My husband and I recently ate at Dick and Jenny's for our date night. The food was beautifully presented with surprising flavors and lots of fresh stuff!! The menu is on the smaller side, but covered all the bases very well. I had brisket and my husband had fish. The oyster appetizer is not to be missed. Perfectly fried oysters: light, crispy and moist inside. YUM!!

I do recommend this resturant whole heartedly. Also, my bar cocktail was very well done. The wine list is ample with good choices in the moderate price range and high end well represented as well.

Highly recommend it!

Food was great but server was a little off putting. When we declined dessert she literally “snatched” the menus out of our hands without a word.

We heard about this restaurant from a local and we are so glad we traveled from the downtown area to dine here. The service was top notch and the food was fantastic. I enjoyed the drum and bread budding which I highly recommend.

We have been here before and the food was always excellent. Except for one thing, it was this time also. I had the grilled drum and was served two filets. One was cooked well and flaky; the other was half raw and as a result tough. Also, the waitress brought us our coffee on a tray and she spilled my companion's coffee into the saucer and on the tray. She then served only the cup to my companion and did not bring a new saucer. Also, she did not bring spoons for our dessert so we used our coffee spoons.

Visiting New Orleans for the first time on a sister's weekend. Really excited to experience all New Orleans has to offer and this restaurant had been recommended. Plus, it was easy since we were going to Tipitina's afterwards. Food was awesome. The pork belly entree melted in my mouth! As far as service, we felt like second-class citizens. Our server was pleasant, but didn't really interact or engage with us or ask us if we had been there before so she could make recommendations, etc... There was a gentleman who seemed to be the manager who we witnessed visiting tables to check in and was chatting up the guests, but skipped over us. Did we do something wrong or just judged to be probably not good tippers or something? The restaurant wasn't full so it wasn't too busy? We still left a good tip, because we work in hospitality ourselves and know how hard it is, but we felt valued at a lot of other places in the city that didn't cost us half as much. It didn't ruin our lives or anything and we might have expected to much since we had been saving for and planning this trip for a year, but just really disappointed. Not likely to get back to New Orleans any time soon but hopefully this feedback will help to improve their perception and outlook on guests and how their behavior affects guest experience.

Food was decent, but for the price, did not meet our expectations. Our brisket was 50% fat. Our bread came out with our entree instead of before our appetizers. Pot de creme was alright, but unremarkable, bacon wasn't a good pairing. We recommend you try somewhere else.

Our family came from all over to NOLA for our daughter's wedding and the day after my husband and I went for dinner with our sibs. We took them to D & J's & we all had an excellent time. Most of us had the blackened drum fish with some exceptions - dinner size gumbo & pork belly -- all delicious! The restaurant is so charming & our waitress very pleasant & helpful -- a big hit with all!

We arrived 30 minutes early (5:30) to enjoy a few drinks and appetizers at the bar. The bartender was friendly, helpful and accommodating. We each had a few drinks and ordered an appetizer. The bartender went to the kitchen to confirm what was gluten free for me and suggested a cocktail. Our reservation was for 6:00. At 6:20 we asked to be brought to our table We visited at our table as the girl who appeared to be our server came and went to other tables around us bringing drinks and bread. She never made eye contact and never greeted us or acknowledged our presence. We patiently waited for her to come to us or take a drink order. She took the order of the table immediately on the bar side of us and then brought food out to the table for two on the window side of us and walked away again. A few minutes later she delivered water glasses to us when passing by our table but again made no eye contact, did not take a drink order and failed to even say “ go to hell”. At this point my husband was ready to leave. I made him wait for a few minutes longer. She finally came to our table, stood beside it and seemed to begin to acknowledge us when she turned her back to us and asked the table for two on the window side how their food was, etc. at that point I agreed with my husband we needed to leave as we had just purchased 3 drinks and an appetizer at the bar, left a nice tip for the bartender, had been seated and then ignored for about 20 minutes. We got up, my husband went to the bar to close our tab ( he thanked the bartender and told him it was not about his service) The manager and or owner spoke to my husband briefly but offered no apology, did not offer to switch our server. She did offer to forgive the bill but that wS NOT the point. My husband insisted on and paid our bill in cash. The point was we were expecting service from a company in the HOSPITALITY industry and received the insult of not even being acknowledged. We left. We went a few blocks away and

Food was AMAZING! Waiter not versed in menu and what's on line isn't on the menu ie: creme brulee. Hard to figure out bill and happy hour appetizers not charged as such. So if money is of no concern go for it! Best meal in NOLA!

Yummy!! I have dined at Dick and Jenny's countless times. Yet, it never fails to disappoint and its food is consistently delicious and fresh. Try the oysters - either the cornbread fried or the smoked - umm, umm.

Second time dining here when visiting New Orleans. Sat outside last time; inside this time. Great Southern cooking - fried green tomatoes were particularly good, and the bananas foster pie was outstanding. Really enjoyed the bouillabaisse as well. The room was full and can get loud but a great place for a dinner with friends. One soft spot was our server, who appeared to be new, but very nice. The restaurant was out of a number of dishes as well due to a large group earlier in the weekend. Nevertheless, a great NOLA dining experience and I'll probably return again the next time I'm in town.

Slow service. Out of many items on menu even though early in the evening. Waiter told that one diner did not want anything spicy, and then failed to warn that the dish ordered (chicken pasta) was so hot as to be inedible. Food that was edible was "meh" at best. One of the top five worst dining experiences in 35 years of living in New Orleans.

We went to Dick & Jenny's on a recommendation from a friend. We are so happy we did! The ambiance was lovely - not too quiet, not too formal - just right! We were greeted by the host a few minutes before our reservation. He was so friendly and conscientious about us waiting for our table and got us seated right away. Our waitress was awesome too and even though she checked on us regularly the host also checked on us regularly (and the place was not empty!). My husband had a question about the gumbo and the host not only answered his question but brought out a small bowl with enough spoons for all of us to try it! Food was delicious and fresh. If you are in New Orleans and are looking for someplace authentic and slightly away from the tourist area then this is the place!

Our first visit here at Dick and Jenny's. Hostess was abrubt, immediately asking if we had reservations before even greating us. Then seating us in a dark corner facing a wall. Server was very good but food a little slow coming out of the kitchen. Entree was delicious. Desert was ok, white chocolate bread pudding. To be honest our family recipe is better.

We discovered Dick & Jenny's during Jazzfest 2017 and loved it. When we fled Hurricane Irma from Miami to ---- of course --- NOLA, it was our first choice for dinner with another Miami storm refugee. As before, the food was delicious Southern comfort food and local seafood, great cocktails and wine list, quiet ambience, and attentive service from our server, Leone, and the rest of the staff. It had taken us almost 30 hours of stressful driving to get to NOLA over 2 days and our stress levels were ratcheted up to DEFCON 11 (on a scale of 5). Dick & Jenny's decompressed us in a delicious, friendly, and wonderful way. And, having enjoyed it immensely under normal circumstances in April, we highly recommend it even if you are already living on the Zen Master plane.

Went for the coolinary menu. Dick and Jenny's is a great restaurant but they went cheap on their coolinary menu. A basic fried pork chop and grits or a burger were your choices. not a good bargain for $40. Have you eaten at many restaurants with coolinary menus. They tend to have items that take a little more preparation.

I really enjoyed the food. It can be tough to find a restaurant that is friendly to people with celiac disease. I felt comfortable trusting that my food would be gluten free, and that makes a huge difference for me.
