Diego's Cantina and Tequila Bar
Had reservations..Got there 15mins early and were seated. Took 25 minutes just to get someone to our table for water and drinks. Took an addtl 15 mins to place order. Food was good - enchiladas and steak fajitas. Never were asked for 2nd round drinks. Service was terrible..a guy from the back came out to deliver plates to people and he was the only one w personality in that whole place. Bill came out very quickly..only thing fast that night..Never were thanked for coming, nothing. Will not be a place we will ever return too, esp. with all the amazing restaurants Media has to offer!!
Great place for a quick bite. Our server was quick and attentive, food arrived quickly. Complimentary chips and salsa were terrific!!!! Highly recommended.
We had such an excellent meal and the Margarita's were amazing!
Was a little loud at times but the fajitas were very good. Would've liked more salsa then what was given for the nacho chips when they initially bring it to the table.
Awful. Completely understaffed and undermanaged. After waiting for quite a long time, our food was both overcooked and cold at the same time. The rice was so hard I was worried I would break a tooth. The open-space kitchen allows you to watch the cook prepare food with one hand while talking on his cell phone with the other. Just eww. I booked through Open Table because they were one of the few that had openings on a Saturday night. Now I see why. You want Mexican food? Run for the border.
Mike was a great waiter. The place was super laid back and fun. It was a perfect location for girls night out. We didn’t feel rushed to leave and we were able to order rounds of drinks after dinner. We will definitely be going back
We have eaten here before. Not so good this time. Rice undercooked. Out of peppers, which they told us. Sso fajitas served with huge pile of onions. should have offered a replacement. I had steak which was good. Would maybe give it another try. It was day after Eagles playoffs, so maybe that is why they were out. Plus quality not as good as I remember.
Thank you for offering Gluten Free options and doing them VERY WELL!
The drinks were amazing. I wish the food was more consistent. My boyfriend and I get the same things every time and sometimes they are different. Last night there was one server on a Friday night that literally had 10 tables. I ordered steak fajitas, had one bite and didn’t eat it. The steak was burnt to a crisp and barely cut up. We are giving it another chance. Overall we have had good experiences here.
Waited @ host stand for 5 mins before greeted. Reservation was @815 party in front of us was @830, they got a nice booth and we got put at the one small table in the bar area. When asked if we could change tables host told us to sit there for now and she would check (she never came back). Were served chips before water, finished chips by the time the water came. Margaritas had very little tequila (all mix). Ordered nachos for app and they came the same time as the meal (barley had enough room on the table.) Burger was good but french fries were cold. 2nd round of drinks were a beer which was served in a plastic cup and sangria which was below average, also had to get up and order these drinks from the bar b/c we could not find server. Overall was a very bad experience from the time we got there till the time we left.
Everything at Diego’s is great except for the desserts. Limited choices and not particularly good, just average at best.
Blah Mexican. Highlight was the chips and salsa. Both had margaritas and chicken enchiladas. Not the worst Mexican we’ve ever had, perhaps barely average.
Strange thing about the OT system though. It highlighted “only 3 tables remaining”. We arrived, the restaurant was nearly empty. Only 30 tables remaining would have been more accurate! And, there was no hostess to seat us - the bartender said, anywhere you want.
Seems like more of a college hangout than restaurant. Smelled like dirty mop water...
The food was really, really bad. Pretty sure everything was microwaved. Tequila list was boring and drinks were terrible.
Our server was very nice.
Would never return.
Great as usual. I only wish I knew our waiters name. He was a great guy! Loved my empanada and excellent margaritas!
Wonderful experience! We will definitely be back.
The reservation portion of the eve went well and we were seated promptly. The front area with jazz entertainment had a fun vibe and seating in that area would be most recommended in my opinion. We were seated at a tiny picnic style table with light weight uncomfortable chairs in the back. Working in the industry, I have been to many similar places and this one I would rate as fair, not terrible and not excellent by any means. Portions are average with most toppings add ons for extra. Drink price range average around $10.00 for a small mixed drink. Glad to have tried but probably wont be back anytime soon.
My only issue-corn tortillas like leather-couldn’t eat them
I didn’t complain and I know I could have
Just watch out for this thanks
Great for any occasion. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Will definitely patronize this establishment.
