Diamonds Steak & Seafood - Howell
Established in 1983, Diamond’s Steak and Seafood restaurant continues to be recognized by the media and our community for its quality and consistency. Located right in the heartbeat of downtown Howell, Diamond’s restaurant serves as the premier steakhouse and family friendly venue in Livingston county. Close proximity to Fowlerville, Brighton, Pinckney and South Lyon. Visit our new location in Royal Oak as well!
Great experience as always. The back room was very nice, able to have a conversation in a somewhat private area. Service was phenomenal. Food always top notch.
An upscale gem in Howell! Great attention to detail in decor, service, and presentation. Asparagus had woody stalks, which I did not mention to the server, because overall the taste of all selections was excellent. Low level of background sound allowed for excellent conversation. (And it didn't hurt that I was meeting with a gentleman with a dreamy British accent!)
Everything we had from the appetizers to our steaks was delicious and I can’t wait to come back again!
Went to Diamonds for Mother's Day dinner and had probably our worst dining experience ever. Had a reservation for 6:15 - didn't get seated until 6:45. After ordering drinks and appetizer, it took a good 45 minutes for the appetizer and bread to show up. Bread was cold. We kept being told dinner would come shortly. The manager stopped by to ask if we needed more drinks - not an offer of complimentary drinks mind you. It finally showed up at 8:15. Not surprisingly my steak was completely overcooked. We had to ask to have it removed from the bill - they did not offer only to cook another order. By the time we left it was after 8:30.
I get it - Mother's Day is very busy for restaurants but this was an extremely poor display of organization and customer service for a place that touts itself so highly. Diamonds was overbooked with large parties and I'm guessing the kitchen was understaffed. Either way it was a miserable experience for what was supposed to be a nice evening with the wife and kids. We will not be going back.
Unfortunately not at this time. Have eaten there 5 times so far and this time was not a good experience. Waited for almost 2 hours to get our meal. My steak was not cooked to what I had asked for. Waiter was barely existent, only came to table 2 times. They did apologize for it being so late and did give us a free dessert. I was disappointed because the other times we have went it was a great experience. Not sure if we will go back again.
Great place for special occasions. A bit expensive for everyday dining. Wines are very expensive
Took on way too many reservations and didn’t have the staff to take care of all of them. The kitchen was was behind and it took the server and hour to let us know that they were out of a meal that we had ordered. The manager ended up coming out to deliver food and brought half the tables food while the other half had to sit and wait and watch everyone else eat. It’s a beautiful place, food was good but completely not worth the wait at all.
The food was decent but pricy, not really worth the money. We were there for Mother’s Day so I understand that it was busy but we waited an hour for food then they brought everyone’s food except for the mother’s, who had to wait another 20 minutes for her food. The atmosphere was nice along with the decors. We won’t be back though.
Awful Mother’s Day experience- extremely disappointing and will not be back
Jacking up the price by 10.00 per person for Mother's Day seems a bit excessive, with very few extra options from your normal brunch. Ordered OJ never got it. No coffee refills during meal.
We had a wonderful mother's day brunch at Diamonds! The food was great, the "almost" bottomless Mimosas were very good! Great job 👍
What a great mother’s day event. Staff was great and the food didn’t disappoint.
Food was good. Increased price for Mothers Day was very unexpected. We would have made other arrangements if we new. Way to expensive for what we received. I will not return for a long time.
Food was delicious - shared spinach & artichoke dip appetizer, caesar salad & chicken cavatappi.
1. On our reservation, AND on arrival, I said that my husband was hard of hearing and we asked to be seated in quietest possible area. Instead, we were in the small semi-enclosed room with a LARGE LOUD group with a screaming, crying toddler (at 10:15pm!). They finally left just before 11pm - it didn’t make for a pleasant dining experience.
2. Waiter (Andrew D) was nice but service was slow and VERY inattentive, even though we seemed to be his only customers. He was talking so quietly that I could barely hear him & I have normal hearing.
3. Our bill was incorrect so we had to wait for that to be fixed.
4. We come here for special occasions and we were celebrating an anniversary (noted on our Open Table reservation) but, as always, it wasn’t recognized. If you’re not going to acknowledge them, then it shouldn’t even be asked!
