Barrel, but not in a restaurant that bills itself as a five-star establishment (and charges 5-star prices).
Regarding ambiance: On past visits, the restaurant has been quiet, even when full of diners. This time we had the misfortune of being next to three VERY LOUD MEN, who drowned out our ability to easily converse. I don't necessarily blame the restaurant, but they interfered with our enjoyment nonetheless.
Excellent dinner with fantastic view and great food and service
The food was good but we had bugs keep flying around our table and was not good for a fine dining restaurant. We sat inside the restaurant. We told the waiter about it, and just killed them instead of moving us. Our waitor was not very attentive ,until the second waitor , he was great . I would recommend the ambiance but the service needs to be better without the bugs inside. I got back home with bites all over my legs , 3 of them . This was my first time there to celebrate a birthday .
It was a awesome experience. Servers always around, every couple minutes or so. friendly and the food is amazing. This place is on the higher end $$-$$, but worth it. Best views from the mountain top.
Neither of us had been here for many years, but remembered the view and thought it would fun to try for our anniversary. We ubered over and made our way to the restaurant... The sunset from the patio was outstanding and the food was really good - surprisingly good, from what I remembered. The small chocolate candy as an anniversary dessert was a little cheesy, but we were stuffed anyway. Larry our server was efficient and friendly. We would be back!
Celebrating 51 years of meeting. Fantastic location
Exception service, food, and atmosphere. I would highly recommend this for special occasions. Put this on your list of must-do's, you will not regret it!!
Such a fabulous dining treat for my husband and me! The food was exquisite and the view simply breathtaking. Even the music was the best of choices (although as the restaurant got busier we couldn't hear it quite as well as we would have liked)! Service was exceptional as well.
Had a romantic dinner outside spectacular views food was exquisite servers were polite and attentive to your needs would highly recommend
The pictures online did this restaurant no justice. The food was superb, service was excellent. You can never go wrong with the chefs special. The scenic view was marvelous. The ambience sensational.
Amazing restaurant, beautiful view, perfect place for a romantic dinner.
Bob was such a great waiter and host to us. The view and the ambiance definitely made our anniversary special. Food was delicious and the views were amazing.
Was looking for a restaurant to propose to my girlfriend, and this place did not disappoint. It blew my expectations out of the water. Breathtaking view, the most incredible food I have ever tasted, a very romantic atmosphere, and the staff took excellent care of us. This is literally the nicest restaurant I've been to in my life. It was worth every penny.
I took my girlfriend here for her birthday. Great food. The food tasted fantastic and it was presented as a work of art. Great views. The city lights could be seen from our table inside. Top notch service. Staff was very respectful and professional. Our waiter never interrupted our conversation when he came to refill our drinks or take plates away. My girlfriend asked for another glass of wine but was unsure of the exact wine that she had ordered earlier. Our waiter smelled her empty glass and guessed correctly the wine that she had ordered. After dinner we sat outside and enjoyed the views of the surrounding hills and city lights. My girlfriend said that this was by far her most memorable birthday celebration. I highly recommend this place!
Memorable experience. Friendly service. Beautiful view. Great food. Definitely recommend.
Absolutely loved this place. The food was exquisite and the view was unlike any other. Definitely request outside seating if possible. The service was top notch! We will go back!
Outstanding!!!! Unfortunately, the Italian Cream Cake was marginal. Don’t let that stop you from going, just order another dessert. Highly recommend.
Had reservations for a girls night out ( weekend) stayed at the resort. We went to the lounge 1st and sat outside. We ordered a bottle of champagne for the 3 of us to share. When the waitress came back she only brought 2 glasses?? We had to wait much longer than necessary for her to bring the 3rd glass. We watched her continue to take orders and drop off orders before she brought us our 3rd glass. No awareness at all.
On the reservation I requested a table outside if it was not raining, obviously we wanted a view. Not only did we not get outside ...but we were seated in the back of the restaurant with myself facing a workstation and my other 2 friends facing a blank wall??? If there was not an outside table available we should have at least got seated to have the view outside.
We then ordered a 2ND BOTTLE OF CHAMPAGE- we were obviously spending money. When the waiter brought it and set it up it the standing ice bucket he then walked away , we assumed he went to go grab something, minutes passed and we saw him at another table taking their order etc. He forgot about us!!
I then proceeded to open our bottle of champagne when he heard the cork pop, he rushed back and said he did not serve it yet because he wanted to chill it...shouldn't have been chilled already ?? And he never told us that to begin with. He forgot about us ...end of story.
We all felt like because we were 3 women and not there in a "romantic" capacity that we were NOT treated the same and not given the same level of customer service. We spent just as much money as anyone else, if not more.
Was a very disappointing experience.
What a special restaurant. Over the top views, food and service. A must do for a special celebration in Phoenix.
The service was excellent. The options and the recommendations were incredibly helpful.
Food , views, ambiance all great. Especially the lobster bisque. BUT.. This was our anniversary and had it noted on our reservation. I was very disappointed when dessert was served and a small cookie was placed on my dessert that said congratulations with no word from the waiter. A "Happy Anniversary" would have been appreciated. Perhaps I was anticipating a bit more than we received, having looked forward to this special weekend with my husband.
My wife and I had our 9th anniversary there and loved every minute of it. The food was awesome. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
We had a wonderful time at Different Pointe of View for our anniversary dinner. The service was excellent, the food fantastic, and the view spectacular.
The atmosphere was beautiful and the food was delicious. Our server was very attentive and also extremely knowledgeable about the extensive wine list. He helped us make the perfect choice to pair with our meal.
Would be ideal to locate families with loud, obnoxious children towards back corner booths of restaurant where there is more upholstery to absorb their noise.
The views out the huge windows and the service were outstanding and definitely worth the drive. The appetizers were very mundane in presentation and taste but the entrees and desserts were very nicely plated. This is a very safe menu if your dinner guests are into "standard" food (nothing too unusual or modern). Personally, I prefer a more adventurous menu, but I was hosting a mini college reunion and had to play it to the safest common denominator. Most disappointing dishes: small rounds of merguez buried under too much plain couscous, boring short rib with polenta and nicely spiced shrimp, tasteless margarita gelato; best dishes were the perfectly cooked white bass, delicious peanut butter mousse with banana ice cream (and I don't even like bananas and peanut butter). It was one of the best-conceived AZ Restaurant Week menus I've seen, and I highly recommend it for next year.
Restaurant week. They had an amazing menu. Delicious!!!
Second visit here. The food is excellent but you're really paying for the view. We booked for the patio but it was a bit windy so they had it closed. Service was excellent and food was great as well. Was a little surprised to see basically the same menu that was available the same time last year. My wife and I both had the chefs special and it was delicious. They have an excellent bar as well, drinks are a little on the pricey side but to be expected somewhere like this. Will definitely be back.
Highly enjoyed this amazing place!
Delicious food and outstanding service from our waiter Nash and his team helped Brian. They ensured our needs were met. Not a glass unfilled! Beautiful view of the city lights. Will definitely go again and again.
View is great - food is average. If you’re used to fine dining I would skip this restaurant.
