Different Pointe of View
Adjacent to the restaurant, the recently remodeled Terrace Room was the sight of over 35 premier weddings in 2011. Additionally, this venue is often booked for corporate parties, charity events, retirement dinners and other occasions when the event simply cannot be compromised.View Private Dining Details
I can’t speak highly enough of Different Point of View. It is always an absolutely amazing experience and my favorite place for a special night out. William (Bill) the manager is truly fantastic and went above and beyond helping make my proposal to my now fiancé a forever memory.
Fantastic. Great view and even better service. Wait staff was friendly and fun, full of suggestions. Food was extremely tasty, well prepared, and came to the table at your pace. Cocktails were perfect. Pricing was very good for quality of the food. Highly recommend
Amazing atmosphere and energy! My husband and I celebrated his birthday their and they made it so special for the two of us with such an awesome view! We loved our server especially! He did a really fun photo shoot with us afterwards and had an outstanding personality! Highly recommend this place for a romantic date night, or special occasion!
The restaurant is supposed to be rated as top 10 of the most scenic restaurants in the country, so I was really disappointed they would not seat me outside to enjoy the Phoenix sunset. The steak was barely a few degrees above lukewarm, under seasoned, and chewy. For that price I would have expected it to be sizzling, and not so reliant upon the sauce the chef swirled all over the plate and the way too spicy refried beans (seriously, this is supposed to be a fine dining establishment). The waiter was very attentive, but I had to ask him to warm my bread. The food was lackluster, for me. I did get a few minutes to snap some photos, which was nice. But, they closed off the patio below to enjoy the fountain area. I was a little disappointed.
Food was delicious, a bit pricey. I chose not to have the fixed price meal, steak was $50. My choice, yes, but way overpriced.
I had made these reservations weeks ago requesting a window table for my sister’s very special 70th birthday. I was extremely disappointed when we did not have a window table. We were seated mid-room, getting bumped every time the waiters went through the tables, due to the fact that the tables are too close together.
A restaurant we will go back to for view, the food, and the staff was great!
The menu needs more "meat and potatoes " options. The chef seems more concerned with food critics than customers.
I love the ambience. I would take my wife there once a month instead of once a year if I could order a filet mignon with a baked potato.
If you want a great view - this is the place to come! Also, the foods we had were outstanding - the only drawback is the level of service. While the service staff was all very friendly and nice, they were not overly attentive. We asked for a cocktail menu at the lounge and after 10 minutes of the waitress not coming back after dropping off the lists, I went to the bar and ordered myself. During dinner, the wait staff would ask us if we like the wine, but even seeing that our glasses were nearly empty, did not offer to refill them - we refilled our own glasses every time. These may seem like picky items, and they are, but this place could be outstanding, and a destination, when combined with the views and the food quality, but the service holds it back from becoming premiere.
It was a pleasure to view the city lights from The Pointe while enjoying gourmet cuisine. The service was impeccable and friendly at the same time. Prices are not inexpensive but reasonable for the quality, service, and location.
We had family in from California and wanted to enjoy a nice dinner , our experience at different point of view was amazing from Corey our server to the presentation of the food and ambience!! We will definitely be back , chef you really know your food couldn’t have been better !! Thank you all , the Carpenter Family
Best view in the city. The food is delicious and the presentation is beautiful.
Great place for special event, date night, anniversaries, etc. Fantastic food with great views. The terrace is casual and exceptional for a sunset cocktail.
Ambience is spectacular and food was delicious.
excellent service. excellent food. excellent view. will return soon....
A great meal with a view and fantastic service, with a special mention for Brian who took wonderful care of us on our wedding anniversary.
We celebrated my husbands 60th Birthday. It was a great evening with fantastic food, drinks and views!
Good food and very good service and beautiful views!!!
Outstanding service, food and views!!
We now know why we need to reserve in advance. This place does not disappoint.
The view is what you would go there for. The food was good, but I have had better at a lower price. Our waiter forgot about us after our entree was served. We really didnt need to be there for 2 hours for a 3 course meal. One family member got extremely sick later, we think it was a losbter bisque. Will not go back & cant recommend.
Long wait time even with the reservation. Do not recommend Friday night. Expensive.
Took my wife here for her birthday and the service was amazing. I left a comment when I made the reservations and after confirming at the front desk that we made it for dinner, I didn’t have to mention my name or my wife’s birthday! They were prepared which really awesome! Service and food were both superb! Will be going back!
