Dick's Last Resort - Chicago Ratings and Reviews
Nothing but disgusting. They put cards against humanity to shame. I knew their would be slightly adult jokes but our server took it to a level no one wanted. It was extremely vulgar and uncomfortable and completely ruined our night. Our food was overpriced and no one had a good time. We will most definitely not be recommending or going back.
Tons of fun. The staff is rude (on purpose!) and it's hilarious. The food is very good, and not too expensive, considering the fact that it is a very popular with tourists. The location is right on the river, so you can watch the boats go by while enjoying your lunch. There were many large groups there, and everyone seemed to be having a great time.
We came because it was my moms birthday! I know he was supposed to be "rude" as our waiter. But they didn't do anything not even wish her happy birthday and we paid for the dessert. Food was overpriced for just three burgers. Otherwise it was a fun experience.
This restaurant was recommended to me because I was looking for a place similar to "Ed Debevicks" (closed now) I was very disappointed. our waiter and other staff was not really fun or rude or obnoxious, as I was told they would be. (:/
Dick's Last Resort is great fun for adults with a sense of humor. The wait staff is intentionally "rude" and very clever with their "slogans." Did a walkabout of many customers "hat sayings" and can't remember the last time I laughed so hard. The ribs were delish -- the meat just melted in your mouth! Gather a group of like-minded friends and go have a hoot!
I absolutely love this place. I have been there twice now and I would go back every day if I could. My favorite waiter there is Rob. He is the reason I came back again. Even though I didn’t get to have him as my waiter again he was still funny and interactive. The waiter we had this time (John) was fun as well. All in all I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants a hilarious dining experience.
The food was OK. The theme of the bar is a bit weird. The waiters pride themselves on being rude to the customers. They try to do it in a funny way, but it comes off as a bit crass and obnoxious at times. Don't get me wrong, they got a few laughs out of us, but they aren't exactly professional comedians either, so some of their "acting" comes off more as just bad behavior or poor service. It is a good spot to watch the boats go by on the river on a nice day. It also looks like a good spot to hang out and get belligerently drunk without too much trouble. I don't think I would go out of my way to go back there.
Service was great! Don't go if you can't take a good joke! It's all in good fun! My teenagers are still talking about it 3 days later! Our server was great! Appetizer was great, rest of the meals were just mediocre! $15.99 plus per person for dinners. We spent $150.00 for 5 persons. Had chicken fried chicken/steak salad/shrimp mix/chicken strips/2-beers and 3 soft drinks/shared a $19.99 appetizer (P.S Was best part of dinner).
Terrible! I brought my husband there while visiting chicago for his 60th. I had asked for it to be a great experience to really lay it on. I even went on line with the request. I had to go to the hostess and waiter 2 times because nothing was happening. All the other tables were having fun but not us. Maybe because it was only 2 of us??? Not the experience I was looking for. Got none. Took forever to just get a hat. The food was terrible. Had the dolly chicken. Was told it was big thick breasts. Not! They were flat and dry. Really wanted them to give it to us the rude experience and it was as if we were just in a loud terrible dive.
Food was on the expensive side for what you get and wasn't great. Went there for our daughter's 16th birthday. The kids thought the over-the-top obnoxious server was hilarious. They also loved the personalized white paper hats. Nice view because it's on the river. We would never go back but I'm sure but the teenagers would love to.
On July 1st, 2017 we brought out of town guests (nephew's fiance and soon to be in-laws) from Washington DC into the city for the Architectural Boat Tour (Awesome!) and then thought we'd get a bite to eat at Dick's. I take blame for for not doing more research. But I never dreamed this type of restaurant could be located on the beautiful Chicago Riverfront. It was dirty, menus and table were sticky, and A/C was not cooling adequately. We understood that it was a fun place, and looking forward to some fun and funny jokes - but had no idea they would place hats with disgusting pictures/ language on our heads - especially on that of the 69 year old father of the bride "his thong was stuck in his butt-crack". My 65 year old aunt "flashed for boxed wines".
As the waiter placed a hat on the 62 year old mother of the groom's head ( a cartoon of a girl in a bikini ), he proceeded to poke a hole in the hat at pull her hair through where the bottom of the bikini was drawn.
It was absolutely disgusting, objectionable, vulgar, and classless humor. We were appalled, shocked, thoroughly embarrassed and offended. How could a restaurant on the beautiful Chicago River display such a showing ??
Also - how could there NOT be burgers on the menu? Additionally, we asked for salads with salad dressing on the side, but salads came dressed anyway. And, my daughter's Moscow Mule tasted like 409 Cleaning Fluid. We can ride the waves with the sticky tables, dressed salad, no burgers, and an awful drink. But can someone PLEASE explain to me why the Offensive, Trashy Humor??? Please??
