Dick's Last Resort - Baltimore Ratings and Reviews
I brought my wife and two kids to this restaurant without telling them them about it. My thought was that it would be a fun surprise. However, it dawned on several minutes after we were seated that the amount of joy and fun this restaurant brings is directly related to which server you have. Unfortunately ours was blah. It was sad because my kids were enjoying all of the other tables around us having fun with their server and wondering why none of that was happening to us. In addition to our server basically doing nothing fun, she also barely came to our table. I actually had to go to the bar myself to get waters and she never noticed or perhaps didn’t care. I actually gave half of my server’s tip to the other waiter because at least he was providing some enjoyment and having a good time with his tables. Without him, this would’ve been just another restaurant. What a shame!
Waited 10 minutes at the door before anyone greeted us. We had a reservation, but had to wait for another 15 minutes. Seats at a bar table, took quite awhile to be greeted by server. Tried to order right away but told we had to wait...the kitchen was backed up with large party orders. Appetizers never came. Dinner was cold. No one seemed to care. We are not from this area...looked forward to going...wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend.
We were disappointed with the food. It wasn’t worth what we paid for it. The steaks weren’t done as requested. The food was not hot. The crab cakes weren’t like ones usually sold in the Maryland area. We were celebrating a birthday and no special acknowledgement was made to the birthday person. This was our first time at a Dick’s and it wasn’t as fun as we expected.
Our first visit to Dick's was a memorable one. It's a wacky kind of place with a jocular atmosphere. The servers banter with the guests and make each one their trademark silly hat with a comical note. The food was tasty and a good portion. The drinks were bit pricy but you got to take home the schooner glass.
The food was HORRENDOUS. I return what I ordered and went without dinner. I attempted to try my son's chicken fingers and fries and could even gag one of either down. The chicken was tough and oversalted and the fries were a saturated in oil, mushy mess. My son is 13 and ate about half solely because he was starving, but even then he could not finish. The food is "drunk food", meaning you would only eat it when you are really drunk. The waiter was creepy and came onto me in front of my son and gave me his number. I understand the theme of the restaurant but I feel it was over the line. This was for my son's birthday. Thank goodness we went to a comedy show right after and had a good laugh.
This was my girls and I first time attending this establishment. We loved it! It was so much fun. We didn't know what to expect. We read the reviews sone good some bad. But the host and waiters were funny. They are suppose to be rude/sarcastic. We were sarcastic right back. It was all in fun. They didn't go overboard. The food was OK. The drunks were great!
It's recommended for a special occasion only if you haven't been before. Great service, very mediocre food. Had the BBQ combo plate. Cole Slaw tasted like it expired last week. Ribs and chicken were OK - not much flavor. A little more tame than we expected and hoped for. I'm always game for a good sarcastic event.
I was there with my 15 year old daughters lacrosse team and their parents. The girls and parents had a lot of fun! Definitely not the place for a quiet romantic dinner! The food was very good, but the restaurant is more about the experience! The servers are a little rude and crude, which made the night fun! You definitely need a sense of humor to dine here!
We knew what to expect with the service but we really didn't get any of that. Menu is tiny, prices are high and all of the food was cold. We were a table of 6 with kids and got seated at bar area as apposed to regular table. I will never return. Waste of time and money!
We were in Baltimore for a class trip and I decided to take a few of the parents to Dicks so they could have the experience "wink, wink" of a lunch there. Unfortunately, the server missed the mark. While the rest of the restaurant was laughing and having a wonderful time, we were left hanging at every turn, including delayed food and drinks. When I requested a manager, THIS was when I was greeted with the "typical" Dick's responses...but no manager. Sorry guys, you missed the mark this time
The food was not that good at all. Over priced and mostly fried foods and not many healthy options to choose from. Our waitress was not very good. We were expecting more shenanigans and she was quite boring to say the least. I seen other people at others tables having a better time because tbeir servers were more into their roles. I would not return or recommend this location.
This is one of the worst restaurants I've ever been to. Our best decision of the night was leaving before we were served. The staff was off-putting and rude and not in a fun or light hearted manner. I'm really glad we didn't stay longer, as we all felt really uncomfortable there. Would definitely recommend anywhere else