Actually proposed this weekend outside in a quiet scenic area of the terrace against a beautiful sunset at the top of the mountain- successfully I will add. I invited another couple to join us for dinner so they could play photographer casually in the sunset setting, worked out great. We were seated promptly at our reservation time and the manager greeted us with 2 glasses of champagne to celebrate the occasion- however, I think it would have been more appropriate to pour 4 half glasses to allow my company to join in the celebration- but a minor nuance. The service started out extremely slow, to the point my friend got up and had to say something so we could place an initial drink order after roughly 10 minutes. From there, with some extra attention from the management running drinks, things picked back up and it concluded to be an amazing night.
All-in-all, you can't beat the view and the food was great as well. I would certainly recommend it for the scenery if nothing else.
Great food and great service. Had a great time and the view was great as it always is.
Probably the best mean I've ever had!! We celebrated our 2 year anniversary and loved it - the service, views and meal were all outstanding. We would love to go back!
Classy yet warm. Amazing view, amazing food, and charming service. We almost always go here for our special occasions and when we don't we usually regret it. It is not cheap, but it is well worth the price and during the summer they have a great fixed-price menu. Order the lobster bisque for starters; it is out of this world.
Had a great experience. Service was perfect. Food was great
Delicious poached lobster with diver scallops. My husband enjoyed the filet. Spectacular view of the city. Outstanding service.
The building needs maintenance and upkeep. You can see paint chipping on the outside. We had lobster and scallops. The lobster was mealy and tasted previously frozen. The wine I ordered was outdated and on the edge of turning. We went for the view and to give it a try. We won’t be back.
Excellent food, excellent service, overall excellent
While the food, service, and ambiance are very good, this restaurant is all about the incredible view. We were a little early for our reservation but the staff in the bar downstairs checked us in and said to go up whenever we were ready. She also said that we could take our time and enjoy the fabulous view, which we did.
Our server also mentioned several times that we really should take advantage of the view, and adjusted the delivery of our courses to accommodate us getting up to walk outside several times. The restaurant has floor to ceiling windows that provide a phenomenal 270 degree view of Phoenix and the surrounding mountains.
There’s a great outdoor patio just outside the restaurant, but we couldn’t understand why they aren’t set up to serve dinners outside. Our server told us that he couldn’t serve us anything on the patio, but we were free to take our drinks with us if we chose.
The wine list is extensive, with most of the selections from California. The list of specialty cocktails is well worth trying.
We’ll definitely go back, and we highly recommend it.
Excellent - the food was delicious, the view outstanding and just a great place to dine!
This was an amazing date with my amazing fiance who was celebrating her birthday. It was excellent between food, scenery and service. A special shout out to Nash our server for the evening! He was outstanding! Thank you Nash and Different Point of View!
This was our first time to Different Pointe of View, despite it being only a few miles up the road from our house. We went to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant met and exceeded our expectations. The menu had lots of options that we liked, the presentation of the food was impressive and the taste and quality were also there. It was a "fine dining" experience. In addition, we had a window table with a great view and the server was excellent. He came by just enough to make sure we were taken care of, but so much to be intrusive. Did I mention the view? We also had a drink before dinner on the outdoor patio. The view there was also fantastic, but it wasn't as quite as quaint as the restaurant itself. I think that a lot more people visit the patio for a drink and the view (and I don't blame them one bit), but it leads to a more "busy" atmosphere than the main dining room.
An absolutely fantastic spot that you get to by driving up, up, up, inside the hitel’s gateway, to find it sitting on the top of the mountain. You'll need to arrive at least by 6:15 for a 6:30 reservation to insure getting a window table. We spent our 34th Anniversary there being served by Larry and Carlos who anticipated our every need. You should also have a very empty stomach with lots of time to do the Chief’s meal and wine pairing correctly. A superb spot, where you can take memorable selfies outside as the team prepares your soup or salad. A lot of fun and wonderful memories. Looking forward to visiting again very soon.
It was our 20 anniversary and we could not have picked a more romantic setting, the views were beautiful during a monsoon storm and the food excellent. Definitely will recommend, especially for a special occasion.
Excelent views and attentive waiter. Enjoyed the ambiance and the food was interesting. Great bread and butter mixes.
I brought my girlfriend here for her birthday and we had requested to sit outside. While they were not able to do this request, they went out of their way to locate and seat us at a window view table. The sunset was amazing and the nighttime scenic view overlooking Phoenix was magical. The service here was fast, friendly and professional. We had the most romantic birthday dinner and I would definitely go to DPOV again any day.
I went there years ago. I was expecting table cloths and perhaps a menu that was a bit more extensive. My daughter is a vegetarian and there were not many options for her.