5. As stated on a previous review, they REALLY need to do some work in the women’s restroom.
It’s always nice to go to Diamonds. The food is great and the staff is friendly. My only issue with this trip was that we made reservations anticipating it would be busy due to it being the Saturday night before Mother’s Day. We had 8:15 reservations, arrived on time and were seated about 845. Kind of made making a reservation pointless.
The food is very good, however the service was absolutely terrible. Dinner took 3 hours and most of it was waiting on what we ordered.
The food was awesome. Will definitely go back soon!
We celebrated a great interview for new job.
Of course, bread and butter was brought out- nothing special.
Barely warm- reminded us of Outback Steakhouse- the bread needs to be upgraded to something people talk about-like Stillwell!
Tips and crab cakes fabulous, onion soup great at well.
Caesar salad a bit lacking in the dressing’s flavor. Enjoyed the warm butter cake for dessert but disappointed that the alcohol taste on top spoiled it. Yuck!
We had a wonderful first meal at Diamonds and will definitely be returning. Loved everything we ate! Crab cake appetizer was to die for, salmon & steak tips were awesome as well, as were all of the sides. Really nice interior, great for a date night or special occasion - a bit on the pricier side for an everyday dinner, but well worth what we spent.
My wife and I love Diamond's! On this visit the restaurant was very busy due to area college graduations and high school proms. Even with all that activity the service and food was excellent. The entrees were a little slow coming out of the kitchen (only 20 minutes but that is long for Diamond's) however the manager visited our table to make sure we were happy (we were).
Everything was good expect the steaks were over cooked and my date couldn't get a drink
Came there expecting an great meal because of the high prices but the food was average and not worth the price
Great restaurant, great service, great food. Our first time there and we will be back.
Great place and delicious food. Great service on a busy afternoon.
Had a great meal to celebrate my daughter's graduation from Michigan State Univ.
Go here often and love the service and food. Never been let down on this
The best spinach artichoke dip and homemade pita I have ever had. Drinks are strong, well priced. Service was good, timely. Both of the ribeye steaks we got were tasty but really fatty, not like ones previously. Carrot cake was to die for as always. This is our favorite restuarant in Howell, and our favorite steakhouse. Qe will definitely be back
The steak tips are amazing a little bit of a zing. Carrot cake is one of the best out there.
Sunday brunch is outstanding highly recommended!!!
We celebrated an anniversary
Our first time at this restaurant. Service was outstanding. Was very impressed with service and management. Our table was off balance and they went to extraordinary efforts to rearrange the room so we would be comfortable. Food was outstanding! Only nit was the wine pour a bit small for the $. Will be back!
Food was excellent, table was ready for us, selection was small but very nice. Service was sketchy but ok. The presentation was extremely nice and was served as it should be with minimal time between courses but not rushed either.
The service was excellent. The waitress was friendly and helpful. Food tasted very good with excellent presentation. It was also served in a timely manner. The noise level was very low allowing for conversation. Tables were arranged in a way that one felt secluded. This was my first visit and I will definitely return. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening.
Excellent food & service. Our table was ready immediately & our server was very attentive. Can’t wait to go back & try the brunch!
Always delicious. Excellent service. Prompt if you have a reservation
Went there for Easter Brunch. We used to eat at Diamonds often because we like to support our local business but it’s been awhile due to poor service.. The last time we were there we were treated very rudely and insulting by a female manager. This time the waitress acted like she really didn’t want to be there. And it wasn’t because she was busy. Food was good, great selection. Hostess were pleasant but the waitress didn’t even tell us here name. We’re easy going people and usually all it takes to make us happy is a friend smile.
Customer comes first! fantastic all the way around...
We were there for Sunday brunch (Easter). I made reservations 2 months ago. I was disappointed they put us at a corner booth - requiring 4 people to sit at the booth. This was a challenge because the food was buffet. The food was really good! The flow for the buffet needs improvement - flow did not work. Buffet was set up in silver pig restaurant, the side entrance to silver pig was unlocked so many people waiting for a table were blocking people trying to get to buffet. Overall, food was very good but for the cost (29.99 per adult and 14.99 per child over 2) flow/set up need improvement.