Food was delicious and Mike, our server was fantastic.
My friend and dining mate ordered a margarita that left a lot to be desired.
Margarita was great. I enjoyed the pastor tacos very much. Will be back
It was a nice place to meet up with friends and comfort food. Sports in the bar. The seating in the back was nice and quiet for the date.
Great for our girls’ night out- food and drinks were good and service was great!
For an aborted dining under the stars evening, everything went well. Food was really good.
Good meal at Dining Under the Stars. Many vegetarian options.
Diego’s is our preferred restaurant when we are looking for Mexican.
It was dining under the stars night, so the waitress was a bit busy. The food was good and the drinks better!
We’ve been here several times and just brought friends with us for their first time. Drinks were fantastic, jalapeño margaritas, mojitos and beers. And the food was delish.
We have been to DIEGO’s many times but after our last trip we won’t be back. We had a reservation and there was a large party inside the restaurant. The tables outside weren’t full. We were seated immediately and then waited 20 minutes to place our order. Then waited an hour for our food to arrive. I had to get up and find the manager to see where our food was. When it arrived (over an hour after we had ordered it), 2/3 meals were cold. I realize there was a large party inside which took up their time but we didn’t walk in, we had a reservation. And other than me going inside and seeking out the manager, he never came out to check on us or apologize. Very disappointing.
We happened to go on National Tequila day so there were some great drink and food specials. Margaritas were just ok (very small and minimal tequila). The food was pretty basic, but for the price ($2 tacos and $5 fajitas) it was pretty good. Although the chips weren't that fresh. Finally - it was a muggy evening and they had the doors/windows open and it was a bit uncomfortable inside. We would have stayed longer, but we were sweating! With so many great options in Media, we will not be going back.
I really enjoyed the food and service. Our table was a bit dark, but the trade-off was that it was a bit quieter.
Went for a birthday dinner. Food and service were both fantastic! If you love Mexican, you will love it here!
dinner was fine. however, We went for dining under the stars and while we have the second to last latest possible reservation while we were eating (we were seated outside) they started to clear the tables that were empty so it kind of made me feel like I needed to be rushed to get out of there which isn’t fair because I booked a reservation and that is the time that they scheduled but if they’re cleaning up and moving the tables away from you it takes away from the experience and makes you feel rushed and almost not wanted. I understand they want to go home and it’s a busy night, but clearing all the other tables when you still have people eating made me feel like we needed to wrap it up and leave.
I wanted to love this place. When we arrived we were seated quickly because we had a reservation, but there is no reservation really needed. Once seated, the hostess told our server to take our table and then our server disappeared for about 10 minutes. She then shows up drops two classes of water on the table and says “I will be right back” . About 15 mins goes by and she takes our drink order. At this point we are getting ready to leave, but surprisingly our drinks return promptly. It takes half hour to get our starters at this point I cancel my entree asks for the check and leave. This was around 5:30 on a Saturday with 3 servers and 3 tables.
My husband and I dined at the restaurant couple of days back. There was noone to seat us; after few awkward moments, we went to the bar and had to ask to get seated.
The service after that was good, the waitress was friendly. The food is OK.
I met up with old work friends....they aren't familiar with area and requested Mexican...... WE HAD A GREAT TIME..
Good food and not rushed
Found this place on Open Table and went based on the 4-star rating... was kind of surprised at the casualness, almost dive-bar vibe of the place, but the rest of the experience was great. The service was fab -- the waiter was so nice and attentive, and the food and drinks were delicious (amazing fish tacos! fab margaritas!). It wasn't expensive and the value was pretty good too. I'd definitely go back.
Service was excellent. Food was hot and delivered quickly. We enjoyed the evening
Food was amazing!
Mayan mule was undrinkable; literally tastes like a combo of dish soap and burnt rubber— the margarita wasnt much better.
You will love the food, but stick to beer, not the cocktails.
Great time, good food, excellent margaritas! Our waitress, Heather was extremely busy that night and did not drop a ball!!! She did a fantastic job of serving us.
830 on a Friday night it was more bar than restaurant. Food was good and the bar filled up pretty quickly. Wife's white sangria tasted like sour mix but other than that.... A good experience. We'll be back for drinks and bar snacks.
